I really like this saw but it has a couple drawbacks - the blade guard tends to get caught on the wood sometimes and needs to be manually rotated back or it interferes with your cut. Also, there is nowhere to stow the blade removal tool like most circular saws. C'mon, Makita! how did you overlook that? Otherwise it's a pretty good saw. That 2 batteries give it a lot of power and they tend to last a long time. The blade angle adjustment has a positive stop setting making it easy to get the angle you need on the blade and the depth adjustment is easy too. It has a battery level readout on top of the handle. It also has a rafter hook which might come in handy up on a roof, not to mention not needing a power cord. It also has a button that you push in to hold the saw blade if you want to change the blade. I really like that. Note that this box was the tool only, and did not come with any batteries or charger. You'll need 2 batteries to run it too. I happened to have 2 Makita batteries already so I just got the tool only model. I've come to really like Makita tools. I think they're very well made. I have their cordless angle grinder too and it's one of my favorite tools.

Not accurate and the two stage trigger is annoying. The batteries are difficult to remove, though the battery indicator Is a nice feature. Probably going to return it and buy the DEWALT flex volt worm drive.

This thing is a BEAST! I used two 18v 5ah, and a 9” Diablo pruning blade with carbide tipped teeth to continue clearing a property after using my Makita XCU04 chainsaw on the big stuff. I used the the heck out of that Diablo blade. In the end I retired the blade, and hung it on the wall. The battery management is amazing! A couple of hours later the batteries still showed full!

This is my second one of these saws. The only difference is the first one was the earlier version with no Bluetooth AWS feature. Having the Makita AWS vacuum makes for a much cleaner work area, and worth the cost. I can run this saw all day on a pair of 5.0 batteries. We have been switching over to 6.0 as we go, they last even longer. Saw is well built, and once setup stays true. We use this daily, all day long with no issues
