  • Cartridge leaked from the start
  • April 23, 2012

Beautiful faucet. Got it installed for us by a contractor, but we immediately saw that it would drip after we shut it off. Had to eventually find/buy the MOEN Cartridge Retainer Removal Tool, Model #14272 and a new cartridge. What a pain, and from a brand new faucet mind you.

Heed the warnings. Extremely poor design. We had Cartridges fail out of the box. The plastic retaining nuts can and will break while trying to remove the cartridge even with the "special" tool (#14272). A lifetime warranty is only as good as the company behind it. Moen did not respond to either telephone or email messages and a leaky faucet will not wait.

  • Inferior Quality

We've had this faucet for just two years and this is the third time we're replacing one of the spigets. They either leak or completely fail.

  • Looks great but not a good product
  • September 23, 2012

Looks great but has defects. The center mixing hose connection blocks the drain lever preventing it from moving freely. Eventually this rubbing will cause the hose/plastic connection to wear thru. More disappointing was that it leaked from the start when turned off. I don't expect this from an an expensive Moen.

Pros Looks Great Cons Difficult to Install, poor fill hose design/ poor qc

  • Looks fine but not what it seems
  • May 09, 2016

First the faucet looks fine. However the base of each handle is plastic; not sure how it will hold up over time. Also, the drain is all plastic except for thin metal overlays on the parts visible once installed. The worst part is the supply lines will necessarily interfere with the drain mechanism due to a serious design flaw, as others have mentioned. So under the best of circumstances you'll end up with a klunky installation. I also doubt the drain stopper will actually hold water. I'm debating returning the unit for a higher quality item... very dissappointed. I would never install this in a "high use" sink.

Pros Looks Great, Easy to Install Cons plastic parts, poor design

  • Pictures only - no words in instructions?

First of all, the faucet looks outstanding in our girls' bathroom. We installed a new granite countertop and the faucet at the same time. Everything was fine, except that the instructions contain no words - just pictures. We had a problem with the way that the hot water stem was set up - out of the box. It was set up so that the water ran when it was in the off position and you had to turn it forward to turn off the water. Because the instructions had only pictures and no words or troubleshooting info, I had to wait for Moen to open on Monday to fix the problem. It was a simple task to remove the handle and the top of the housing underneath and then twist a part inside 45 degrees and replace everything. There was no information or picture in the directions about how to deal with this. I have since read online and seen folks with the same issue - one would think Moen might include a troubleshooting section in their instructions, but that would require them to WRITE SOMETHING. Now the faucet looks and works great. Had they taken the time to include instructions, the installation would have been much easier.

Pros Looks Great, Stylish Cons lousy instructions

My contractor installed them and they are beautiful!. Love the new look of our bathroom. They match the towel rods. It is certainly what I was looking for and looks great on the new vanity from Home Depot.

I love this faucet. It coordinates really well with my new granite countertop and other brushed nickel bathroom accessories. The arch of the spout is attractive and also very functional....no over spray on the granite. I also like the spot resistance feature. I highly recommend this faucet.

  • Beautiful - Love Moen's customer service

We bought this faucet for our basement bathroom. It's beautiful and was easy to install. However, the "pivot rod" that was included wasn't long enough for the drain stopper to lift up properly. One simple call to Moen's (friendly) customer service and they are shipping out a replacement rod that will arrive in about a week.

Bought two for our Master Bath remodel and love the look and feel. Very resistant to spotting and the higher faucet clearance is wonderful. I also find I greatly prefer the widespread spacing without the large base. Only caution is that these are quarter-turn faucets, meaning that from fully closed to fully open takes only a quarter turn of the handle. This means there is a bit less control over the cold/hot mixture and it can take a little getting used to. Also, my contractor frowned on the Moen faucets because he says they are more of a struggle to get seated properly and it did take several attempts to get a leak-free install.
