Meridian 3 light brushed nickel flush
The light fixture is very nice, but it does create shades on the ceiling. I was concerned that its white color would stand out too much, but for my surprise it blends really well with the wall color.

For what appears to be, at first install, a rather basic light, where I'm wondering if it's worth the price ($140), it ends up being a very attractive addition to my cabin kitchen, kind of modern traditional. They're calling this fixture a flushmount, but I think this would be considered more of a semi- flushmount. Installation was fairly simple, easier if you don't install the bulbs & glass 'til AFTER you wire it & mount it (instructions were half-backwards, they leave a lot for you to figure out on your own, including the mounting screws). I like that it's a 3-light fixture (x 60w), 180w is desirable in a kitchen setting. I tried at first using 3-40w bulbs, but not bright enough...maybe in a bedroom. One other slight concern...I too noticed, like another reviewer, that the glass doesn't fit the shade perfectly...there's a small gap in one area, either the glass or the shade is a little out-of-round, or the mounting post is a little off-center. This light might at first appear to be kind of plain (from a distance) when it's unlit...all white...but it really comes to life when you get closer, or when it's lit...very nice.

So HAPPY with my new drum light in my bathroom. This is the perfect fixture for my shower space, as it gives off the correct amount of light for this room. The three bulbs are just perfect and brighten up this space so much compared to my old fixture. I love the look of this upscale drum shade which is very popular right now in the farmhouse traditional decor. Since the lighting fixture is not completely closed, it gives off more light than a standard ceiling light. I love this style because of the updated shape. We used three 40 watt bulbs and this seems to be more than enough light for this small room. I am very happy with this selection for this space. This would be a perfect light for any bedroom, hall, laundry or closet. Very nicely constructed and easy to install. It took my husband less than one hour to remove the old light and install this one on his own.

I purchased this to replace a flush-mount bedroom light. Using 3 clear led bulbs, this gives off a pleasing level of light thanks to the fabric shade and the glass diffuser. I’m using a dimmer with this for when I want a more subdued level of brightness. It is semi-flush mount, so just ignore the description as being flush-mount. The top is open which allows heat from the bulbs to escape, and your ceiling will reflect some light back down into the room. For this review I’ll touch on two things: quality, and the installation instructions. First, quality: This is solidly built and not flimsy. The brushed nickel components are solid and finished nicely. My unit has a few factory scratches on the canopy (part that mounts flush against the ceiling) but I can’t see them since the shade obscures the canopy enough that at 10 feet away they aren’t noticeable. The glass diffuser also has a very small scratch that isn’t noticeable from a distance. These weren’t caused by transit, just poor handling during manufacture. All the components fit together nicely. One of the product photos shows a small gap between the glass diffuser and the shade. There is zero gap on mine and it took a little bit of nudging to get the diffuser into the shade during the final assembly step (it rests flush with the bottom shade ring). Once lit, the seam on the fabric shade is definitely noticeable. I positioned mine towards an area of the room where it wouldn’t be seen much at all. Second, assembly: The included instructions are lacking. What follows are steps I took that made it easier for me. - Leave the packaging wrap on the shade until the very, very end. I was concerned about getting it dirty or scratching it during all of the handling. - In step 3 of the instructions, the shorter screws are for affixing the mounting plate to your junction box. The longer screws are what will protrude through the canopy and be finished with the ball nuts. The longer screws will give you the range needed depending on how flush your junction box sits with your drywall. Mine was recessed a bit and the longer screws gave me the range I needed. These mount from the top of the mounting plate pointing down. - Once you have your mounting plate secured to the junction box, take the canopy piece (without anything else attached) and test fit it against the ceiling. You want the longer screws to come through just enough to be able to use the ball nuts but not so much that the ball nuts run out of thread before touching the canopy to snug it up. Once you have the test fit right, set the canopy aside and use the two small hex nuts (not mentioned anywhere in the instructions) to secure the longer screws into the position you set for the correct reach to the ball nuts. - Next, I set the shade/lighting assembly upside down and attached the pipe nipple to the center coupling, loosely without tightening the nut. Then I placed the glass diffuser on and adjusted the pipe nipple to make sure just the right amount of it would show through to attach the shims and finial. Set the diffuser aside and tighten the nut against the center coupling. The other nut is adjusted later to press against the steel shim and diffuser from above. - During wiring, leave the diffuser off and don’t install light bulbs yet. No need to make the whole thing heavier than it has to be while wiring. Since I didn’t have an extra pair of hands helping me, I used a 6 inch piece of coat hanger wire with hooked ends to hold the whole thing up (hanging from the mounting plate) while wiring. - Do the bulbs and diffuser last, right after removing the protective wrap from the shade (it unwraps pretty easily). I hope this helps save some headaches for those that are doing the install themselves. I like this light and will be putting a second in another bedroom.

This flushmount is really attractive and fits our kid's bedroom perfectly (the room is about 12x12'). The base of the light is glass so the light is distributed well throughout the room. The linen "shade" is white and adds a subtle texture to the room. Our ceilings aren't tall and so we wanted a light that wouldn't hang low and that looked more unique than the typical flushmounts. The only thing I didn't love about the light is the glass base doesn't sit perfectly in the shade - I feel like there must be a better way to rest the glass into the light, but it's not a big concern, and because the glass is just screwed in with the center screw, changing light bulbs is very easy.
