Very powerful and oem chain is the best one I've ever got with a saw. I ordered two skip chains also to cut a 38" round ash and the makita put the other guys 455 rancher to shame, revs faster, with very little bogging compared to the 455 (both saws running 20" bar and new Oregon skip chains)

Ease of use :
I'm sure it's a great saw however when I got it and went to assemble it the chain tensioner broke. Put the chain and bar on and when using the little screw driver supplied the tensior snapped in 2 as soon as I got the chain was about to tighten up. Upon inspection it's a very flimsy peice. Looked online for a new one and it's already been discontinued and replaced with a new part number. Hopefully that one is stronger.

Most don’t know that Makita bought the oldest and arguably the best German saw company. They only changed the name, but kept all their design and even the color! They knew the importance of the color to those that know these saws are the best. All metal construction, even the tensioner, which on husky and stilhl are plastic. These saws are priced below the name brands that you would usually think of, but are a much better quality.

Finally, a chainsaw I don't spend all my time & energy trying to start!Lots of power, and the anti-vibration lets me keep working much longer. With my old Homelite, my hands would be numb after 10 minutes.Well worth the premium price tag!
The Makita Chain Saw I bought is easy to assemble and 20' s is a big chain, it has good power to make big cuts. The only drawback I encountered was that the parts were hard to find, for example replacement chains for the chain saw, were not sold in retail stores.
