I have an old non-standard "Hoover" branded shop vacuum that needed a filter & I was able to make this work - just had to wrap some tape around the filter "receiver" on the vac to tighten the seal a bit. Glad I found it! Good suction with the new filter.

Works but smells horrible even after a few months
Purchased this filter a few months ago. Even after this much time, the filter emits a horrible chemical smell to the point that I worry about using it indoors. Unwrapping it when it was new was an unpleasant experience and in use the smell is equally bad. Since the smell is still present during use, I've decided to try to find an alternative filter, and if I can't, I'm going to replace the vacuum with a model that has a different replacement filter. Absolutely do not recommend this product.

The odor should be less to the point of eliminating it, with a couple of hours when using the vacuum. There was nothing wrong with the filter, but one of the pictures showed the outside diameter being 7.1", and it clearly is between 7.25" & 7.3" so it didn't fit my unique vacuum.

it fit my 12 gallon Shopvac, though this filter is an enclosed cylinder so the cap which was holding the manufacturer filter does not go back on.

After purchasing our Craftsman Shop Vac from your store 2 years ago, we find it difficult to replace the filter due to supply issues. Your staff told me that you didn't carry the product I was looking for even when I explained that we purchased it here. After looking all over the shelf, I found a no name brand that actually fit. Unbelievable.

Fit my 5 gallon shop vac perfectly
Is was a bit worried it was to big for the small 5 gallon shop vac but it fit great and so much better than the universal fitter paper and rubber band filter.
