Works as advertised

I had my attic air sealed and insulated and the contractor suggested I buy this model. The fan is very quiet and it runs fine in the midwest on the south side of Chicago. Yes, we get cloudy days but I had this installed in March and it has already tremendously helped. I recommend this product. I was even thinking about putting one in my garage roof but I read that one customer had problems with his garage door opener afterwards.

Very great product when the roofline is a hipped out roof with a very short ridge line and you have a good part of the back of the roof with either southern or western sky exposure.

I purchase 2 of these units when I put a new roof on the house. We noticed an improvement the upstairs temperature almost immediately after installing. I expect to see a return on my investment in reduced AC costs. I highly recommend.

Very good product with brushless motor that will outlast the 120v motors up to 10 times longer.

These solar powered attic fans are absolutely awesome. My only regret is that I only installed one. Since my ceiling isn’t drywalled yet, I have been able to watch this thing work every day. I will install more of these on my next build. New build, remodel or re-roof.I highly recommend this product

I actually mounted this on the roof of my RV to help keep the temperature down. I've only recently installed it, but so far I'm very pleased. The fan is very quiet and I was concerned about that. It only works when the sun is fully out of the clouds, but that's okay. Good choice.

Unit was really easy to install being fully assembled. It started working as soon as it was exposed to the sun and it continues to run every day. During this summer, we had a week where the temperatures were over 95 every day and this machine cooled the house by 20 degreees easily! Super happy.

A little $$. The overall build of the MF 500 CFM solar roof fan is good. Mine arrived slightly dented on one side of the dome lip; not enough for me to send it back. I get about 3-4 hours of maximum speed. This is the area for improved design. MF should mount solar cells on the dome, arch shaped.

The electrical connecting wire from the solar collector to the motor was badly pinched between the metal parts that allow the panel to be elevated to get maximal sun exposure. I suspected the wires were severed iinside the rubber shield/insulation. However after installation all seemed to be well.

It took less than an hour to install. After about thirty minutes in the sun, the fan came on and is whisper quiet.

Using in a chicken coop in AZ so far working good. Wish it had a small battery backup.

Contractor review. Installed easily. Able to position the solar panel in all different directions for sun. Download a compass app (or use a real one) to help set it in a good direction. Iffy feelings about having no switch. However, even in winter there should always be ventilation. In NY the nights don't get crazy hot. So IMO whenever sun is hitting the roof is a great time to have a fan going. I would use this only as an additional venting source. Not a primary. Not having to bring in a licensed electrician and get a $100 electrical inspection is a great benefit. Using the sun to power benefits everyone.

I was looking at roof fans at the H-D, I was calculating the costs of a normal 110v fan. thermostat,wiring,switch, labor to install and electricity all needed at extra cost.costs. I happened to look way up on the top shelf and saw this self contained solar fan. all you have you do is mount the thing. BINGO right up my alley! This starts working even with low sun. it heavily draws air in full sun. I would not call it noisy, but you can here it. its also very well made. I would buy another in a heart beat P.S. I found on the mfg. web site this fan is available with a battery back up system.

Quiet and works good. I installed it in my garage and had no problems with interference with the the garage door signal like one person metioned. A switch can be added because their is a connector on the bottom that could be wired to a switch. It doesnt come on i until you have strong sunlight but one it starts it keeps running until the sun is low. My panel faces west and it rubs 10:00-5:00.

I used pro-referral to have it installed. Works great and did not need the cutoff switch it calls for in the manual. It doesn’t suck that much air out that it would be needed so don’t waste your time trying to find or install that switch.

Extremely quite, work the second I took cardboard off solar panel. So far it has exceeded expectations for what seems a fair market value.

Took it out of the box. Placed it in the sun and nothing. I called the manufacturer and they said it was probably a bad motor. They would send one out and I would be responsible to make the repair. Still waiting for the motor. I am going to return it to the store

so far it seems to help with my air conditioning on my second floor as I have window units.

The solar panel has to have 100% sun to even work, it has to be bright sun no clouds ,you can move your hand across the panel and the fan turns off.

Easy Peary, lemon squeeze! Installed while getting roof done. Box has cardboard template that worked well. Really needs direct sun to work well. Thermostat would make it better.
