I love the pretty, red colored Retro Countertop Microwave by Magic Chef. It matches really well with the black and stainless steel appliances in my kitchen, and provides just the right amount pop of color. The 700-watt of power performed well when I cooked a breakfast meal, soup, and popcorn. The turntable plate rotates perfectly and ensured even heat distribution. The power on/off is a turn style knob that is easy to turn even for older adults who have less strength. The microwave is small and weighs less than 20 lbs., so it's perfect for a dorm, game room, or apartment.

Great little retro microwave for my basement craft room! Made by Magic Chef it is 0.7 cubic feet, the outside dimensions W 17.7 x H 10.2 x D 12.8 in. Just the right size for a dorm or small apartment. The top knob is for different heat settings from gentle heating to high, the bottom knob is the power control. There is a light and glass tray in the microwave. Looks great sitting on the cupboard. The only problem we ran into was it did not sit even on the counter, we even moved it around and it was still uneven. Overall a very nice microwave.

Magic Chef's Retro Microwave is so Cool. The Perfect Space Saver. The 0.7 cu. ft. capacity is enough to Cook or Heat most dishes. A Turn Table with a Glass Plate comes with it and it Lights up while in use. The Manual has some Recipe's in the back. I wondered about Popcorn and went by the Manual and listened to the sound and when it quit popping it was Perfect. Love the Retro Look.

Unable to accurately set time by seconds with dial setting. Lightweight, must hold oven still while opening door.

It is uneven. It has a dent in top and the door doesn’t stay open because it is uneven. Now on the phone with Home Depot finding out how to return it. Been on hold for 15 minutes. ?

Nice product, but the mint green was closer to an aqua color. I decided to keep it anyway, even though it doesn’t match the light green in my kitchen. So far it is working very well!

Exactly what we wanted! We were looking for a lower wattage, simple microwave to fit into our retro kitchen. Looks and color definitely were important. This microwave does what we need: basic defrosting and reheating. We've received so many compliments on the color and design! We love it!

Handle broke in less than a year, turning plate is constantly wonky and makes an awful noise. The minutes dial is incredibly inaccurate and you can’t dial in anything under a minute. I wanted to love this cute little analog microwave, but I really hate it.

I loved the look of this microwave but it was a little too small for a regular size dinner plate so I returned it and will be purchasing a larger 1.1 cf one.

Two years after purchase (but a year and a half into actual use) the defrost setting has stopped working, and a replacement part is not available. MC Appliance offered to send a free replacement but white is also no longer available and it would just be something else to toss in the landfill. This one still functions for now but I'll be looking for a decent-looking brand with replacement parts, if such exists.

The power is shown in 8 levels (with Roman numerals) rather than 10, like other microwaves, so recipes than state power level in percent are going to need you to do some math. Is 3/8 -- actually III/VIII -- closer to 30% or 40%? The time is selected by turning a dial, so precise timing, like 15 sec or 1.5 minutes, is impossible. You just turn the thing on, and turn it off when it seems good to you. But all of these quirks are kinda fun, and I absolutely love the way this microwave looks in my kitchen. 5 stars.

So tendu & functional

It is a very fun retro microwave, we pirched the matching fridge and our kitchen aid was the same color so it was a no Brainerd to get the matching microwave. It is very simple to use and so far has been good quality.

Fits perfectly in my small kitchen both size-wise and it’s vintage red color! Like the dials rather than digital controls. Dinner plates fit perfectly! Very happy with it!

It’s great, it looks very retro in my kitchen. The one problem is it’s very light weight. I have to hold the microwave w/ one hand when I open the door w/ the other hand. If you just open the door the microwave is so lightweight it will slide straight off the counter! Beware!!

stopped working after only a couple of weeks, makes a loud noise but does not heat up the food at all.

Bought on October 26th, 2019, occasionally it would stop working in the middle of a cycle. On December 21st, 2022, it suddenly began sparking and shorting out. I have no way of knowing if this was a random trait, or if all Kitchen Chef products are poorly made. The price to replace this with the same model is about $50+ more than I originally paid, so I decided to not buy the same model. It's a shame, because it's cute and the microwave was seldom used as it's in a master bedroom.

Cute. Very easy to use. Plenty powerful. Looks great in my retro kitchen! Love the dial no buttons to try to read with my fading vision! And rings bell when done. Once! No reminder annoying beeping anymore! Absolutely love it!❤️

The microwave is the perfect accent red color on my kitchen counter and just the right size. The knobs are straightforward and easy to use. When heating is finished, there’s a cheery ding ring. It does its job well and I enjoy using my new microwave.

I really wanted to like this. Until now, we really enjoyed it. The microwave was very off-balance. But, we didn't see that as a huge problem. Today, we were heating an instant ramen and the timer stopped. Unfortunately, the ramen didn't cook. But, the microwave safe bowl did. We used it yesterday with no trouble.. We only used it to cook ramen and heat water for tea...then only at 2-3 minutes on med. heat.
