Lutron advises on their web page that if you have a low current draw then this model may not work correctly (ours turns fan on and off repeatedly) so for low wattage applications they recommend the MA-T51 model.

I should have read the reviews, but the package should also indicate it has a: 40 Watt minimum load. Below a 40W draw this switch will cycle on/off in short bursts. Does not work for my Panasonic WhisperQuiet bathroom fans (10.8W). Shouldn’t have thrown the packaging away now I’m stuck with a unit that I can’t use. 2-Stars instead of 1 because it works as advertised with my Hunter light/fan combo.

Note: This timer requires a load of at least 40 watts to operate properly. It does not require a neutral (white) wire when you wire it up. I purchased this timer for my bathroom fan. I had installed a 100 CFM Delta Whisper quiet fan, quiet and low power consumption. When I connected this timer to the fan, it started up, then slowed down, then cycled fast and slow every second or two. I checked the directions again, and found an issue in the troubleshooting section - this timer needs to be connected to a fan that draws at least .3 amp or 40 watts. I removed the timer and connected it to a different, larger fan in another bathroom. Here it works OK. Strangely, as it reaches the end of it's time interval, the fan stops, then runs for about 10 more seconds, then shuts off. The unusual operation and wiring arrangement of this timer leaves me a little uncomfortable. We'll see how long it lasts. I think the outside packaging should indicate that this timer needs a 40 watt load to function so the customer knows if it will work.

Although it took a second try to get the correct fan timer delivered (the first time was sent a light switch) this timer was well worth the wait & shipping pick-up at Home Depot was free. So easy to use the locker at the entrance with clear instructions. In & out in less than a minute.

Love these timers, I was soooooo tired of the kids leaving bathroom fans on or closet lights on, this timer switch has brought peace and lower electric bills to our home :)

I like it, however this is a replacement from what I bought 5 years ago, as it suddenly stopped working.

Returned the unit. The fan couldn't run at the correct speed. From comments on internet it needs to connect to neutral to provide enough amps.

With the help of Lutron tech support I was able to get the correct fan timer that works with my fan.

A nice replacement for the mechanical Intermatic timer whose knobs kept breaking. This Lutron Maestro timer has been in use for about 2 weeks but we have been using one in another bathroom for about 3 years. It was easy to install and works great. Run time intervals up to 60 minutes vents the bathroom even after the kids showers that steam up the room. Quiet when in use and the little orange lights visible at night are a nice plus feature.

Easy to install and operate. Time increments are dead on, at least for 5, 10, 15, and 30 minutes.

I ordered two of these. Both malfunctioned within 10 min of installation.

Happy with the switch. Paired with compatible slave switch for 3-way arrangement. Wish would dim a little more with my LED bulbs - can only get to around 12% dim, but happy overall. Also when using the application for scheduling I had to offset my time by 1 hour due to where the system time pulled.

Easy to install and LED time indicator is simple to read.

This is the 6th one I have installed. They are great!

The timers work very well. One note: they briefly stop and then resume fan operation when they reach the last minute of run time. It's a quirk, but one I can live with.

I've always been a fan of Lutron products, but like this specifically because of being programmable to return to 60 minutes when turned off. My customers like the quality too.

Atfter installing nine of these in my bathrooms in my house, I decided to try one on a gas fireplace in my master bedroom. It works great!
