What began as a project to simply replace my recessed lighting Halogen bulbs (which have been discontinued, thanks EPA) to LED bulbs (expensive for 12 dimmable spotlights!) turned into a massive Home Automation project when I discovered that my old dimmers weren't compatible with LED dimming bulbs. I discovered these wi-fi, voice command (through Alexa and others) and decided it would be cool to automate downstairs. At $50-ish bucks a piece per wall dimmer (3) and switch (2) and lamp controls (2) (plus 7 Alexa Echos throughout the house and wi-fi thermostat!) it turned into a very costly "just switching light bulbs" project. As far as these particular switches, they work perfectly for the ceiling fan (my fan does not have a light) as far as merely turning it off/on, obviously it won't change the speed or blade direction and I was unclear if the dimmable type switch would work. I have another switch which operates one plug (for a lamp, generally) and that also works fine. The Lutron Hub (sold separately) is great for adding all your wi-fi switches to be operated via Smart Phone or voice device, such as Alexa. My pros are, these are awesome to either control the lighting/fans via a Lutron smartphone app or by using Alexa (or other type), especially when I have every light downstairs tied into the system to make "scenes". My cons are 1) (this is the BIGGEST con) - THE PRICE!! $50ish EACH? I don't understand why a wall switch control would cost the exact same as a dimmable switch. I would love to put these upstairs as well but the cost would be incredible. 2) the little metal tabs on the sides - the instructions say to leave the tabs if it's a single switch. If it's a double switch, break off the tabs of the 2 switches in the middle but leave the outer tabs in place. If it's a TRIPLE switch, break off all the tabs on the center switch as well as the inner tabs on the 2 outside switches. BUT, by breaking off the tabs, this also affects the amount of current the switches can handle (huh?). I've swapped/added a LOT of switches and plugs in my 56 years and this baffled me. WHY would simply breaking off tabs affect ANYTHING (this may have only been on the dimmer switches but I believe it was both). Anyway, I tried installing these as suggested, breaking off only the inner tabs. When I put the faceplate on, the switches "bowed" in the center making the 2 outside switches (in a 2 or 3-gang box) lean inwards to the middle and the middle switch sunk back so the wallplate barely touched it. Most unsightly and unprofessional looking. The problem was that by leaving the outside tabs intact (on the outside switches), they "caught" on the drywall (the electrical box is just slightly deeper than the drywall on EVERY switch/plug in my 10 year old house - I've never had a switch/plug with these "tabs" on them. Solution was to obviously remove every tab from every switch. As for the warning that it decreased the power output (again, huh?), everything goes to LED bulbs so they don't use much power anyway. Some of these switches come with the little PICO remotes which, personally, I believe are silly. The switch(es) are already triple redundant without the PICO: the switches can be operated manually, by Smart Phone (with the Lutron Bridge), or by voice control (with an Alexa type system). The remotes are something to merely throw in a drawer, especially when one has a large amount of their home equipped with these. Dump the remote and lower the price! Aside from that, if you're into Home Automation (and it's something one adjusts to very quickly!), this is an awesome system, albeit an expensive one.

We hired a licensed electrician for install and two out of three did not work or functioned intermittently.

The switch worked exactly as expected; Lutron app makes it a breeze to control remotely. Bought 3 total for outside lights & now have these turn on/off at set times plus you can control remotely with Lutron app.

Very easy to install and smooth operation.

Used for non-dimmable LED light fixtures. Works excellent. Forward phase switching prevents the lights from "flickering" when electricity is turned on or off. Programs easily, same as the other Caseta products. I also ordered the "on/off" Pico remote. I didn't find any local stores with these items in stock. Ordered from Home Depot and the products were directly shipped from Lutron. I received the items in 3 business days.

Great product. Especially when used with the lutron lutron hub and Google home. It baffles me though, to know why home Depot carries the dimmer version of this in store, but yet, you have to order the regular on/off version online. Kinda dumb.

Over the past year, I've replaced most of my dimmers and switches with Caséta devices. I added the hub in the fall allowing automating my lights. I use a Caséta switch for the outside light. Now it goes on at Sunset and off at Sunrise. I highly recommend the Caséta system to anyone who wants to automate control of light and outlets. It has and continues to work flawlessly. The hub can also control other things like blinds and thermostats. In turn, the Caséta system can be integrated into the Samsung SmartThings system. The prices for the devices may seem high, but actually are similar to products from other manufacturers and have at least as much flexibility as the other products, if not more. The only thing missing is an outlet, so I use a Caséta plug-in dimmer for that purpose. I consider Caséta a better system than the offerings from Leviton and GE. The Android Caséta application is easier to understand and use than the Samsung application.

Works great had trouble with the dimming style would not completely turn off the LED lights once I changed to the switch with the neutral everything works as it should.

This is an addition to the Caséta system we already had. The light switch worked well for our application.

Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. This switch is one component of a Lutron Caseta Wireless System that replaces my old X10 system. By comparison with the X10, I find the Lutron system to be vey reliable.

This is great for integrating with Siri. It requires a neutral wire—so be sure you have that. If you don’t have a neutral wire, Lutron’s dimmer switches will still work, but not this one.

Worked as advertised

Provides the solution when wiring locations are not available. Install the matching wireless remote or remotes when and where you need them. Also allows programming onto the wireless whole house Caseta system.

This which is easy to install with very simple instructions. This switch is used basically for simple on/off function were dimming is not needed. Used this for fluorescent light application where all the on off was needed.

Easy to install and set up on iPhone to work with either Lutron app or HomeKit. Now wife can come home and turn on garage lights from car (old garage door opener lights don’t work anymore). Actually fun. Put another in for spot lights and much easier to put on schedule.
