Many reviews will give you the *initial* impression: easy to install, fairly quiet, no problems so far etc., but within a year they will rust. We have never used this disposal even one time and it's now rusted solid. Not good!

This is lightweight and it’s pretty easy to install. Took me less than an hour.

The disposal was easy and fast to install and surprisingly powerful enough

The unit is very loud when it works. It got jammed on a small tomato skin. It takes hours to un jam and then you just want to throw it out after. The unit is tiny and has no way to manually clear a jam so your stuck digging into it with an object or your hand. I am already replacing it and moen hasn't even responded to me. I do not recommend this disposal 1/3 hp for anyone that actually uses their kitchen.

Just installed this 1/3 HP a month ago and it works fine, but I'd go with a little higher HP if I had it to do over again. 1/3 HP is a tad on the weak side. I'm afraid to try anything too stiff like cooked meats or vegetables. I was even afraid to try lemon halves. Works for the little particles from rinsed plates though.

Installed 2 days ago. It took me about an hour. (Would have taken less time if the previous owner had not glued the old disposal and drain pieces in place, but that's another topic.) This replaces an older 3/4 HP ISE disposal that was HUGE, and supposedly had sound insulation. This new Moen disposal is half the size, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it's also quieter! It runs at a higher RPM than the old ISE model, so the 1/2 HP motor seems equipped to handle anything I throw at it. The rubber strainer/collar is removable, so in case it tears (which they all do over time), it's easy to replace. The only potential issue is the collar doesn't let as much stuff through, including water, so I see water backing up, even though the drain is completely clear. If I remove the collar, water drains quickly. BUT, that also means things like spoons and forks are not going down this one, so maybe that's a blessing.

I have to buy another part and strip wires...which means I’m gonna have to spend more money to get someone to do that for me. Not pleased as that wasn’t in details. We don’t have a plug under the sink.

This 1/2 much quieter and efficient. Very easy to replace (read the instructions). I did not at first so the wife had to correct me. You have to tighten the three screw before spinning on the Moen.

I purchased this for my kitchen last June (2019). It seemed to work well and then it just died (Apr 2020). We never put anything but food scraps - usually vegetable cuttings - into the disposal. At the listed 1/2 HP (or roughly 375 Watts) the motor should have had no problems. I bought this because I believed Moen to be a quality name brand and the listed HP more than sufficient. It's the first disposal I've owned that has just died at such a young age. The previous one was over 30 years old. As an engineer with over 25 years experience in Silicon Valley I don't recommend this product.
