Wonderful skillet and I’d wanted one for a while. Pick up was a snap after a very helpful associate showed me how to work the pick up box. First time. Hers too. We both learned something! “Stand back. Door may pop open.”Still, I’d rather go to the store and support peoples’ jobs in my small way.

Lodge makes nice cast iron pans. I appreciated that for the price point this deep skillet also came with a basting lid, i.e. it has little points that allow the steam/etc to drip back into what your cooking ( I believe that is what happens) Shipping to a local HD was convenient and my preferred way to reduce the cost. Providing you do the maintenance on them, these cast iron pans can be handed down to the next generation of cooks if desired, so that is something. Not sure if HD carries the whole line of Lodge products. Would prefer to buy from them if so. Price seems reasonable.

Great cast iron skillet!

Tired of poisoning myself and family with teflon, bought a set of Blackstone cast iron, do all my frying in them,food taste great, absolutely love them

This is my go-to skillet for almost all stovetop and oven cooking. High sides keep splatters to a minimum, especially when browning meats before finishing in the oven. I did soak the inside filled with white vinegar for 24 hours, then drained it and got the rest of the Lodge seasoning out with a wire cup-brush attachment on my electric drill. Left the soy-based Lodge seasoning as delivered on the exterior and on the lid. Then I seasoned as usual and it has given excellent service.Yes, it is very heavy - as expected. Definitely would buy again.

The Lodge 10.25" Cast Iron 5" Deep Skillet with Lid fills a nice niche in our kitchen pot ware arsenal. We have several Lodge cast iron dutch ovens and skillet cookwares, but this is a nice in-between unit. We use it as a regular skillet, but enjoy the versatility the deep sides give us. With the lid installed, we can have a shallow sided dutch oven for different cooking techniques. You can never go wrong with Lodge Cast Iron. I own several pieces and was in need of deep skillet. I really like the fact you can brown your meat right in the pan place rest of your ingredients and leave on stovetop or place in oven. You get even heating from bottom and the sidewalls.
