I was really surprised by how well it works. More hot water than I need. The water pressure I want. I think they should include a maintenance statement about mineral build up in the pipes unless you have soft water.

I replaced a 40 Gallon Tank Natural Gas heater with this model. My tank wasn't near a wall, so I decided to take some wood I had and fabricate a small stand with a back to mount this, and mounted it directly under my old vent from my tank heater. I used shark bite 1/2 to 3/4 connectors, I used a grinder to just cut my copper pipes just above my old tank heater, keeping my old connections on the copper pipes to my tank intact, just in case, and my water shutoff to the tank also. The 1/2 side of the the sharkbite made a quick and water tight connection to my sanded, even, and smooth cut point no sweat. The 3/4 side I went with Pex pipes, red and blue, also this made connecting to the Tankless a breeze, as I already had my 3/4 connectors inplace and tight before i mounted, Pex pipes are pretty bendy and this made it easy... also I made my own clean out connections on the bottom of the tankless with some T-Connectors, more Pex Pipe, and some cheap valves, with 3/4 screw ins, so I could easily later pump cleaning/descale through my tankless in a few years if needed. This step saved me over 100 dollars having to buy the kit, with the 3way valves. I was able to use my existing 1/2in Gas line, as it already had an adapter on it to screw into 3/4 or 1/2, so just a little bit of new gas tape, and some rechecking for leaks and I was good to go. All in all this was really simple thanks to some very knowledgable guy I found at HomeDepot to send me home on the FIRST try with all the stuff I needed. I checked for leaks on the gas line with soapy water just to be sure, as the directions tell you to do. My Tankless did have one MAJOR problem though... it did not work, at all... As an engineer, my first check was the very cheap looking battery compartment. I got my voltmeter out and was able to verify 3.05 Volts coming out of the box without removing the cover. Dumbfounded I rechecked and rechecked, but couldn't find anything wrong... then I made the terrible mistake of touching the (hand turnable) water purge control sticking out of the bottom... this has a very cheap and crappy O-ring on it, which broke the moment I turned it and water began spewing everywhere INSIDE the device! I shut down the water, and took out the value, found the broken O-ring, and made a new one with plumber's tape, tightened it back into place, and figured now might be a good time to read the instructions. Nothing in there was helpful, so I found a video online... the video said to do what I already did, by checking the battery box, and its voltage, but then the video said to remove the cover of the tankless... I didn't think to take this thing apart, but the video made it seem pretty easy, so I did. What I found inside kinda shocked me.. first be sure to disconnect the LCD pannel carefully while removing the cover, after removed it I first blow dried all the water out from my little mishap. Now I could see the problem. The batteries connect to a little switch that is triggered by water flow... its the same kind of switch you find in your computer's mouse. Well my switch had some wires coming from it, with a plug... that wasn't plugged into ANYTHING. So I dug around and found the cable it was suppose to be plugged into, and Poof just like that, everything was fine. This model does not like anything in your house with a mix valve, (like the one likely on your kitchen sink) So in order to get that to provide hot water, I had to turn the flow to the LOWEST setting (almost) just to get hot water to my kitchen sink at full hot setting. And you have to be careful here, because facets like that even at full hot, dont take a lot of hot water flow, so your tankless heater will quickly make water at up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit!! This is bad, its bad for Pex pipes, its bad for you facet connections, it bad for people in general! So I had to really tweak the flame, and Summer/winter setting just to get it to keep that kitchen flow down to about 150 F. However this creates another problem... In my bathroom, the sink is a hot and cold knob, so full hot is high flow no problem, but with the tankless configured to engage for my kitchen, (almost lowest flow setting) and not provide 3rd degree burns, running the bathroom sink at full hot means you get about 115 F water... (and this took about an hour to get this just so, because it was 103 F on my first try, while still getting the machine to come on at minimal flow request from my Kitchen sink) So if you want hot water on my bathroom sink, you gota keep it on low... This setting worked out good for the shower though, which is also a mix valve single knob. So it works at 50% hot 50% cold, which gives good warm water, however on full hot, its good and hot, but nothing thats gona burn ya. It takes a lot of work to get this calibrated right... if every facet in the house is a 2 knob, you can just set the machine on High Flow, and be done, and this model would provide enough hot water for every facet in the house at the SAME time no problem. You can up the flame, and put it in winter mode and go nuts. However keep in mind, extreme heat does a number on some stuff, especially on and off over time. so you really want to take your time and calibrate it right, I try to keep mine about 130, and it only spikes to 145 when its trying to make hot for my kitchen facet, which I plan to replace with something that is either 2 knobs, or a lot better flow. With it setup like this I can't really have someone in the shower and get really hot water for the washer, or dishwater at the same time. The tankless device restricts water flow, when you set it to trigger at a lower flow, which seems counter productive.... I wish the device would trigger at low flow, but still allow more at the same time, but then it would have to be able to compensate with more flame to flow rate on the fly. This is actually a quite simple device once I got inside it. I'd say thats a good thing to be honest. I'd post a photo, but Its not completely 100% finalized, I still have to add my T connector to the Hot side to finish my cleanout loop for scale maintenance, since my water is a little hard. TLDR: If you have a 1 bathroom home, or only really use 1ish hot water point at a time, or every facet in your home is a 2 knob, this tankless is cheaper then a new tank heater, with a little tinkering will work well. Most city water and city gas will support what this needs no problem in PSI and Volume. My total cost plus installing this was $280, plus a few hours calibrating, and finding what I needed to get the settings right. Don't hesitate to remove the front panel, and check for loose/disconnected wires, its easy and fixed my issue.

The product works fantastic and seems to be enough hot water for almost double what it's rated for. The only issue that I had with it was getting the hot cold blend just right. It took about 20 minutes of adjusting the settings to get it where it's comfortable. Nice anyway for the $$$.....

Easy to install and works amazingly! I live off grid so this was a simple choice for my family. The digital screen showing the water temperature made it easy to set the temperature and safer than testing it out. Plus, because it is a battery operated pilot light, we are saving a bunch on propane. Only regret is not buying it sooner.

If I could give this product a zero star rating I would. Since that is not an option you see what I gave.Funny thing is I dont normally leave reviews for things but this is necessary to help save a life. This tankless gas water heater never worked properly since day one that we bought it on December 7, 2017. It would either be too hot or not come on at all. We could never adjust the water pressure for consistent temperature. A few days ago there was a smell coming from the area it was installed in. A few minutes later there is an explosion that could have possibly burn down my house and hurt my family. Thankfully no one was hurt but the wall was blown out and the door was blown off. The gas had leaked and then it finally ignited causing the explosion. We mediately called the fire department had them check out the home and are gas lines to make sure that we were safe so we can eliminate any further challenges. The next day we replaced it with an electric tankless water heater which by the way is fantastic and from another company. And we sent back the Marey tankless gas water heater for them to check it for the malfunction. We sent them all the pictures and all the information from the day that we bought it. We know for a fact it was the ignition switch that when the gas turns on it then switches to ignite. It didnt ignite therefore filling the area with natural gas and after a moment finally ignited and then exploded. They came back and told us that it was our fault that it malfunctioned. That is absurd because nothing was done to it other than installing it correctly. It's funny how everybody is having difficulty with their water heaters after a year of having it. This happened just after a year of having ours. It could have potentially harmed or even worse killed our family. More people need to be aware of this malfunction and the company is trying to hide it. SAVE YOUR FAMILY, DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS.

We live in San Francisco Bay Area, where in winter months the incoming water temperature can be about 50 deg.Fahrenheit early mornings. This heater works ONLY fine when incoming water temperature is higher 60's. We have installed this unit in our bathroom with the shower about 2 feet away. Every morning in the winter months when you try to get hot water, the heater starts for a couple of seconds, you can hear the gas burning and you see the temperature on the LCD panel start rising. Then abruptly you hear the gas stop burning and you see the temperature dropping on the LCD panel. If that happens you have to turn off the tap. You have to repeat the same process for about 10 minutes before it starts giving hot water continuously. Then for the rest of the day it is fine. Same ritual the next morning. Also sometimes in the morning when you turn on the tap, you can hear the igniter sparking, but not the gas igniting. So you turn tap off and try again if this repeats a number of times you can start smelling gas. Then you have to turn tap off and wait for a few minutes for gas smell to go away before starting the process again. Tried calling the Customer Service number of times BUT nobodys pick up phone and goes to voicemail saying "We have heavier than usual call volume". I tried dialing for a few days at different times of the day. But still same. Left voicemail a couple of times, but nobody responded. One time miraculously I was able to get a person on call. They refused to send anybody over. Even though I had registered this product online on time (within 30 days of purchase) and warranty information says "1 year labor". The customer support person only asked me to twist a screw to reduce water pressure. He said that would fix the problem and if not call again. I tried that but it made no difference, other than reducing the hot water flowing through the shower. Since then I have tried calling them again, but to no avail. I don't know if I got a bum unit or this problem is faced by all living in cold environments. But customer service is terrible. I regret buying this brand

Replaced an old ELM Aqua Star 125 VP- I would have kept it if I could have acquired parts (water valve re-build kit). This Marey gas-fired tank less hot water heater is priced low, but cannot adjust to changing incoming water temperatures. You need to adjust for water temp with three knobs (winter/summer settings, water pressure and gas pressure. Installation took two plumbers sightly less than 4 hours with all copper piping and blow off valve (blow off valve required by code) and metal gas pipe. No flex pipes were installed. The heater did not ignite at first. Switched batteries and the heater finally ignited after the air was bled from the extended gas line The hot water temperature fluctuates during a shower partly because the water temperature fluctuates from the outside. I am use to the fluctuating temperatures during showers from the former tank less hot water heater. I need more showers to adjust the settings, which are very touchy. This heater does provide hot water for the NH climate if placed on the winter setting. I would have put in a more expensive tank less hot water heater, but that would require installing new exhaust piping (PVC venting - I have B-vent connected with the furnace vent) and putting a new hole in the roof of my condo.

Easy to install, connections are logical. I used copper tube and flare connectors making the gas easy. And 12" sink connection hoses allowed the rigid pipe some flex.
