I have used and replaced many Lawn Genie 1 in. Anti-Siphon Valves over the years. Most of the failures are due to the anti-siphon valve cap splitting along the threads. I generally get only about 5 years of service from these valves. I kept using these valves so that I wouldn't have to rework the manifold. I just found that the Hunter valve uses the same center spacing so bye-bye Lawn Genie.

I had three of these destroyed by a deer! Yep broke off three to bits. I bought three and fittings to replace the system. The valves are easy to install and I like the feature of the lever on top to be able to turn the water on and off. It gives you the ability to adjust the water pressure and has a backflow preventer built in to keep the water from going into the house supply when turned off. Wiring is simple one wire from each connects to ground and the other one from each valve goes to your controller that turns the solenoid on to open the valve, it is pretty straight forward and easy if you are just replacing one.

These valves are quite reliable for all of my jobs. I have yet to experience any issues with them. Easy to install and meet my expectations. I've been using these units for several years now and will continue to do so. These valves are priced right and once adapted with the necessary fittings, you can have a unit that can be easily changed out in little time.

33 years ago, I installed a 6 zone sprinkler system using Lawn Genie control valves. They have worked faultless, except this year (2017) Zone 1 just didn't have the water flow. I chose to replace instead of rebuilding. The new one is built with the same quality as the original. A couple of fittings and glue & BAM, up & running once again. Sure I could have saved some pennies rebuilding. I'm very pleased with my choice. I had to order it, but HD got it to me fast & free shipping to my local store. If I was starting from scratch on a new system, I would not hesitate to use Lawn Genie valves.

Easy to swap out portion of the valve assembly to be used in the old valve.

Purchase and delivery were seamless. To bad these don't last longer, mine are above ground and so subject to UV degradation of the polymer materials. It works just like the one it replaced. Set it and forget it. It says it has "flow control" but it is not clear to me how that works. The little instruction pamphlet doesn't seem to cover it either. Anybody know how to use this flow control feature?

This valve bailed us out of a jam when our our old valve cracked and the sprinkling system came on during a snowy, freezing winter night. We had to shut the water off from the main, so we were without running water for several days. Luckily, it was the dome that was cracked and we did not need to replace the entire unit...just the dome, nut, and solenoid. It fit our old valve perfectly (different brand) and stopped the leaking. We could not find a plumber or lawn service that was willing to take on such a small job, so I DIYed it. And that is what Home Depot is about....helping people figure out things for ourselves. It's a DIY world!

I purchased four Genie 1 in anti-siphon valves. The first valve installed did not work properly valve would not shut off. The next valve worked fine. Have not installed the two other valves.

Easy install I used union's for future. This fixed my old worn-out one. I appreciate the quality. Will stay with this brand.

I used the inerds and caps to rebuild an existing valve, worked perfect. Didn't need to cut the pipes

Bought 3, had to return 2 for replacement. Water leaked at the diaphragm after installation. Had to reinstall.
