There is no way to operate this lock from the opposite side of the gate. It can only be locked and open from the same side

Easy to install and nice that it has a lock and key to keep people off your property.

This is a nice latch for the price. It was easy to install on both my rolling gate and my swing gate.

This a very easy to install, nice looking, well made, and easy to use gate lock/latch. Instructions are helpful and well written. Would highly recommend.

It matches the one on my other gate

I guess five years is a good amount of time for a $30 product, but I don't know the life expectancy of a gate latch. I missed the day they taught that in kindergarten. Easy enough to use. After a while, it got difficult to insert the key to lock or unlock. The polymer attaching it to the aluminum gate eventually just snapped in two. However, I am replacing it with the same thing just for continuity.

Overall the installation process was easy and quickly, a great product. The advance of having a key lock helps when you need the extra security/safetys

Pros: easy & quick to install...maybe. Cons: successful installation and long-term use as intended depends heavily on your gate tolerances. Cons: latch features and function depends on tolerance changes that fluctuate with temperature. Easy to install the lockable latch. Easy to install the latch post. Poor design on the latch post, which has a 90 degree turn and must be installed on two adjacent sides of the swinging gate. This limits installation location/flexibility. The hidden side (not shown in any of the product photos) is sloped, which creates gate-on post contact in high temperatures if the gate tolerances are not "ideal." Better to simply hack saw the useless corner off to eliminate clearance issues that surface in summer temperatures >95 degrees F as plastic and metal expand and tolerances vanish. The two-sided lock mechanism is a flimsy wire bar. The rear lock and flimsy, threaded wire bar are covered by a curved plastic housing. I found that the combination of the curved housing and the threaded wire bar directly impinge the latch post. For me, the threaded wire bar contacts the sloped curved corner of the latch post (see above). Again, better to hack saw the useless corner off of the latch post and rid yourself of it's pointless existence. Overall a nice idea for a gate latch system, but the design gives user little flexibility in how to install to account for tolerance issues. Feels sturdy once installed. Materials do expand/contract with temperature.

It didn’t work for me because the gap in my fence was about 1/2” too wide. But seems like a great lock.
