expensive but works as advertised

Overall the Caséta system shows promise. Nicely designed and simple to operate. Cheaper than Hue lights. The smart hub works and provides a few nice features. However, what you can do with it is very limited. Simple concepts that would require a firmware update or updates to the app, might help and are needed. One example is turning on a light in a room and you almost never want it at full brightness. You can do that with the Pico remote by pressing the middle round button but the main controller that does not have a round button, but is needed to control the light cannot do that. You either turn the light on high (too bright) ot press the up arrow and wait five painful seconds to get the light just right. Could that app allow you to set a maximum brightness? Could one tap of the on button give you one brightness level and a quick second tap take it up to 100%? Those kinds of little details are completely missing from the implementation. Another idea, how about every wall unit having a middle round button that is programmable? One quick tap could turn on the main lights in the room. Two quick taps in a row would turn on all the lights in a room. Great idea, but Caséta has not thought that far ahead. If these kinds of improvements can't be accomplished with firmware and app updates, then you might want to wait for the second generation of this tech. Or just understand the limitations it currently has. It can turn on and off the lights. It can dim them, although in a painfully slow way. It can set a schedule which is good for security, and you can make up scenes if you don't mind pulling out your phone to execute them or talking to Alexa. If that is enough for you, then enjoy. You'll be happy.

Easy to install. Works perfectly. We needed an additional light switch in our living room. Installing the dimmer switch and remote gave us that option without having to wire in an additional switch in a new location. Plus we got voice activated control.

I worked in building automation and knew Lutron well. I was intrigued by the Caseta system. Caseta makes lesser systems like Zigbee or Z-Wave irrelevant. I began with my switches on timers, and found the Caseta products had everything I need for future use: lamp and fan controllers, remotes, and a controller for timed events and control from my phone. The Caseta light switches were easy to install and program. My 11-year-old son got the hang of it and completed the install that day.

I spoke with Lutron and unfortunately they indicated that I could not use this kit because of the type of lights I have under my cabinets. I have always enjoyed the Lutron products…and their CS is outstanding.

I looked at many smart switches before deciding on Lutron at Home Depot and I'm glad I did. These switches work so well, after buying one, I bought four more. The app to control your lights is excellent allowing multiple schedules and manual control. And setting it up with Google home was simple. Lutron has many informative instructional videos for installing, and setting up too. This was a great purchase; I highly recommend.

Works great! Simple to set up. Light are fast to respond. And integrates nicely with Apple HomeKit. Can’t wait to add more switches to my smart home!

Installing was simple, setting the app up was very easy. Only downside is needing to put one in every room will cost you a good amount.
