If the flooring was not straight the planks would not have interlocked together at all. Since you were able to complete your installation, it sounds like it was an unlevel subfloor if you had to purchase and use the leveling compound. The leveling compound would have filled in the low areas of your unlevel subfloor to allow a now level surface in order to install the planks flat. As listed on the Installation Guidelines under the Care and Maintenance section it states: "When moving heavy furniture, do not slide it on the flooring. It is best to pick up the furniture completely to protect the floor from damage. Protect your floor with floor protectors that are at least 1 in. in diameter made of non-staining felt, under the legs of furniture to help prevent scuffing and scratching; Larger pads may be required on bigger objects." Most installers do find the table saw to be a great option. The product may also be cut with a hand saw or any power saw. Using the proper saw blade and switching out dull blades during installation will help to eliminate chips and splinters. It is possible for planks to separate over time if planks are not lined up exact, if planks are not fully tapped into place locking them, having an unlevel subfloor in areas, as well as other possible factors.
