Nice and sleek
This is a sleek shower set. Easy to install(per the plumber) and looks and feels great. It's simple and modern and will last us decades. Should anything go wrong(drip leak), you can easily change out the internal cartridge. Moen customer service is also top notch should you have any questions or needs parts.

    The handle sits more than an inch out from the eustachian plate. It was professionaly installed and it looks BRUTAL. I also wish I purchased Delta. Will probably need to tear the wall apart from the back to fix. It will vost you more tome and money...

    Hello Disappointed and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Moen website. We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the gap between the handle and the escutcheon plate. There is a gap between the handle and the escutcheon plate to ensure the screws on the plate do not interfere with the operation of the handle. Depending on the installation, it is acceptable for this gap to be between ½” to an inch. Many times this gap is defined by the amount of room behind the shower wall the installer has to position the valve.

      The reason I give this valve 5 stars is due to many years of experience installing them for my customers. It's reliable, easy to use, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. If the cartridge fails, Moen will send you a completely new cartridge at no charge. How cool is that? This valve has exceeded my expectations.         The total experience was great, from speaking to customer service in finding the right valve to receiving it within a couple days, even before it was to arrive. Furthermore, we know from experience that Moen carries a reliable product that delivers years of service. Moen stands behind their products so it something were to go wrong, they will make it right; although we have never had this problem. Once we received the valve it was soldered efficiently and quickly. The value comes with a scald free security that water can't be turned on to hot. The mechanics of the value bring smooth operation that one can place the knob/handle in the exact spot for consistency of comfortable and relaxing shower that bring vitality in the morning and relaxation for the evening.

        Solidly built, smooth operation
        This brass valve maintains temperature of water even when someone else in the house flushes the toilet. The instructions for installation are clear and there are videos available on U-Tube that can also be helpful. The one I bought has fittings for soldering brass piping to the ports. You can also get it with threaded fittings or barbed for direct connection with the modern PEX type piping. Ask your plumber which one would be best for you before you buy. My plumber used the copper piping to make a secure mounting before connecting the PEX pipes. Follow the instructions to flush the lines after installation to save the cartridge.

        Just installed mine. The distance of mine after installed from the face plate to the handle is 5/8 of a inch. Not sure who or what all you other people didnt do correctly but the distance IS NOT 1.5 inches like people say. Not even close. Looks Excellent.

              although i did not have this particular device installed, the concept is really a plus in terms of user safety, since it prevents accidental scalds. my plumber used a different posi-temp model that has the water shut-offs built into the device, which is a really smart idea. anyone who is replacing a bathtub faucet should consider purchasing pone with a posi-temp device.

              Terrible Warranty Service
              Issues started with the install. The depth to install the valve back from the wall was incorrect and the escutcheon wouldn't sit flush with the wall. I called Moen - installers responsibility to make sure the dimensions are correct before installing, not our problem. That took some time and holes in walls but I got it fixed. Issue 2: the valve stem snapped off the cartridge inside the valve body after 30 months, leaving the valve stuck on. I called Moen and they quickly figured out the part I needed and said a replacement will ship shortly. That was 25 days ago. It took 10 days for them to actually ship the part. Now it has slowly been tracking its way across the country for another 15 days. Here is the issue: I only have this one shower and I'm not going to take showers in others homes right now. So my wife and I have been bathing in the back yard with the hose. Had I got the part within a few days this would be a different review, but its been 25 days of back yard showers and now the part appears to be stuck at a UPS hub. I'm so frustrated that they don't seem to care one bit about the consumer! I'll give them this: they make no guarantees about how long it will take to get the parts. The super annoying part is that a few days after the part shipped I got a coupon for the Moen website and it recommended I just purchase the valve I need or a new shower head system all together. I'm very tempted, but believe me, it wouldn't be from Moen! I've had other warranty issues years ago with a different plumbing fixture manufacturer and had the parts within 3 days. This is unacceptable! TERRIBLE follow up on warranty issues.

                Sticky valve
                I have Moen cartridge valves like this one in two of my houses (the one I live in and 1 rental) for an average of 30 years. They are in both the showers and the bathroom faucets, (I guess builders like them because they are inexpensive). In all cases, (8 in all), the valve is hard to pull out (turn on the water) and push in, sometimes to the point of slamming against the stop. I have replaced the cartridges, only to have the problem return in a couple of weeks. On one shower, replacing the cartridge did not even fix the issue. On several of the faucets, I just replaced them with a different brand.
