Good quality
I ordered this door because of the price and reviews. After I placed the order, I drove to the store to see it in person (call me crazy, but some glass doors just feel safer than others). The fact that Home Depot didn't carry it in the store made me a bit nervous, so I just waited for it to arrive. I was relieved to see that it was good quality AND it was packed very well so it was safe until my workers could install it the following week. Once installed, my workers informed me that they were unable to remove the key from the lock. They spent a bunch of time trying (and since I'm paying them by the hour, that wasn't great!). I eventually called Home Depot about the key/lock issue and they called the manufacturer. Then, I spoke with the manufacturer and they were able to talk me through it in 10 minutes. Now it works well. Thank God (no need to uninstall!!). All in all, I think it's a great door for the price. I wish it came with a screen, but there IS a slot for one if you decide to have a screen made. That's what I'm planning on doing.

Failed Mechanic Design, although product looks good.
Lesson Learned: Do NOT trust the online rating, not accurate. If you want to buy a door, go to the real store to check and feel the real product and talk to real people. Pro: Product looks good with good material used. Con: Failed mechanical design. The door is VERY difficult to slide unless special angle or force applied. From this point, this is a FAILED product no matter how good it looks. I think the designer or QA of the manufacture is not doing a good job (this issue should be found and stopped at QA stage) and surprised Home Depot purchasing department not find out the issue either. The top gap of the moving door to the frame is TOO big, 7/8" (see attached photo). If cheap/light materials used, you will NOT feel this failed design. But this door is using good material and is HEAVY, so you feel good until you operate it. Because it is heavy, you have to apply some force to the door handle to open the door, but due the gap is TOO big and without good assistant sliding guidance, the friction of the frame will make your hand LIFT the moving door a little bit therefore the door is NOT horizontal anymore. You will NOT able to open the door easily and you have to use brutal force to force it sliding. This is a NEW door, as an engineering product manager, I can predict this door will DIE very shortly. (The same gap of Anderson door is less than 1/4", see attached photo, go figuring out). That is why this door is a failed mechanical design and should be recalled to re-manufacture. Other customers complaining the leaking, not sure this gap contributed or not, I guess it does. To make things even worse, this product is ONLINE Only. So you have NO chance to know this big hidden failure until the door delivered to you. Remember I mentioned this door is heavy, so without help you have no way to handle it yourself. Because this is online (www.homedepot.com)order, you can NOT return it once delivered and opened. Passing this failure to (online) customer is really NOT fair. I can pay restocking fee but I cannot take the whole cost. "homedepot.com" please help to send this feedback to manufacture to fix the failure and stop selling such failed product online to bring trouble to customers and ruin HomeDepot reputation. I am still working with homedepot.com trying to get my issue resolved. I do NOT want this ill designed product. Sliding Door is mechanical design, good and bad just a few inches away. A door barely or NOT sliding can be called sliding door?

Response from THD-CSMar 29, 2016
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, we have reached out to the vendor and their response is, "Thank you for your feedback. There are multiple adjustments that are often necessary after the installation is complete. Your active panel is most likely adjusted too low. Raising the rollers will resolve the issues you described. It will raise the panel into the top frame and stop it from dragging at the bottom, resulting in smoother operation. Here is a link to the adjustments that can be made, this is also on the installation instructions that came with the door: http://masterpiecepatiodoors.com/PDF/door_lock-adjusting.pdf

New Sliding Glass Door - Photos of bright white door is misleading
The door itself is sturdy and functions well. The color doesn't seem to be the white that others have uploaded or what is actually shown in the Home Depot product photos. I was looking for a modern slider true white. The screw holes that are used to adjust on the inside interior view are visible unlike the photo from Home Depot.

      Satisfied with this door
I needed to replace a rotting Pella french door to my patio, and searched for several weeks before deciding on this door. Because my house is accented with wood everywhere, the interior wood grain was the selling point for me, and I am glad that I chose this door instead of a cheaper alternative. *The interior wood feels very 'plastic-like' but the color is a light, almost maple color. It can be stained to match whatever before installation (have to lay it down so the stain doesn't run or streak). I purchased the door and had it shipped to my local HD (Brighton, MI) and was surprised at how well it was packaged upon pickup. The door comes upright on a pallet, and is braced on sides with diagonal 2x4's, then completely wrapped in cellophane. It also has plastic handles attached to the sides for easy moving. I got it home and had a neighbor help me unload it. (IT IS HEAVY- don't let your ego break a new door.) A friend and I were able to remove the old door and install the new door in a day (about 6 hours). Installation is pretty straightforward: the most difficult part is lifting and setting the door into place. The door looks great and locks well. It has been installed now for 6 months and I have no complaints.

      Great look, great price!
Sliding glass door was taken from store to my house, then up to camp the fallowing day. Installed by my son and I and he did all the rest of the work. Looks great and the door slides like a sled on snow. Smooth... Great look! Great quality! Very happy with this purchase!

      Well-made sliding doors
My husband and I installed this door ourselves. It is a very heavy door so you will need 2+ people to help move it and set it in place. I had researched and looked at quite a few doors including the brand names and chose this door because it felt really solid and was a very nice looking door. We chose the 15 panel with the grids between the glass and the low-E and also liked that it had the deadbolt. These doors have the same, or more features as the name brands and seem to be the best value for the price. We did have the key issue as mentioned in previous reviews where we weren't able to get the key out of the lock once everything was installed. I went online to the manufacturer's website and couldn't find anything about it and since It was a Sunday, their office was closed until Monday. Not wanting to leave the key in the door all night, my husband removed the lock and found that the locking mechanism was upside down (locking collar turned is what I think he said). I don't know if this is something the factory does so the key doesn't fall out and get lost during transit, but I do think they should mention it on their website and also in the paperwork because it was a bit frustrating when you can't get it out and think it's broken. Overall, we are happy with the door. We installed it in place of a window and love how it completely changed the look of the room.

      Disappointed
I ordered a Master Piece patio door on-line from Home Depot, and had it delivered to local store. It came packed very well in plastic wrapping, cardboard, and 2x4s. 1) I noticed two small dings and a staple stuck in the door. I didn’t notice until I had the door completely unpackaged and about to install. 2) There’s a sticky haze on the inside and outside of just the top half of the glass. I didn’t notice until after the door was installed and the sun was shining through. I assumed it would come right off easily. It did not. 3) The local Home Depot would do nothing, and said call Master Piece or the Home Depot 800 number for on-line orders. 4) Master Piece would do nothing. They said clean it, and too late you’ve installed it. Oh but you could have returned it if you hadn’t installed it already. We are very sorry and apologize for your inconvenience. I installed myself with the help of a friend. There are no issues with the install—the door is working fine otherwise. Now I’ve took off from work, made arrangements for help (needed for a 250 pound door), unwrapped, and about to install---and now sto? Home Depot and Master Piece will tell you sorry you shouldn’t have installed. But what they won’t directly say is, “We are not at all concerns about your loss of time or money should you decide to return the door, and we know it won’t be easy for you to do.” Returning this is not so simple for this type of item. It’s not like returning a tool. The dings were covered by cardboard even after unpacking most of the materials. I didn’t notice the haze, and would have assumed it would come off easily—it did not. See pics for yourself. Given this information decide for yourself whether to order a Master Piece door from Home Depot. My recommendation would be this. Don’t order a Master Piece door. Their customer service was not the least bit concerned. Don’t order large items from Home Depot on-line. This is not new condition. Not for a $550 item. Neither Master Piece nor Home Depot would do a thing after contacting them. Best regards Jerry Simmons

      Well crafted patio door
This door was professionally installed using home depot's installers. The workers were great in getting the door in with little difficulty and commented that this door is good and solid and better than others that they have installed. The door looks and operates great, slides with ease and has an added lock feature which is especially nice if you have small children, as they will not be able to unlock the door by using only the handle.

Door Stopped Locking After One Month
While the look of the door is great, and we were glad to get rid of our old drafty single-paned patio door that wouldn't lock, this one won't lock now either! It has only been a month in use and the lock doesn't line up with the hole in the frame anymore. It isn't a key problem, it doesn't lock from the inside either using the deadbolt-type lever. The only thing we can do now until Home Depot answers our email is to lock it using the auxilliary bolt that keeps it from being taken out of the track. Unbelievably inconvenient, we can't go out the door and go someplace and lock it behind us... and as a kicker, it didn't come with a screen door either. I guess that's what you get for under $800.

Someone said it; you get what you pay for.
First off, the door opens and closes just fine. However, in order to get the door to latch/lock the catch needed to be shimmed out with washers. Now when the door is closed, it barely makes it past the weather strip. Guess we will see how it works in the winter time. 2nd, and speaking of weather stripping, this constantly comes out require a screw driver to push it back in. This last for a day or two then has to be done again. See attached pictures. I would steer away from this door and would not have bought it knowing what I know now. Oh, the warranty, read carefully. You need to send a letter with said issues. Also, this was installed by a reputable window/door company.

          Great Door
I bought this door to replace an Anderson wood slider that couldn't handle the north-facing exposure (rotted.) My installer refused to read directions but had good gut instincts to get the job done right. The door feels "massive" - like a "bank vault". I am happy I bought it.

This is a solid energy efficient and modern sliding door, excellent quality, except for the fact I purchased the right hand sliding patio door and I received the left-hand one. To open the door is great, but to close it properly takes some time to adjust the sliding door properly, the locking system is not the best.

Nice door. My only complaint is the lock binds when you turn the knob. It works though.

Contacted Home Depot customer service and No solution. We called this provider, they said: "No truck to delivery this item. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Door is very hard to lock. Must really push it in tight for latch to catch. Screen door is almost transparent. My dog has walked into it multiple times. Beautiful doors otherwise.

MP Doors has poor customer service and products
We purchased a slider door from MP Doors and have had a lot of issues. Calls to customer service to get replacement parts is an exercise in futility. Lynne R (supervisor) will tell you they will ship your replacement parts for your broken door and they don't ship it. So we have had to call and call. Each time Lynne R (supervisor) will tell you that the parts will ship and they don't. She won't answer emails. No one else in customer service will help. I would never buy another MP Door product.

The third party deliver was a pain, but once the door was finally delivered, I am very happy with it. Really like that the composite material will not rot like some wood doors will, and the built in blinds work great. Easy installation and door glides easily.
