Fantastic! Easy start on this unit. The several attachments that are provided with the unit makes this a very versatile machine. Use at idle on mulched areas to blow off leaves and pine needles, increase rpm with the hand held trigger and clean hardscape areas as well as your entire yard in no time. I would definitely suggest this unit for purchase.

What features stand out most? - No Mixing Oil/Gas, It is all PRO, very easy to start and control, cut my job down considerably, can keep up with me no matter how fast I walk, have to be careful not to remove the first layers of top soil, I think if you could balance it - it would hover above its 200mph output, it has been made to be very comfortable on my back and shoulders, must have eye and ear protection (no complaint), What do you like or dislike about it? Like it very much however, No good way to hang-up.. How long have you had it? - about a month. Does it meet your expectations? - far exceeds my expectations, glad I held out for a 4-stroke

This is an excellent blower. I use this to clear my driveway and rid the yard of leaves and twigs/branches/acorns. Since my driveway is gravel, I have to just keep the blower at idle to prevent blowing all my stones out, but it does the job of blowing the acorns off the driveway. This blower has lots of force and volume of air to move material, even though it never sounds like it's working hard. It definitely doesn't sound like a 2-stroke.My only problem with this blower is that the left strap keeps sliding off my shoulder. I'm taking the advice of some others here and will make some kind of strap to help hold my shoulder straps together.Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

  • Nice power

After returning a Husq150BT due to its lack of blowing power, this Makita did the trick. I cleared my very long driveway of twigs, pebbles, acorns, etc in 1/2 the time. Big bonus was no costly 50:1 mix. Also, the tubing is longer reaching closer to pavement which gives extra power allowing you to run most of the time at 3/4 speed.

Easy to start from cold. Shoulder straps are super thick and comfy. The power is incredible compared to the homelite I was using. I have to be careful as it blew the tempered glass out of my fire pit and large river rocks out of my water feature. Cut my normal job time to a third of the time. The Makita makes clean up more satisfying. I have not used the leading 2-strokes, but not mixing fuel is a major plus. I hope it continues to run strong and the recommended valve adjustment is not too pricey.

I have just under a half an acre filled with mature trees and this is the right power for the job. A bit on the heavy side but great on fuel and very quiet for the amount of power it delivers compared to Stihls of comparable power. Engine has suspension which cuts down on vibration fatigue. Wonderful that it is 4-cycle though this is probably the contributor to the weight.

Extremely good at moving leaves. I hardly ever have to use full throttle, generally half will do all I need. While it starts easily, the pull is not as smooth as expected probably due to the engine cc size and there being no large metal blade to act as a flywheel - don't get me wrong - this isn't any problem or negative, just an observation. Others have made an issue about the weight, it is just about equal to what it's competition is even among the 2 cycles - I'll live with an additional pound or so not to have the additional mixed gas to deal with or the higher pitch and level of sound. Makita has done a good job of isolating the engine from the frame so vibrations are well controlled. I appreciate that Makita included 2 different size opening straight nozzles for different uses as well as a flat nozzle. The only negative I have with this is I wish they had secured the shoulder adjustment straps to the shoulder pads up at the back/neck end, the pads have a tendency to slip out of place. A couple of double sided Velcro® strips fixed it very easily, but the customer should not need to do this - given how much thought and engineering they put into this, I'm surprised. Overall, my only regret is that I didn't buy this a long time ago and save myself a lot of work.
