For the money you can't beat this door. You would have to pay over twice as much to get the same quality and features in a big name door. The unit is heavy, but once it's in, slides like a dream. I would highly recommend.

this sliding door is awesome! we replaced some French doors that weren't well installed to begin with, and now we have no draft, a super easy door to open and also secure with a lock and key. it has a clean look and is perfect for heading out onto our porch.

I purchased two sliders for living room and bedroom balcony. They look very nice from the interior and the sandwiched blinds are convenient. Here are some things you should be aware of...the base does not sit flush to floor so you have to be careful to step up; the base and track easily collect dirt so it tends to look dirty and will clog the rails making it hard to slide or fully shut (must continually keep clean and clear of dirt and debris); the blinds do not completely fall to bottom and they tend to get hung inside the window; the plastic on the bottom of the blind slider lever pops off easily if you're not gentle; the top latch is very hard to engage and must be exactly aligned; and the door lock sometimes does not catch so you must be careful to check that it is engaged.

It is the cheapest option, you get what you pay for. It IS an upgrade from the builder quality we replaced from a home built in 1985. I've had the door for 2 seasons now. Pluses: price / ease of install / it is better than 1985 tech, especially the double pained glass (is a bit more sound proof too than the old door) Major drawback - weather stripping isn't solid - the plastic framing is brittle. the screen door sucks. but my least favorite thing is the actual opening width, with the door open, in ONLY 22"!!! - try getting a sofa in or out of that space.... better make sure you really like that sofa in your basement before you install this door - (speaking for a friend....) the old door had an opening closer to 25.5", and if we removed the door, it opened to 27.5" (large enough to move a washer/dryer in and out) You gotta love moving a washer and dryer down the basement steps rather than your walk out basement...... (again, speaking for a friend....)

After having an issue with our first door that was likely caused by transport, the second door arrived in good condition. It looks gorgeous, but the panes did need sealant cleaned off. It installed fairly easily, and our lock worked fine.

Wow what a nice sliding door. It slides great, it locks great, it looks great. It is very heavy so you probably need a helper to steady it for the first few screws. I had some block work to do since I ordered the 60 inch door. Otherwise install was easy but tiring because of the door weight. This door has a french door look and comes with a keyed lock.

The door was so heavy I could not help lift it. We had to ask friends/loved ones for help to install it. Got it in pretty easy with enough hands and it is GREAT! The MASTERPIECE screen door that we ordered to match it sucks! Not worth the money. The door itself is wonderful. good price. nice smooth open/close. The lock is a little funny. Even though the door is perfectly level, you have to hold the door just right in order to lock it.

We've had this door installed for about 2 weeks now in our remodel. we love this option compared to the previous 20 year old sliding door. the blinds are a great bonus for privacy and slide easily up and down (we kept our curtain up for added privacy and to block some of the sun and out porch light at night. this door has lock option on the handle and an extra lock, eye level, on the door that slides open (added security feature). we also noticed this door minimizes the heat as it's exposed to the sun all day and has improved the temperature in our dining room. we are so happy with our choice and we received compliments from the contractor who installed. we actually took a previously sliding door off of the contractors order because we liked this door better than the standard. Very happy.

I am not reviewing the product i am reviewing the company that make the product i purchase a masterpiece sliding door when i recieved the door it was in a crate packed and wrapped very well, after opening the packaging my contractor notice that the door was used he pointed out the joint compound paste and glue stuck on the sides of the sliding door plus the large holes which was made by a screw gun during insulation the door even had a few nails stuck inside of it , the door had scuff mark and green paint and grime the glass was even dirty overall the door was used and was install in someone else house i am appalled that masterpiece would even send me a special order item in that state .After being very angry i contacted master piece i describe what i saw on the sliding door this woman Lynne down played the shipping department error even asking me if the item was workable and could be used at this point my blood began to boil with anger after i email her the pictures and she saw the condition of the door she did not apologize about the shipping dept sending me a door in that condition she aske me if the door is workable my answer was no! After spending over a thousand dollars she wanted me to install used door what kind of customer service workers master piece have employed in there company . I believe this company is shady to even try to pass a used door off for a new door i am putting them in the hall of shame anyone bying this product please take the item out of the crate and check every inch for defects once you get item home i called home depot Immediately and the customer service acted swiftly they ordered another door and had a crate service pick up the used door plus wave the shipping fee and gave me an additional 15 percent off my new order masterpiece gave me no apologizes wanted me to keep the door if it was workable they didnt care anout the condition of item the customer service dept need better training in sensitively and compassion to customers.

Great looking door, that's solid and slides smooth and easy. The DP50 rating and low e glass are a must to meet coastal building codes. The sliding panel has a built in secondary lock and anti lift block for added security. One draw back is that the screen is not included.

I'm giving this a 3 because the door arrived damaged. The overall door is solid and air tight but the slider for the built in blinds on the one door is crushed on the side that is against the door and the only way that can happen is in the factory. The slider only slides half way up. I emailed the company following the warranty procedure and have not heard anything back yet. I'll update as status changes and when they respond to my warranty claim.

The composite door with woodgrain interior was a fair price for the quality of this door. The woodgrain interior was fairly easy to stain with Gelstain and covered with polyurethane per instructions. Finish came out looking beautiful. The door when delivered had damage on the track roller due to the rollers making dents in the track. The door appeared to have had support blocks under the active panel to prevent this damage but one of the blocks was missing and the panel had shifted allowing the track and roller contact to occur. This also caused some damage on the small silicon alignment air dams located at the top and bottom of the active panel slide areas. Cosmetically , the outside corner joints were somewhat misaligned which took away from the overall beauty of the door. I would have to say other than the outer corner joint misalignment, this is a great door at the price paid. It seems to roll fairly easy after I used pliers to straighten the dented roller track. Overall I would probably take another chance at buying this door hoping the shipment would be better. Not a bad investment for the price and knowledge that it won't rot or swell.

Replaced old sliding door that had been leaking with this one. Been installed for a couple of months, still slides well, keeps rain, insects and drafts out. Door installation was some work, mainly due to the framing of my house and some rot repair. Two person job to get the door to the site and maneuver it into place. The lock mechanism is a little wonky at first, even after adjustment but is working well most of the time. The manufacturer would do well to not screw packaging screws through to mess up the exterior weather stripping grooves. Overall am pleased with it.

I was very happy with this door choice and ease of installation. This is a hard decision, as so many sliders are astronomical in price and out of many's (mine included's) price range. Also some bad reviews of less expensive doors leave you wary. I am a home handyman but have worked on building crews and so I have a good modicum of construction experience. The installation was pretty straight forward, the quality, fit and function of the door was/has been excellent. We have had the door in for the past winter and it has made a huge difference in our living room temperature. The slider and latch work like a charm! A few caveats: 1. You need to have experience putting in doors and/or windows, not for the newbie 2. Follow the directions! Read them beforehand so you have a solid idea as to the sequence of the installation. 3. Make sure your measurements are correct and that the sill, header and sides are clean and square. 4. Two strong people and a spotter are required to put the door in place. 5. There is low expanse foam made especially for sliders and opening windows. It make the job of insulating between the wedges much easier, but honor sufficiency and necessity, the stuff expands quickly and is a mess. Wear rubber gloves, do not get on skin! The good new is it cleans of the composite very easily.

Finally....we have a working and great looking patio door
We had an older, wooden patio door when we bought our home. After years of wear and tear, letting in drafts and small insects (Gross!), we found a great looking and affordable sliding patio door at Home Depot. It took my father in-law and I roughly four (4) hours to install but that included picking up the door, going back to Home Depot for supplies and putting up the trim and caulk. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our purchase!

Perfect size for a small, older home.
Was a job to install, but door is of nice quality and the final result looks great. Like the dual locking feature and while it took a little effort, I was able to get the key lock aligned and functioning well. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the door.

                      A great choice
This door was shipped to my home and arrived well packaged and with no damage. This had been one of my concerns, however it went off with out a hitch. Installation was a breeze with help. The door is very heavy, or solid so it does take 3 people when it is time to move it in to place. The door requires a rough opening of 60" due to 2 small bolts from the locking mechanism. You can trim them or the frame to overcome any size issue. Once installed the door works perfectly. It glides easily and seals well. The in window blinds work perfectly. This is a great door for the dollar value!
