I have 5 cast iron lodge griddles and skillets. This is by far my favorite. I use this one more than any of the others. We have a family of 5 and this is the perfect size. I wish it included the lid but will eventually add that as well. Great purchase I love my lodge. I will add that it is extremely heavy so handles are a must!

This 10.25 IN. DEEP CAST IRON SKILLET WITH LID is doing double duty in my house. I have used the frying pan for cooking up some eggs for breakfast and I have also used the frying pan as a fryer. The depth of the pan gives you that option. The skillet comes already seasoned so when It arrives you are ready to cook. The lid also fits on my 5 quart dutch oven and has a self basting lid. I do recommend.

This deep cast iron skillet with lid is another outstanding product from Lodge. The fact they have been producing cast iron cookware in the U.S since 1896 speaks for itself. My wife and I have only used it a few times but have quickly come to appreciate its capabilities. We think back over the last fifty years and all the money we spent on state-of-the-art non-stick cookware just to throw it out in a few years after the coating starts coming off. If you follow the simple directions provided regarding seasoning the skillet your food should slide right out as it would with one of today’s advertised non-stick pans. However, now you have a skillet where there is no coating to wear off, as such, you have an heirloom which can be passed down generation to generation. This skillet will work on all heating surfaces except in a microwave oven. You can use it over a campfire, or just set it on a hot bed of coals. Therefore, if there is ever a natural or manmade cataclysm you will still be able to cook with this skillet and lid set over a fire. Note, the skillet and lid are heavy, and both skillet and lid get hot to the touch so you must protect your hands. The instructions are well written and easy to follow, but should be read carefully. It looks nice and appears to be well made but the size doesn’t really work for me. I should have looked more carefully at the size before I ordered this. It is too deep for a frying pan and too small for a stewing pot. It is a little too deep to conveniently fry eggs or stuff like that. Also because of the sloping sides the bottom of the pan ends up being quite small. I like that it has a lid because a lot of cast iron pans don’t. It is a good skillet but make sure the size works for you. The product dimensions on line can be a little confusing. One never knows whether they are the actual product dimensions or the dimensions of the product in the box. The 10.25 diameter listed is at the top of the pan and the diameter at the bottom is only 8”. The 4.94” product height listed must include the lid and the handle. The pan without the lid is only 3” deep. The product depth listed as 16.56” is the pan diameter and the length of the handle.

Exactly what I wanted. Fries food exceptionally well.

This product is good for baking bread. I tried to use it for frying, I did not like the color of the food
