Good generator and good price. The engine is a little larger than most 2K inverters but that is a plus for me as I'm at 6K altitude. That gives me a little headroom on power. The unit is quiet as the H-price one and came well packed. I had it shipped to the store so I could see if had been damaged before I took it home. I wish that this model had parallel capability but hopefully the next revision will.

  • Great Generator for the price!

I bought this generator for trailer camping the national parks. Because it is compliant with the NP rules it was a no brainer to buy. Upon receiving it I added the requisite amount of 30 wt oil and filled it up. I hooked up a small air conditioner to it and then it started first pull!. Ran it for 4 hours and then changed the oil. All went without a hitch! A really good buy. TomK

you can't get 2000/1600 inverter generator for this price. its louder then Honda but just by a little. Lack parallel option or would have been a full package. less then 1 gallon fuel tank but if running on half load it goes a long way. Can't say much about long term use but i take care of my stuff so think it will last me a long time.Build quality is decent.

I've only had the generator for a couple of weeks. I broke-in the engine using a 1,450w two setting electric heater. The generator ran the heater well on the low setting. It was able to run it, though it struggled, on the high setting. I would not recommend for sustained loads over 1,400w. I changed the spark plug to a name brand one and it was able to cope a little better. The sound level is not bad. Overall, it's a good generator. Just make sure it's in stock when you order. It took 2.5months to get mine shipped.

After researching various brands and power output, I opted for the Energy Storm 2000 based on various criteria that I thought fit with my needs as well as some previous comments. Following a 2-week camping trip I can say that the Energy 2000 has performed almost flawlessly. Start has required, for the most part,a single pull and the noise level is fairly low (we tested the noise level using a "non-scientific" approach by simply walking away form the unit in 50 yards increments, and different directions). At 50 yds we could barely hear it even in a national forest where we were the only ones around. The unit was used for basic things such as the small fridge and re-charging the battery. Cannot comment on things such as toaster, coffee maker, and microwave as we do not use these appliances while camping; and my A/C was not used. However, according to previous comments these things can also be plugged in, possibly individually, w/o compromising the unity's power output. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase and the cost/benefit relationship.
