Put the towel bar up ... within 2 weeks mount was falling out of the wall. Mollies don't help - it is the way the screw goes into the wall molly .. terrible. Just patched hole - don't know if I really want to put the bar back up!!!!!
The builder used these in all my bathrooms. They look pretty, but God help you if you ever have to remove them. The toilet paper holder tore a 3 inch hole in the wall that , joy of joys, I now have to patch. All I wanted to do was remove it to paint the room, which is the proper way to paint, and it did this. It's not so difficult to use the tiny screws that are typical for bathroom fixtures, so they didn't need to try to reinvent the wheel here. This is a horrible design, I am so unhappy with them. Then again, if you never paint, you'll probably be pleased with it.
I purchased this to compliment my faucet fixtures. It looks great. The connector is made of plastic and while it functions and seems sturdy I would prefer a metal connector. I hope Moen stands by this design and offers free replacement connectors if they fail in the future
I bought three of these to go into two bathrooms. Based on the performance of the one we put in our powder room I took the other two back instead of having my hubby install them. My handy hubby says he did the best securing it. Maybe my kids tug on the towel too much? We bought two Delta towel rings for our master bathroom & they are more secure.
