Even though I've only had it for about 2 weeks, its working past my expectations. I've been looking for months, reading reviews of others brands and just trying to do my homework on these because of how much money they cost. I decided o go with this one and give it a shot. Some people complain about portable AC not cooling, but what some people don't know is that you always have to keep the door of the room closed, because if you don't, it's almost like trying to cool the whole house. To Be Continued.................

I’m from Boston, but I “sweeeeaash to God!” this portable AC is my best purchase! I’ve been 10 years in my non-centralized heat/AC apartment! Living room, where I spend most of my time, has 2 tiny windows that open and a huge one that doesn’t! Always put huge AC in dining room to cool off living room. Took hours and hours! This bad boy is a gem! Cools off room really quick and cool air from it even blows cool air from fan that I have blowing year round, too! Room is decent size too! I’ve read instruction manual and was informed unit would shut off when water needs to be drained! Here I was, feeling around unit! So pleased with this purchase!

I purchased this AC unit in April 2017. I have window units but honestly, with my OCD, I cannot stand the amount of insects that I still get with the standard window units. After researching the portable units I finally took the plunge on this unit for my bedroom. I did chose LG because I have a good history with the brand. With this unit I was able to leave the screen in the window, helping to keep the insects out (which may be more important to me than the cooling). The summer heat does not bother me but my dog is another story. After purchasing this, I find him laying in the bedroom every day when I get home. I keep it set at 70 degrees, and in my 400 sq ft bedroom it really does maintain the temperature. It is more efficient than the window units at keeping the room cold, which is clear by my dog's relocation. I leave this on all day (10-14 hours), and generally turn it off at night. With the dehumidifier function I feel that my bedroom is more comparable to my parents house with central cooling. Some customers complained about the noise level. I do not find this any worse than a window unit with comparable BTUs. Overall this was a great purchase and we are still enjoying it this year. I am already ordering a second one to replace another window unit. My only complaint is the installation. The insulation around the window is difficult. Once the insulation was finally in place the plastic insert kept falling out while I was trying to place the screws. It took a great deal of time to get the insert placed just right so that it was secure. Other than that this is a great unit. Thanks LG!

Our new portable L.G. air conditioner works awesome! It cools down the back half of our apartment which gets all of the afternoon sun very quick. Its not too loud on high and very quite on low/sleep mode. Also I haven’t had any issues with needing to constantly drain the water tank either.

This unit works great until the temperature gets above 80 degrees. After that it struggles to cool a small room more than a few degrees. It is 85 degrees outside right now, and it can keep the room at 80. Better than 85, but not what you are really expecting for air conditioning.

It hasn't been extremely warm since I bought this product but have used it a few times. Although it says it has a self-evaporative feature, it still accumulates some moisture in it's tank. After using it for an estimate of a scattered 36 hours, I emptied out about a small cup of water. It's easy to roll, so I just roll it to an open exterior door and tip it outward a little, open the bottom drain and the water trickles out. Not a big deal. Not sure how much water will be created when the heat of summer sets in. It cools satisfactorily but is a little noisy, especially on high or when the compressor kicks on. But I can't handle heat and humid conditions so the noise is worth the cool....

I got the right sized unit and it works fine. The problem is the vent hose mount that fits in the window to vent the unit to the outside. There are multiple problems with with (1) it's hard to get a good fit that will keep bugs out without having foam seal (black & gray provided) unevenly frame the vent hose mount, (2) the vent hose itself mounts in a sleeve that affixes to the window mount, but the hose is so heavy that it keeps pulling the sleeve out of the window mount, (3) instructions say to fix the sleeve in the mount by sliding it so it catches or by screwing it to the window mount (screws provided). Unfortunately that doesn't work because (1) It doesn't catch when you slide it and (2) the provided screws are wood screws, but there are no holes in the mount you can screw them into. I ended up using duct tape to keep the mount in the window and keep the bugs out. Looks terrible. Unit is probably going back this weekend.

I have an old home with a flat roof and unfortunately live in Florida. During the summer months during sunny days the house can become unbearably hot (88 to 90) even with the new 2.5 ton central air unit running full blast. This little unit keeps my office nice and cool during the day and has been used a couple times to keep the bedroom cool at night for especially hot days. Overall very happy and got it for 10% off because it was open box at my local Home Depot. Two complaints: 1) the window kit is kind of rubbish. Fortunately, I was able to rig a solution using some shims to keep it in place. 2) It pumps air out of the room to extract heat. This is a limitation for all portable units that I've ever seen though.

This Air conditioner was rated to cool down a 300sqft area, I left it on for an hour and didnt make a difference. I would have been super excited if it only changed a degree but nothing. It was nice and cool if you sat in front of it but that was pretty much it.

We've had the unit for a week and it works really well to cool our room at night during the Summer months. Like any AC, it works best when the bedroom door is closed, but was easy to install and is cooling our 300 sq ft room very well. Solid unit for the price!
