The guard is easy to adjust, you can change the wheels out fairly quickly, and it’s got a good trigger switch that’s stiff enough you can’t bump it and turn it on, but not so stiff that it’s tiring after prolonged use. It’s a good example of rugged simplicity that does whatever you ask of it.

This makita ir feel good is a nice zise and the braking in the blade is good and I dislake the dosen't lock the triger other than that is a good grinder

Makita has stepped up there game again after failing to keep up with Milwaukee and Dewalt. Best tool in this category.

Love the brake on it

Pretty poor design features. Same old trigger that goes out in the first year. Spark guard can't be moved more than 1/8 of a turn without getting jammed between the housing and can't be pulled off without tools. Only has a one year warranty compared to 3 & 5 year warranties from competition.

Great piece of equipment to have when doing tuff jobs

My only disappointment is that it doesnt run without holding the trigger . Otherwise its a 5 star.

I don't need to say anything about the Makita brand. I own a ton of their tools for a reason. No exception in this case. I'm not a professional, just an active DIY-er and I find myself reaching for this tool often. This thing has come in handy in ways I hadn't expected. I've used it to cut small pathway stones in my backyard (worked surprisingly well, though worth nothing they were quite thin). It also ground out rusted screws in an old metal fence I was replacing, and removed rust from my outdoor metal water feature. I saw other reviewers used it to sharpen garden tools and shears (so obviously I immediately did the same). I'll admit it works so well and so flawlessly that sometimes look for reasons to use it. Highly recommend!

Purchased the grinder at a very good special sticker price. Got it out of the box and affixed the necessary parts. Then I sharpened and balanced blades for the lawnmower, which I had purchased at Home Depot a few years ago. Thoroughly satisfied.

This is a great grinder. It's lightweight (only 5.9 pounds) and easy to handle. Out of the box it does not require much assembly. This 10.5 AMP grinder is perfect for small and medium tasks. The Ergonomic handles makes it so you do not get as fatigued while using it. The grinder does come with one grinder wheel. The 8 foot cord is also nice allowing you to have a little distance without using an extension cord.

Easy to change out grinding wheel. The guard is easy to loosen and turn and tighten up again. The weight seems about the same as the one I had before. Nice strong motor to be able to put some pressure on the grinder to make it more aggressive at grinding and doesn't slow down. Nice addition to my workshop. Only thing I wish it had was a case of some kind to keep everything together. Still worth having. Great tool.
