it didn't even last 5 min of use and...
it didn't even last 5 min of use and it burned out I had to return it and it is not the first time this happens to me I buy makitas from other vendors and i don't have any issues with theirs and I like to buy them at home depot because you can buy the extended warranty but lately nothing but bad grinders

Safety Guard was an afterthought
First, my unit like others have stated there are noticeable scratches right from the box.
My real issue with this grinder is the safety guard does not allow you to install type 27 discs. I don't believe it is safe to operate without a guard so operating it without it isn't an option. Next, it requires a screwdriver to tighten it in place. Makita obviously just through this on as an afterthought. As far as the longevity of the grinder I am not sure as I have only had it for a couple of weeks.
