Installed mrcool in 4 hrs love the product would install another

First and Foremost, THANK YOU to Home Depot for the Best in Class customer service concerning our order and their after the sale attention/actions that will forever be appreciated and remembered... Took 2 days from start to finish on the installation of our DIY 4th Gen 24K unit but well worth the effort and we still cannot believe how QUIET the interior component is even when running fan on high... Our complete home is now comfortably cool while the outside temps are ranging in the mid 90's and we are extremely pleased with the features of our new MR COOL... Our Expectations were exceeded in every aspect of installation and the wealth of information available on online in video form was extremely helpful as well... We will recommend this unit to family and friends and also the help we received from Home Depot will be a story we tell for years to come!!!

Still a work in progress. Poor instructions, poor customer support by MRCOOL, local store doesn't keep a list of techs that can work on this. After 5 days still not working, may have to rewire the circuit as 25 amps requires 10/2 wire [indoor and outdoor] and a hard to find circuit breaker. Unit looks good, now if it would just work.

Three hours after getting the unit delivered i had AC in my room. Another hour to make it look nice and professional after doing tests on my weekender install skills and i was done. It cools down my room fast. Its quiet. Instructions are easy to follow and lots of videos online as well if you look. I love this unit the app is easy and to the point and its completely quiet compaired to the 20 year old unit i replaced. Im as happy as you can be and will be putting another one in the garage.

Works great and install was easy but learning the differences between the Mr. Cool product line was challenging and I now have an extra 25 ft line set because I needed a 50 ft and didn’t know how to order compressor and indoor unit w/o the included line therefore I did waste money.

I bought 3 of these units, installed them, and got an HVAC tech to inspect them prior to use. 3 years later, 2 of the units have completely stopped cooling. HVAC tech said that they both have refrigerant leaks. MrCool will warranty parts, but not labor or lost refrigerant. The costs of repair are comparable to a new unit.

My unit worked wonders during summer time after installing but as soon as winter come, and we switched to heat mode my unit started failing, I call my Hvca tech to check it out thinking it was and easy fix, he told me the compressor wasn't working properly, he and I both been trying to contact MRcool by all means but they never replied back. 0 customer service. I'm so disappointed because the product and they promise really got me.

Installation was easy, and the instructions were clear. However, the unit didn't work. No error code, it just blew very cold air even in heating mode. I called tech support several times, and was told that a technician would call me back. It's been 2 weeks and I've heard nothing. I'm giving up and returning this to Home Depot. I'm sure these units are great IF they work, but they sure seem like a big gamble. You really don't have very many options when they break: you're either at the mercy of MRCOOL's non-existent technical support, or you can pay an HVAC pro (if you can even find one that will work on a DIY unit). If you're not willing to deal with that kind of a fiasco, just pay an HVAC company to install a non-DIY unit, and enjoy the reliability and the peace of mind knowing that you have someone you can call for service if you have any problems.

easy to install and works as advertised, this is the second DIY unit in the past 3 years. I could recommend having options for the DIY rather than having only one option of 25' lines that maybe in the purchase have different length options: say like 10' or 15' rather than 25' only options. This install I needed about 8' overall and about the same on previous install. I am going to look into purchasing a set of lines shorter, I know they will need charged but...

The installation requires some time and some skills, but it can be done by persons, who aren’t experts in this field. It may require electrician to install electric line. It may require a second person to help hanging the indoor unit, and positioning the outdoor unit. The second person’s assistance may also be needed during the initial stage of connecting lines between indoor and outdoor unit. However, the whole process of installation is rather straightforward, and provided introductions are good and easy to fallow. So far it works great and I like it a lot. It is a good investment, if it lasts.

Installation was fairly straight forward, 25 foot lines are too long for most first and second floor installs, but not a problem. Just be careful when coiling excess lines. Save big bucks and do it yourself. Any DIYer can do this no problem. You will need an electrician for running power to the unit. Operation is simple with the remote. Home depot is not listing the 115 volt unit right now.

They claim this product will work for a 500 sq ft space but it doesn’t work anywhere near that. They have the worst customer service and do not stand behind their product. It took months for them to get back to me, only to blame me and say that I undersized the unit for the space. They lied about what the unit can do and then blame the customer. Also, their “pre-charged” lines came undercharged and cost me a $700 repair from a local tech on a brand new unit that is under warranty! DO NOT BUY

AC portion works great. Cooled the entire area with temperatures in the 80’s and high 90’s. Heat works great when outside temperatures are above 32°. Anything below that, the unit is worthless. Outdoor Unit will kick on, but never really produce any heat indoor as the swing stays in position 1, never opens fully even in auto swing mode. Then it will go into Defrost mode, and repeat every 30-40 min. The only way the heat function works properly, even at 19° is when you put it in turbo mode…

I never write reviews but for this company I had to make an exception. Worst customer service ever and don’t stand behind their product. They say their 12k unit will work for a 500sq ft space but it doesn’t come anywhere near. Have a problem? They dont answer the phone. I had to have home depot call them in order to get a representative on the phone. Then when you tell them the unit is not working properly, they tell you its undersized for your space and its your fault. Even though all their online calculators says 12k is the proper size. Oh and their “precharged” lines came undercharged and since noone would answer the phone for a month during 90 degree weather, i had to pay a local tech to investigate and recharge the lines. With no sypathy or reimbersent from Mr cool. 90 degrees outside and the thing wont cool the room to anything leas than 85 degrees. Now I’m stuck with an expessive piece of wall art that Mr cool will claim no responsibilty for. DO NOT BUY

Put the unit in my workshop in the garage. Relatively easy installation. I called customer service to determine if I could bend the tubes to keep the lines inside the garage. They were helpful and quickly told me the procedure. My only issue is that we should be able to order the length of line set from a selection. I needed 16' and had to use a 25' and coil the excess which looks poorly. Landscaping hides it. Second Mr Cool I have installed . First one is 10 years old and going strong.

My husband installed this and it is working great! I would highly recommend this brand and model to anyone wanting a mini split.

Don’t buy this. Seriously. We got a no working unit and it’s been weeks and weeks with no resolution in sight. Can’t return to HD because we are past the return window. Can’t get Mr. Cool to move at a reasonable pace and so summer has become fall and I doubt we will even have a working unit by wintertime. Huge waste of money.
