Used this product for the first time. Read reviews about this item and liked what I read. Yes, you will need to unroll it, lay it flat on the ground and place several weights on it to prevent unwanted curling. Pick a sunny warm day to do this and in few hours the Terrace Board will be fairly straight and easy to work with. I live in Florida and that day the air temperature was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The only issue I have is that they gave me only 10 stakes for a 40 foot Terrace Board. Not enough stakes if you plan to do a curve boarder. Had to purchase additional stakes. For this reason, I gave it a 4 stars rating.

Product application as bedding border worked well. Additional stakes were purchased to resist buckling and accommodate irregularities in soil depth. Edging was cut into 6 ft sections for ease of handling.

Terrace Board landscape lawn edging is an excellent product. Unlike thin, cedar bender board edging that has been around for years, the Terrace Board is a synthetic, manufactured product that should last many years with no maintenance at all. I especially liked the 5-inch width and the wood grain texture. I used a half moon spade to cut a nice, curved line where I wanted to install the terrace board. I then used a garden hose with a narrow, high-pressure nozzle, to soften the narrow "trench" I'd created with the half moon spade. I'd unrolled the terrace board on our driveway to let the sun warm it to make it easier to handle. Then, starting at one end, I simply inserted the terrace board into the "trench" and tapped it down with a rubber mallet until it was about half-way buried. On the lawn side, this created a short edge for a nylon-line edger to work against, producing a neat result. On the flower bed side, the terrace board stuck up enough to leave room for weed-controlling landscape fabric covered by bark mulch. Overall, I thought the terrace board was reasonably easy to use and that it produced an outstanding finished look to our yard. In the past, I've poured 8-inch wide concrete mowing strips around all of my flower beds (at several different homes). That's a great solution that all but eliminates the need for edging. However, it is expensive and back-breaking work for a homeowner. Now, at age 70, I just wasn't in the mood for that much hard work. The Terrace Board from Home Depot was a truly outstanding compromise that I am entirely pleased with. I thought the price was extremely reasonable for such a high-quality product.

This edging is made of strong plastic. After unrolling it and putting it in the sun for 20 minutes, it was easy to put in place. The stakes fit snugly and provide stability to the garden edge. This product is terrific and this packaging yields twice as much edging as the competitors. It is also available in black (which costs less for some strange reason). I have done 3 garden beds and have a few more. Great product!

Nice that it comes with the stakes - I've seen it sold without. You definitely need to unroll and leave it in the sun to straighten then it's easy to install. Liked it so much, I bought a second roll and finished all my garden beds.

The edging flattened out nicely in the sun and was easy to cut for the 90 degree angle I needed next to the driveway. I used the rest in a continuous curved line. I did purchase a metal corner stake for the 90 degree angle and 4 metal stakes to supplement the 6 included stakes.

This product is very sturdy and holds up well when compared against metal edging. I recommend this product as it will help to keep your kids and dogs from cutting their feet/paws on it or stubbing a toe. I was afraid the product would be to flimsy, but this is not the case at all. I recommend this over the metal edging.

We put in new planters and used 6 rolls throughout the yard. Easy to install and cut. Wife is happy with the look, so life is all good! Only suggestion is to offer longer stakes for those of us soft (Florida) sandy soil. Regardless though, highly recommend it.

Not enough stakes.
Although this time I had to make straight borders only, but, Wish they included more stakes to create more stable intricate borders.

Great Buy
Very easy to install. Having the border makes the mulch & flower bed around our above ground pool look nicer than when it was only mulch & flowers. I purchased 2 of these & we will use it for a pea gravel area.

Great product
I had mulch falling out on the pavement and it looked horrible. I setup the terrace board and it looks so nice. Everything is neat and clean. When it rains everything stays in place. It was really easy to install and it is long. I didn't need all of it so I was able to cut it easily.

This product was really easy to install. It comes in rolled up so we unrolled it flat and let the hot sun heat it up to fix it flatten.

Landscape Edging
I bought this edging to replace landscape timbers that had rotted out within a couple of years. Hopefully this will not have that problem. The main reason I got this edging was because it was very economical compared to the concrete edging stones. I would have given it a 5 star rating but it is kind of wavy. I noticed that some other reviewers had the same complaint. I did cut some 12 inch pieces of 4 by 4 that was rated safe for ground contact to put over the edging about every 6 feet that hopefully distracts from the waviness of the edging.

Edging for decorative rock border, prevents roots of grass and weeds from invading the rock installation.
Very sturdy edging. Excellent value, especially considering that Lowe's is charging $25 for half the length (20' x 4")! Completely satisfied, will purchase again.

Pretty Good, but a bit frustrating.
Better than most edging I saw at this price point, but don’t expect it to look perfect. Not so bad when doing curves, but when going in a straight line this stuff gets wavy. Even with ample stakes (I bought an extra bag) it’s still a hassle to get it to look perfect. I ended up packing dirt up against each side little by little in the wavy spots to make adjustments as I went along and even it out. Also, depending on your landscape / soil, you will have a hard time getting each stake in where you want it. Sometimes they go halfway in, hit a hard spot and stop, and you’re hitting them so hard the stakes bend or begin to chip away. Luckily they are pretty durable plastic so none broke. The 5” height is nice, but it’s a tough call whether or not to trench out an area for the edging to sit down in. for some applications 5” would be too high, but it’s difficult to cut a long trench of even depth, so you get areas where the edging is resting on the ground, and other area where you dug away too much. The edging can teeter totter on you when the ground is not level like this. I was planning to install almost twice as much of this edging, but after doing the first couple areas, I went a different route with the remaining areas because it was more of a pain than I anticipated. Nothing against this product, but just edging in general can be annoying.

Great lawn edging!
Edging is durable and high quality. 5 inch height allowed 2 inches to be buried and 3 inches above for plenty of containment of mulch. Bonus that it comes with 10 stakes. Sold online other places but does not include stakes. Gave my patio a cleaner look. Very pleased with product quality and value.

Unconventional use for a great product
I used the brown terrace board to build a sturdy road bed for my new garden railway. It was easy to install and stabilizes the road bed during the construction phase of my project. See the photo.

    Very Pleased!
When I saw the package for the first time I thought it was going to be to tall for what we wanted. The plastic is about 3/16 of an inch thick (give or take) and very stiff when "cold" so I unrolled it alongside the house, laid a brick on each end to keep it flat, for the sun to warm it up and make it more pliable. You want to do that to make installation easier. Word of warning though, after a couple of hours in the sun be sure to wear gloves as the plastic gets very warm and could make it uncomfortable while handling it during installation. After it warms up it is very easy to make curves whether they are gentle or sharper curves. I also made a little trench for the terrace board to lay in so it would not be as high and because I wanted the stakes to go a little farther into the ground for more strength and stability. As for the stakes, the original package came with 10 stakes. That makes an average spacing of 4 feet per stake. You do get some sag between stakes at that distance. Also if you need to make sharp corners you need extra stakes to hold the corner in shape. We ordered the 20 extra stakes just for that purpose and to help prevent any major sagging on the straight runs. To pound the stakes in I went and bought a small 16 ounce rubber mallet for pounding them in. I would not suggest a regular hammer as it could damage the stakes. I would also make sure to keep the stakes out of the sun while doing your install as they are basically the same kind of plastic as the terrace board and will soften up and bend on you as you pound on them. One suggestion is to water the area where each stake is going to make the pounding process a little easier and prevent bending of the stakes. Once in though they are pretty sturdy. The 40 foot length was exactly what we needed for our front yard project. We have 2 concrete boxes in our yard(city water box and PG&E box) that I wanted to keep clear for ease of access for the city worker and the PG&E worker who checks the box. Don't want them walking through and destroying our plants! Anyhow, the length was perfect and the boxes are clear for access and we are very pleased with how it all turned out. We live in Northern Cali and because of the drought we decided to rip up 1/2 of our small front yard and replant with Bush Ice Plant(Orange) and Baby Sun Rose(Red Apple) with Scotts Earthgro Black Mulch and it looks very nice. Plants are doing well so far and we can't wait until they are mature and spread out to fill in the area within the border and see all the blossoms these plants will provide for the bees, humming birds and butterflies!

    Great product, easy to install
So easy, I install it around the front yard with ease in couple of hours. I used the excess to make a tree ring in the corner fence. I laid it flat on the driveway in the morning under the sun, anchored both ends with cinder blocks to eliminate the curve end during shipping. Dug a trench around the lawn then install it in the afternoon. The stakes that comes with it are to short and would pop out in the soft soil so I purchased some wooden stakes in the local store, added and screwed it in every 4 feet to help support the edging. The lawn and garden looks great.

    Great for curvy borders.
This product is great for curvy borders, but it's not that great if you want a straight border. It's a little wavy at the straight parts of the bed, but looks great in the curved areas. It was pretty easy to use. However, It was a lot easier to work with after we rolled it out, and let it sit in the sun for a little while.

    Returning!
OK...my honest opinion on this product was disappointing. I looked at other peoples photos and thought this would work for a pathway that was mostly straight. We unrolled and tried to straighten more, and even used extra stakes with it to support. We ended up with a wobbling willie! We didn't fill in on the back side yet since we are returning it. It would be fine if using for a curved area but not a long straight one. So 2 stars because it was nice looking but when working with vinyl you don't have the sturdiness of metal. We're returning and have ordered metal! Paying the extra but will look much better!

This product is amazing. I had a plan to get rid of as much sod as possible and a vision of how I wanted my front yard to look. This terrace board helped me accomplish it! It is amazingly strong and easy to use. It allowed me to design with ease. Even where I had to join sections together, there was no problem. The quality is awesome!!!
