Nice set of plates. Although these plates are not made of higher quality material, they are actually quite nice to eat with. They are a good size for average meals and their front facing surface is nice and smooth. I like how light they are. I have other plates that are significantly heavier. I think these plates are perfect for users with the tendency to drop things. They are nice, light, and not very expensive to replace.

After years eating meals off of round plates, eating off of square plates is a nice change! These Luminarc brand dinner plates are not completely square; they have rounded corners. The description says they're 10.5 inch plates, however measured diagonally they're 11 ¼ inches, and about 1 inch deep. The bowl of the plate, the part where you would put most of your food, measures about 6¼ inches diagonally. This may be helpful in not putting more food on your plate than you should or can eat.
If you're familiar with and use the Corelle brand of dinnerware, you will definitely like these Luminarc plates, as they're also made of tempered glass that's chip resistant, lightweight, and non-porous which resists bacteria growth. I think they're perfect for every day family meals.
I have only owned these plates for a couple of weeks, but they've been through the dishwasher, hand-washed, and microwaved, and so far they've survived fine. Oddly, there's no small print on the bottom of the plates indicating they're microwave and dishwasher-safe, but you can be rest assured that they are. I'm hoping to get many years of dinner meal pleasure out of these Luminarc plates, just like Corelle.

These dinner plates are very basic and kind of thin. It looks and feels like the type of dish for a starter home, they are not fancy at all. Plates are light weight, and I feel like they need TLC or they could break fairly easily. They are very nice for plating pretty meals. Dishwasher safe, cleaned easily and because they aren't too think, they stack nicely in the cabinet.

My wife and I acquired these plates a short time ago because they looked real nice and a little bigger size. We come to find out that these Luminarc Carine white dinner plates are really a bit to big to eat from and store in a cabinet. They are by far much too light weight and seem very cheaply made because of their light weight. They almost feel like they are made of plasctic.

To start out I am not normally a white dish guy. I really enjoy the feel and look of these dinner plates. The comment was made last night by my best friend that its fork friendly. Which means the lip is a perfect place to gather your food on your fork!
These are high quality plates and I will be purchasing more very soon for my kitchen!
As a last note my dog knocked my plate off the chair I was sitting on right onto my hard wood floor no chips and did not break! Always a positive!

I loved these when I saw them on the website, and thought they would work great at family dinners as serving plates to go with my mothers antique china which we still use at family dinners. The fact that they are more square than round will mean they will take up less room on the table, They are very well made and will be great to use for luncheon plates too.

The Luminarc dinner plates came surprisingly packaged very well which was great since I had them shipped. Each plate came with cardboard packaged between each plate and also in a very insulated inner cardboard “crate”. The plates are a very nice bright white. They are a large diameter which I really like. They clean easily. My only concern is how thin the plates are. I hope they dont break easily!

These are very nice everyday dishes. I have all patterned dishes so I thought having some white plates I could mix the white with my patterns for a different look. Can put smaller plates or bowls on the center of the plates. They are made of Opal glass, chip resistant, and non porous to resist staining. They are a bit more square than round and the actual area for food is a bit small for the overall size of the plates. They stack great and take up little space, very light weight, good for smaller meals.

The plates are a milky white color made from “Opal glass” which are supposed to be; Hygienic in that it does not absorb impurities, high impact resistance, dishwasher, microwave oven and freezer/refrigerator safe. I see these as a great universal plate especially for young families.
I really like the underside of these plates. Unlike most plates we’ve owned these are lightly textured which improves their grip ability decreasing slipping out of clumsy (me) hands. The plates are cropped with the flat square center being smaller than many plates measuring approximately 5 1/2 inches across. Therefore, food is angled on the sides as well as placed flatly. It adds a simple/casual but somewhat stylish look.
Overall, we are very happy with the plates, they seem to be good quality plates. If you are reading this review and you are shopping for versatile casual plates this will be a great choice. Without hesitation I say it fits all our needs and expectations. WELL done Luminarc!!!!

I really like these dinner plates. They are very elegant and stylish-looking. Why buy boring round dishes? These look like you have discerning taste. I like the square shape. It guarantees that you'll have a square meal every time you eat! I think it also gives you more surface area for food, either for eating a meal or for serving things like dinner rolls, bagels, or whatever if you have a group meal. They clean easily too. They are dishwasher safe and must resist cracking, because they came shipped in a box that only had a piece of cardboard between each plate. If it they can arrive in one piece with such minimal shipping materials, they must be fairly strong. In short, I would recommend these dishes. They would make a great gift especially for a couple just getting started or a housewarming party.
