First impression...good.
I've not taken the compressor through its paces yet, but did run the break-in exercise, waited a while, then let compressor build pressure till shutoff. It has be sitting for weeks and is still on full capacity. It seems well built and has good fit and finish. Project coming up that will prove its virtues or flaws.

I did purchased with the intent of using for a small to medium paint job around the house, so far only used for blowing saw dust from a piece of work I’m working on and noticed that kind looses pressure not sure how it’s gonna respond to a spray gun.

    Power & capacity to spare
This compressor has more than adequate power and capacity to handle most home owner projects. Among other jobs, I use it to winterize my lawn sprinkler system. It is a bit loud for working within my garage but not unbearable. Disposable ear plugs muffle the sound quite well.

Great for framing. It’ll run several guns without overheating. Much better than the oil free ones I’ve been burning up.

I knew it met all my requirements except I was afraid it would be too loud based on the reviews I've read. Turns out it's not all that much louder than the craftsman pancake I replaced. Yet it does everything better. The one knock I have is that it's pretty heavy when it comes to loading it in and out of my truck.

    2 have broke now
I have bought two of these over the past 5 years. They did work great and I really liked them but the first one the control module went out on it. Took it to Makita repair center and they said that it would cost more to fix than to buy a new one. So I bought a new one thinking maybe it was a bad luck. But after a couple of years once again the control module on the motor kick off went on it as well. Usually Makita tools are great, but run from this one. Bought a Metabo and we will see how that works

      Trips it’s own breaker.
Worked great for several years. Light duty around the house now it trips it’s own breaker when it reaches 80psi. Customer service is a script reading person that has probably never turned a wrench in their life. I have all makita power tools that work great so I was expecting the same from their compressor but not so.

Excellent and highly mobile source of air. I have a large 220v shop compressor but needed an additional device I could roll outside or transport, a compressor that would operate on 120v current and still provide 4+ cfm. This Makita does it all. It's heavy--that's fine, it's all metal--but the wheels are sturdy and it's easy to handle even on gravel. Glad I bought it.

Unit works great but gave 3 stars because unit is very heavy and wheels and axle are a bad design. I had to return first unit because it would not roll, wheels looked like they were warped and would bind against the frame. Second unit is better, wheels loo warped but does roll so I kept it since compressor works great.

Nice little compressor. Did the run in, charged up the air tank, used it for several small jobs and the compressor had no problem keeping pressure up.

        Awesome and convenient compressor.
What an amazing compressor. Replacing my 20 gallon husky with this unit as will be good in my shop as well as on job sites. Highly recommended it. Little things make it wonderful. The area to wrap up air hose will hold the hose even when you fold down the handle. And the storage area is perfect for small attachments like a blower and a tire gauge/filler.

Doesn’t meet rated specs. Not even close.
The compressor is rated for most tools. It’s an absolute lie. 6.9@40 and 6.5@90 should run everything. I get about 30 seconds out of any air tool before it stops. It refills fairly quickly but gets behind and the tool stops turning. I spent more money than I could afford at the time because I trusted Makita and they said it would support my needs. It doesn’t. At all. This is good for brad nailers or inflating tires, but every cheap compressor does that. Now I have to go buy a bigger compressor.
