They quoted free shipping on all online orders but told me under no circumstances that this could happen and it took a month and a half to get the product. But the product was great. I have 120 sq ft laid and no broken tiles. The tiles cut well and also didn't break. Now... what to do with the extra 20% I usually need for breakage.....

Please know that EVERY tile looks slightly different as this is real stone slate. Also, order several boxes extra because you will have breakage with shipping and some of the tiles are not the same depth as the others. You can put all of these back in the boxes and return them and get your money back. So, no loss. I absolutely LOVE this tile and there are many color options for decorating. Also, it must be laid in a certain, different manner than regular tile so make sure that you have a contractor familiar with laying real stone tiles.

Easy to install! We used black unsanded grout. We love this slate! We didn't have pieces that wouldn't match up. We were able to use every piece. It took 2 boxes of slate to cover a 6' x 4' area. Definately would recommend!

Looks beautiful installed. Be aware there are natural variations in the thickness of the surface so you may have one corner that sits slightly higher or lower than others . Also, the boxes are not 10 sq ft, they are less so make sure to account for that in your 10% overage estimate. I ended up one tile short due to cuts because there were 7 sq ft missing based on the 12x24 measurement, which is inaccurate.

Great product, consistent thickness and beautiful color.

We cut this to 3x12 tiles to make a herringbone pattern in our bathrooms and laundry room. It looks beautiful and cut easily. We have had it installed for a little over a week now and so far we are very pleased.

Had issues with delievery that was eventually handled very welll by customer service. Profesionally installed in herringbone pattern with a light gray grout. Some uneveniness due to natural formation of stone. No issues different colors

This product is more gray than blue. It's beautiful. The experts say it's easy to work with and of good quality! We are very pleased. We may tile the sidewalk as well. It has certainly dressed up our entrance.

We were hesitant only because of the charcoal color being too dark. Originally looking to have something that would have been lighter. The color variations bring so much depth and classic look to the rooms. Very modern. Feels great to walk on too! Great product! We absolutely love these floors. Put it in kitchen, office and mud room.

We modernized our master bathroom, and it looks just beautiful! Very modern and hip! We combined it with black mosaic pebbles in the shower, frameless glass shower stall and freestanding bright white bathtub. However, the slate scratches easily, for out bathroom it does not matter, but I would think twice about putting it down in a kitchen or other heavy traffic area.

Very nice natural slate product with beautiful colors. Cuts easy and looks great. Only minor down side is every piece seems vary in thickness up to 1/8" so puting it together can be tricky.

The delivery was professional and well crated. The 20 (2'x2') large natural slate, gauged tiles are perfect for my new kitchen counter top project. I wanted natural gray soapstone but the slate tiles are a great alternative. It was disappointing though that one of the tile had a large crack from the factory (see picture), and could not be used for counter top. The quality control is questionable given the large cracks had to be evident when the packaging was prepared, and had nothing to do with shipping. The crack was very evident and still had the water stain around it from the blade that cut the tile. I contacted Home Depot and went to the store with the tiles to try and obtain replacement. The representative at Home Depot asked me to leave the tile with them so they could have a manager look at it. I received an email saying I had to return the entire pallet and could not have the one tile replaced. Given the shipping cost to send the entire pallet of 20 tiles back to replacement, this was not acceptable. After three phone calls to the online Home Depot customer service department, and explaining the situation I was able to get a credit for one tile. Nice product but expect possible damage and lack of quality control, and issues with trying to get replacement. I would recommend this product but with reservations. It may be less of a hassle getting these tiles from a local store.

This slate tile has beautiful colors. I ordered 2 extra boxes: 1 for breakage and 1 so I could select the colors I most wanted to use. The price was reasonable enough that I felt it worth it to buy extra to maximize my color choice. They were packaged well, but slate breaks easily so there was some breakage. The tiles vary in thickness because it is slate, but my tile man was able to make it work. The colors really come out when you use a tile impregnator and then a high gloss sealer. I used it on a counter top and it looks great - I get a lot of compliments on it.

I purchased these tiles for the floor in our screened in porch in April 2017. After searching for many weeks for a floor tile for our new addition, I stumbled on these tiles in a search. I went to my local Home Depot and purchased one tile, brought it home, and thought the color and texture were exactly what I was looking for. The best part is the price! I was thrilled to pay about $3/sq ft for what looks like a luxury tile. I purchased approx. 160 sq ft and the installer mixed the pieces from the different boxes. If you look at the photos, you can see variations in the color. It looks natural spread out across the floor. I absolutely love the finished look of the floor. Because this is a natural tile, there are many variations in color, the surface texture is rough, and the color changed slightly when I sealed it. It's a dark, smoky, blue grey. It's such a warm, neutral color that blends with the furniture and the outside.

Ordered online and had it shipped to my house. Arrived promptly and packaged well. With the stone being natural, you do need to go through the boxes. Not one stone is the same, but that's the best part! Love the variation. Just go through the pieces to make sure there is no unwanted pattern. Some pieces are solid in color, either light or dark and some have ridges that give it character. Out of the 25 boxes I ordered, there was maybe 1 box that was unusable as a full tile, but that is to be expected as well. These tiles are HEAVY! Make sure your floor is prepared and supported correctly. Tile size was very consistent. I installed with tight 1/16" joints and looks great. Using a wetsaw, these tiles cut like butter. Everyone that comes over is very impressed with the finished product.

ordered 2 boxes, 10 each. received only 19 tiles, 3 of which were broken, and 1 crumbed into several peices in my hand. These tiles do not share the same colors in them either.

Installed 12 boxes of qty 10 each to match existing floor. Slate matched even though it came from India. Originals came from China (I had the old box from the previous homeowner). About 10% were cut so inconsistent that they were marginally useable. Thicknesses vary greatly which made installation a bit of a challenge. This was important because of matching up with existing tile. Colors were slightly different but not to far off the installed tiles. Cutting was a breeze with my circular wet saw. Matching grout was the biggest challenge but it turn out great. Buy extras for broken or unusable tiles. Planning to seal and color enhance which make the tiles really pop with color.

Excellent slate for the price! These are big and heavy. Not recommended for beginners. If you're new to slate then get some 12" x 12" and do some small projects at first. You will occasionally get some bad tiles in each case (5 pieces). I order multiple cases and then consolidate the bad tiles into one case and return that case. You will find tiles that are cracked down the middle or have a broken corner, etc. One of the ways that I use the 16" x 16" slate tiles for making inset shelving in walls. You do this by cutting the drywall away between the studs in a wall, then cutting and placing the tile in the wall to make a shelf. It's a little complicated so I'm including a picture (a little fuzzy because I used my phone and it wasn't very bright in the room). You can also cut them into thin strips (about 2" x 16") and set them on a small wall. Like I say, slate is the new paint!

It's a beautiful natural stone with coloring variations within and between squares. Used for a fireplace hearth and matches the Rustique stacked stone panels I used for the front of the fireplace well. It's a pain to install though and I was glad I ordered a lot of extra. First, many of the tiles in the box were cracked or split, especially corners. We laid out all the tiles we had and sorted them for color and thickness and to have the chipped parts in cut off sections. They also are tricky to cut, tend to break or shear layers off so lost a few more there. The huge thickness variation between squares (and sometimes from side to side on a square tile) made it impossible to get a totally level floor and there are uneven seams, but my tile guy did a decent job of matching and said the variation is part of the charm of natural stone floors. We went with no grout and that seemed to work well. I did some leveling of the seams by taking a small hammer and chisel and carefully shearing off layers of stone, so where the height varied the variations were moved to be within the tile along natural looking tile layers, rather than having differences at the edges where tiles meet.

I just purchased 21 cases of this via internet, so far I've opened 10 cases... NONE of them have the blue tones in them... there's even a stamp on the boxes that say Green/Grey I was expecting a considerable color variation, so I ordered about 25% extra, but in the cases I've opened so far, there are only 10 pieces that resemble the online pictures (more of the darker grey slate look) I'm redoing my bathroom with this and 2 other tile types, the others are a white porcelain and a gold/earth-tone cloth texture... The pale grey/green pieces I've received will not work for my plans. I planned this to be a medium-dark blue grey, that'd make the other colors "pop" this makes the color combo look like overcooked school lunch corn and green beans... The tiles look alright (not for my purposes though) while wet, otherwise, they look chalky, and are much duller than I expected... The vast majority of tiles look more like the paler green represented on the website, only considerably paler and chalky... The few darker grey slate looking ones, were expected and usable, but still no blue tiles at all, which are the ones I liked so much, and would work great for my project. After ordering more than 700$ of tile including 25% extra, to have only 10 usable pieces half way through sorting is ridiculous... I have 11 more boxes to look through, but feel I'd be wasting my time, I cannot complete my project with these even if every piece left is exactly what I'd hoped for... It's crazy that I'll need to take 600 LBS of these back to the store, then wait another 2 weeks before I can start my project... I'm very unhappy with the representation of this product on this website. My picture shows the sorted tiles with wet and dry sections...

The listing picture is completely wrong. The tile is actually blue/slate/green. The tile quality is excellent. and I am extremely critical and frustrated with most materials these days. I highly recommend this slate it is durable easily cut with diamond blade and looks beautiful once sealed properly.

Product is represented to be 8.9 sq' per case, only received 7.25 sq', 3 of the 5 tiles were broken and only one fell into the Rustic Earth Color tone, the other tiles were gray-black with an occasional splotch of Rustic Earth

The tiles came well packaged and undamaged. They look great after a coat of sealer has been applied to them (they darken up a little).

Love this flooring! Installed it in my bathroom and loved it so much I put it in our entrance way. Planning on remodeling the other bathroom with it as well and hoping to use on the walls of a walk in shower!

I used this tile to cover a 16 x 24 concrete patio that was showing its age. The result was outstanding. This slate though heavy was ideal for the job. Totally pleased.
