Lutron makes good switches and they are elegant. This is a good switch with two operations as long your wiring allows you. If you have any electrical abilities at all, it's very easy to install. The instructions are detailed and clear. If you can follow instructions, you probably don't need the electricians first turn off your power at the barker, than take your old switch out and check the wiring that goes up toward the fan, if you have red, black, white and ground you can use this switch to control fan and light separately from this switch. Once installed correctly the fan controller does what it's supposed to do. The big paddle controls the light where small slider next to paddle controls 3 speed of the fan.
I've been going around my house, which has many ceiling fans, and replacing the wireless remotes most of them have with these fan controllers. Some of the fans have pull-chains, and they're getting Lutron wired controllers too. Life is so much better without having to yank on chains or wonder if the batteries are dead in the remote.

I like having a switch that controls the whole ceiling fan. Light on/off, and fan on/off plus adjusting fan speed from the wall switch. Wish the fan control slider was bigger. That said, it works and looks good.

As normal for Lutron a great product and I am sure will get years of use out of. Looks great and is very easy to install, At first was unsure would like not having a dimmer for light till I was thinking I never dim it anyway with the remote and use the remote and this switch at the door, like to be able to turn on the fan and or light at the door, then at my bed I turn off door switch and use the remote for fan and light and can then dim if I want, just wire to load side of remote master. Just remember cant use both at the same time you must turn off switch at door to use remote control. I changed from a skylark to this Diva as the skylark could only control the light, so now can turn on fan and leave the room and works great

The outstanding feature of the Lutron Diva Fan Control and Light Switch is that it works with pretty much any type of light bulb you may have in your house. In the past I have had several frustrating instances with with new technology switches and bulbs not working with the existing switches and bulbs in my home when I have tried to upgrade. This switch bridges the technology gaps between incandescent, CFL and LED bulbs eliminating incompatibility issues.
Installation is pretty easy for the do-it-youself'er but a little bit of a challenge because the body of the control unit takes up pretty much all the space in a standard residential electrical box making it hard to tuck in all the associated wiring and nuts. Is doable though. Be advised that this switch requires an existing separate power wire to the fan motor in order for it to work - many ceiling fans (ones with pull chains) are wired into ceiling light circuits that only have a single power wire running to the fan from the switch box and will not work with this switch without installing an additional wire.
The contemporary paddle style switch looks very cool and the up and down slide control for the fan speeds make it very easy to use. For me the $30 price point was a little difficult to swallow but very much worth the cost because of the unit's compatibility with just about any type of existing lighting situation you may have in your house. It works great for me.

If you have a ceiling fan that has 3 wire connectivity (i.e. a switch for light and another for fan), and are tired of having to pull the string to change the speed of the fan. Get this. The switch gives you light on/off functionality plus the ability to change the speed of the fan and turn it off completely. All from a nice single switch package. The lights use the big decora style switch. The fan speed and on/off use a little slider on the side of the switch. Yes you have to know its there but its easy to use and find. Install took me 20 minutes, 7 of those minutes was vacuuming up after myself. Everything is included to make the install easy including instructions and wire nuts.

About a year ago I installed a ceiling fan and light combination replacing a surface mount light fixture in a bedroom. I ran 3 wire in the attic to the single gang switch box at the wall and used two switches mounted in a single gang enclosure to control the fan and light. That was a pretty good solution but still required use of the pull chain on the fan for speed control. This Diva 3 speed fan control with light switch is the perfect simple solution to provide fan speed control at the wall and to provide a nice big switch when someone enters the room and needs light. I will need to explain the speed control on the side of the light switch to guests but that's no big deal. This is another innovative product from Lutron. I do wonder how Lutron might also incorporate light dimming into this switch. That would be pretty interesting but the current configuration is really all I need for this bedroom fan and light combo. Just make sure you carefully note which wire is the line power and which is the light and fan switch leg as you disconnect the old switch device(s).
