Had to replace a broken cracked plate and broken plug. This one will stand up to cracking much better.

  • Duplex Receptacle Midway Nylon Wall Plate 1 Gang Ivory
  • July 13, 2016
  • Recommended Product

If you are looking for new install or replacement Ivory receptacle covers these are the ones to get. These are what electricians use in their houses. Nylon is tougher than standard plastic wall plates. The midway size covers slightly larger area (3/8" more) than standard size. Offers more protection for walls. Helps cover minor damaged drywall around electrical box openings or minor painting errors. Wall plates match Ivory receptacles for a good color match up. Should last for ever.

Pros Easy Installation, Easy Replacement, color matches other ivory devices, tougher nylon wall plate, slightly larger than standard size plates, smooth finish

  • Great Quality but Cheap Price

I bought this wall plate to finish off a new GFCI protected outlet in put in my bathroom. I used one of the single gang boxes made for sheetrock installations. This cover made the outlet look like it was there when the house was built. These plates are very durable but best of all they are so affordable that I replace any in the house that look worn.

Pros Easy to Use, Stylish, Very Bright, Nice Design, Easy Installation

Look same as more expensive "Preferred" version. Only difference is you have to be careful how tight you set screws as "Standard" plate is plastic and will crack easily if too tight.

The nylon costs about 2 times as much as the hard plastic, but can be well work it. they are flexible and will tolerate more abuse then the hard plastic ones. The hard plastic tends to up and crack, shatter or the center screw can just break off, so the outlet falls off the wall. That is not a issue with this nylon plate, they are much more durable. so if you have kids or have to move furniture around this can be great improvement.

I have used other wall plates in the past, and I have had issues with them breaking, but these are entirely different. They look fantastic, they install easily, and you don't have to worry about over tightening them and cracking the plate. We also have a 90's home and some of the walls aren't perfect and these conform to the wall beautifully. Good buy and they rounded out our outlets that we installed when we removed the original tan ones.

Much more durable than the hard plastic ones, a little extra coverage around the edges, and still dirt cheap.

I have used these white plates around the house and they work well. They are flimsy which can make them bad if you tighten them too much but it has been good as they can curve around imperfections in the wall. The paint comes off the screws a little bit and make sure you check the package to make sure the screws are in it.

Vary easy to cut to shape with tin snips, nylon cut smooth and clean. Did not shatter, crack or break. Bendable and flexible compared to plastic and metal covers. Even though nylon is a ' plastic ' it is much more forgiving then hard plastic, so it is easier to work with and will put up with more punishment. Easy to paint with spray paint. What you can do with parts like this is only limited by your imagination and the application. in the pictures I used mine for a emergency heat control I built for my turtles. due to the timing I had to build this unit while the paint was still wet and drying. I think it is funny when people look at these things I make and I tell them, " yep I got the parts at home depot, I ordered online and they ran around, did the shopping for me and I just pick the stuff up at the service desk " And they say ' wow you built that with parts from the Home Depot ? Impressive ! '
