Moen does not have a substitute handle kit of a larger size. You can purchase the escutcheon extension kit 162BN to bring the escutcheon ½” closer to the handle. We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the gap between the handle and the escutcheon plate on your Moen Banbury Spot Resist Brushed Nickel Posi-Temp® Tub/Shower. There is a gap between the handle and the escutcheon plate to ensure the screws on the plate do not interfere with the operation of the handle. Depending on the installation, it is acceptable for this gap to be between ½” – 1”. Many times this gap is defined by the amount of room behind the shower wall the installer has to position the valve. Moen does offer an escutcheon extension ring that will work with a 7” round escutcheon plate, part number 162BN. This escutcheon extension ring will push the plate forward ½”. In regards to the loose handle on your Moen Banbury Spot Resist Brushed Nickel Posi-Temp® Tub/Shower, we would suggest checking to make sure the phillip screw and the hex screw (7/64” hex wrench required) are both tightened. The Moen PosiTemp shower handle appears to have a broken adapter kit 116653. Typically when the adapter needs to be replaced the cartridge (1222/1222B) is recommended to be replaced as well.
