I am impressed with how long these 5ah batteries last. If you only have these two you will be able to charge one full before the other ones needs charging.

I really like the Makita line of tools great quality and reliability. These batteries are great they last a long time because of how the charger keeps them cool while charging. I got them a great price.

Summary: An otherwise great lawn vacuum, is not useable in our yard because mulched leaves get blown out the vacuum bag mesh vent. (see pictures) Background: Initial impression was good. We were happy to have the batteries instead of the electric cord. Makita has a nice battery system (LXT) and associated selection of tools. The balance/weight of the vacuum was ok, once we figured out the straps. However, on the second use we noticed mulched leaves and mulched pine needle being blow out of the back of the bag into our swimming pool. The mulch powder settling in the pool made the "mulch blow through" issue more obvious. A signicant pile of mulch ended up in the pool which may not have been noticed so much on the lawn. Not good because mulch ends up in the pool filter system!! Only after a mulch ended up drifting in the pool did we take a closer look at the vacuum bag. The mesh vent openings are larger than the size of the mulch bits. Thus, some portion of the bag content just blows out through the mesh. Not good at all. We previously had a corded electric Black & Decker Lawn Vacuum and a corded electric Toro Lawn Vac. The corded Black & Decker and Toro vacuum bag (that we have had) *did*not* have any mesh vents on the associated bags! The Black & Decker and Toro vacuum bag fabric have been solid. Based on our prior lawn vacuum experience, we expected the lawn vacuum bag to keep the vacuumed/mulched content in the bag until we emptied the bag. To make matter worse, the Makita marketing materials seem to only show the side of the bag without the mesh. So, we can not tell if mesh has been removed in the replacement bags. Bottom Line: The mesh vent in the vacuum bag can be a deal breaker. An otherwise nice vacuum is not useable in our yard with a swimming pool. Only buy this model if you want some percentage of the bagged contents to be blown back out.

All my battery powered tools are Makita so any time Home Depot has these 2pks on sale I grab them up. I love my Makita tools they have performed perfectly every time.

The best saw I have

Got these on clearance. Perfect size and run time. They are the same size as the 3.0Ah ones but with a longer run time. Note: They will not work with older Makita tools that don't have the star on the battery receiver or yellow receiver and don't support the safety features of the newer batteries. Check the notches. Will not work with the bigger notch.

I had the 2.0ah that came with the drill which did great. But these are amazing. I have yet to have a project that I have ran these 5ah to even half. I wish I would have bought them a long time ago. I love the push bottom power indicator. The 5ah are only 1/2 longer than the 2ah batteries and the weight difference is minimal.

They work good but they don’t fit in my sawzal or circular saw or angle grinder they are only a few years old and were the primary reason for getting the bigger batteries I am pretty upset about them not working in my tools

Battery worked well for me, I used this for my x2 tracksaw. Not enough to drain the battery so I can not attest to how long they will last for. Also with the rapid charger they charge in 45minutes which is greater

I needed to buy new batteries to complete a deck project after my last original 3.0Ah battery died (after 12-13 years), and swapping around the one 4.0Ah battery I had really slowed things down ("Are you done with the battery yet? OK. Throw it over to me.") The fuel gauge is pretty nice after all the years of not knowing how close you were to a dead battery. And the capacity is pretty amazing. I used the packs for hours of screwing or drilling into pressure-treated lumber, and rarely got to half power. The only thing that challenged the batteries was the circular saw; cutting through a very wet, pressure-treated 2x12, cutting stair stringers. 12 feet took 3 batteries (almost with 2).

Long lasting battery. Used it to power a random orbital sander for 30 minutes, almost continuously. Still had 2 bars. Plugged it in the reciprocating saw to remove a door. Still showed 2 bars. They also last a while on the circular saw. With (2) 3Ah, (1) 4Ah, (2) 5Ah batteries & two chargers, I have enough batteries for all day, powering drill, impact driver, recip saw, circular saw, RO sander, and grinder. The battery level indicator is handy, but Makita should put them on the same side as the release button. As it is, when you plug the battery in, you can't check the battery level without first removing it.

These worked great, though I found out later that Home Depot online sold the higher capacity set of 6ah batteries for $50 less, so I'd suggest checking online before buying in the store.

Holy crap !! 300 dollars for two lithium batteries. But I had to buy this because the original ones that were sent to me along with the Makita edger tool were defective. I have since resolved this with a replacement from a Makita authorized service center.
