I needed a washer and dryer that would fit into a space of about 28 inches deep and 25 inches wide. This is hands down one of the best units I could have purchased. I have a family of 5 and the laundry is constantly going. I needed something that would handle everything I could throw at it. This unit does exactly that. I am a second floor condo unit. I do not have a dryer vent pipe and really didn't want to deal with putting one in. The unit is stacked (the stacking kit comes with the dryer) and we drain the dryer condensation through the drain pipe. Some people are concerned the drying time is longer with these condensation units however I find the drying time very comparable to a full-size unit. With the exception of drawing water, the washer is very quiet. Regular size washing pods are too much for these little guys. I have done a few loads and find it's simply too much detergent. Now, I place a tablespoon of H.E. detergent in the plastic cup that comes with the laundry soap, and I throw the whole cup in the washing machine. Cup comes out clean and it's the right amount of detergent for this unit. It works perfectly! I don't have the doors back on the closet yet and I can barely hear either the washer or dryer. They are very pretty to look at. My previous Unified washer/dryer leaked while we were away and caused significant damage to the unit below us. So we placed the new LG units into a compact metal drip pan made specifically for this size. We also added a flood stop unit to the faucets to ensure there is never an accidental flooding issue if we are away. Accidents happen. I try and be prepared. The units are expensive, however, if you are looking for a small unit for a small space, these are the units for you.

Dryer worked great for 4 years. Now receiving E3 error code. Ordered recommended part (sensor) Did not fix problem. Main logic board is $300.00 and a pain to replace even for this electronic technician. A $900 dryer should last more than 4 years. Now the washer is leaking water all over the floor. Found rusted screws in the pump filter. Now I have a $900 4 year old washer leaking water. Very unhappy with LG products.

We have had it for a couple weeks. We were surprised that it must to installed with access to the back in order to clean the intake filter. It also must have the drain pipe connected so you don't have to drain the resevoir everytime you use it. It does have a tendency to over heat.

I live in a mobile home with the laundry closet in the middle of the house. The heating vent system runs right under that closet. Go figure? My old dryer would vent into the house and make a lot of humidity and heat. This one does put out some heat but it is dry and not as much. I haven't really experienced it in the summertime with triple digit temps outside but we'll see. The dryer works great! It extracts water from the laundry and I have mine drain into the washer drain.

This dryer arrived broken, it just makes a horrible electrical burning smell and hot wet clothes. LG customer service has been horrible to deal with, promising to have it serviced for over a month now. Home Depot wants nothing to do with resolving this issue and keeps sending me to LG customer service.

We had the previous model of this unit (left behind in old apt) and so understood then limitations associated with a condensing dryer.. With limited access to venting and with limited space (existing laundry cabinet) this seemed the best option and in some ways the only option.
This newer model seems to dry faster and more completely than before and that is certainly a plus. Over all I would make the same selection again...if you also select this unit PLEASE take care to follow the maintenance suggested.
(we also have the matching washer...and are also happy with it)
Don’t buy this dryer unless you have a LOT of time to kill - clothes take FOREVER to dry.

This dryer does not work well at all. We bought this dryer thinking it would be a good solution given our space constraints and it is terrible. The other review talking about sheets balling up and not drying, the lengthy amount of time it takes to dry a very small load, and not being able to use any setting other than high heat perfetly describes our problems. I am so upset with this purchase. It was a complete waste of money.

Takes forever to dry anything. Either there is something wrong with the drain or the installer didn’t set it up properly as the condensing reservoir keeps filling up with water. Also, it has lots of settings but most of them are not modifiable (very few options to use the different options except with the preset settings)..

I was extremely disappointed. The first unit I received came up with an error code within five minutes of being started. The repair tech came out, looked at it, and immediately wrote it off. The replacement also displayed the error code. It has now been four weeks since the initial purchase.
It takes forever to dry clothes even just a couple towels took over 2 hrs.. It gives off a horrible smell this Oder gave me a headache. LG told me the smell should go away after 3 uses so I ran it all day with my doors, windows & fans on. I can't take another day of this Oder. It gives off too much heat. I only dried 2 loads of clothes it took all day literally. I sent LG a text telling them to take it back. Lg told me the smell is a chemical manufacturers smell. Why didn't they burn it off before it left their building? It's got to be toxic if it gave me a headache. I'm done with LG washers & Dryers, NEVER AGAIN! I give it a one star only because there is no zero star. I hate to see my next electric bill. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this dryer!
