The MAX STRIP 1 GAL. POPCORN CEILING REMOVER worked great. it was surprising how it removed the old popcorn and paint. The Strip Remover was easy to apply (much easier to apply than the application of the Popcorn to begin with) by following the easy instructions. Clean up was simple using water and soap.Product coverage was a short of what I expected but I was very generous with the application. I will get more Max Strip Popcorn Remover for the other rooms in the house.

Max Strip 1 gal. Popcorn Ceiling Remover I ordered this to use when I redo a ceiling so I have not used it yet. Based on the many satisfied reviews I felt confident in getting this product to try with its four easy steps of applying, allowing it to set, scrape, wipe and as long as it makes it easier than scraping and sanding with all that dust mess I am sure I will be happy to try it.

This Max Strip 1 gallon popcorn ceiling remover works great. I am remodeling a kitchen and didn't want to try just water to remove decades old popcorn finish from the ceiling. This does the job much easier and provides a better surface for paint. I will still need to add a little drywall mud here and there and sand to get the desired surface ready for painting. I recommend this product.

Worked great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been in my house for about 15 years and I have painted the walls but the only thing I did not tackle was the popcorn ceiling in the kitchen. I wanted nothing to do with the job of removing the popcorn ceiling. I finally couldn't take it anymore and so I used this to tackle the job... and ut did a great job! All I did was apply to the ceiling and covered with plastic then I left it on for about 11 hours . I then used the scraper and got to scraping. I was really surprised when I saw it coming off! This worked great! I will recommend this if you have popcorn ceilings I just wish I would have used this years ago now I really liked the way my ceiling looks

    It works.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our older house has all popcorn ceiling so we decided to give this a test. It is a gel type substance which is easy to apply. You may need to use push pins to hold up the plastic, I found that easier than tape. You also must have patience and read the directions. It is non toxic which makes it safe to use. However, you should wear gloves and safety glasses for protection. We found it worked at described if you follow the directions.

      Great Popcorn Ceiling Remover!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had most of the popcorn ceilings in our home removed before we moved in, but there are still a few areas left with popcorn ceilings that have been on the “to do” list for a while. This is just the product I needed to help me remove the popcorn ceilings in those areas. It is very easy to use - the gel brushed on smoothly and didn’t drip. I followed the instructions, and sure enough, the popcorn ceiling scraped right off. It’s also great that this is not toxic and biodegradable!

          Easier strip
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With a lot of time in my hands I decided to finally strip my popcorn ceiling. I used Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover and it was definitely easier and faster, but still a lot of work and messy. I would use it again.

If you are remodeling popcorn ceilings buy this
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I found this stuff years ago! It is such a great product that makes removing popcorn ceilings so much easier. Applying the gel and letting it sit over night made it so easy to just scrap the popcorn off of the ceiling. It helped so much it didn’t ruin my ceiling leave spot chuncks of the ceiling left or anything. The Max Strip popcorn ceilings remover helped so much that I didn’t have to use so much pressure on my hands arms and back to get the popcorn off. The rooms I did before buying this was so hard to remove and did a number on my back that I was going to hire someone to finish the rest of the rooms. Thankfully I found this stuff it saved me thousands since it made it so much easier for my to do it myself. If you want to get rid of your popcorn ceilings I highly recommend this I would not suggest removing the ceiling stuff without using this stuff at all there’s no way I would ever try to attempt to do it ever again without buying this product in using it. I think it also saved a ton of money with the fact I didn’t have to repair the ceiling like I did before without this stuff it helped remove everything so easy that there’s not scrape lines left on my ceiling dents or anything this product is truly amazing and I’m so glad I found it I highly recommend buying it.

Works extremely well. Looked up the MSDS… Contact and eye precautions only. No respiratory requirements which is nice. I’ve been doing the spray with water every 15 minutes for 2 hours. Works extremely well this way!

Spraying water on ceiling worked equally well. Waited a few minutes with water and scraped easily. Only one layer of paint on popcorn. Max strip was messier and of course very expensive. Go with sprayer and water!

This product is a paint stripper designed to remove Painted Popcorn Ceilings.
If you ceiling has not been painted, you should use water to remove the water soluble ceiling texture, not paint stripper. EZStrip

I love this product. I used this to remove all the texture from my living room and hall walls. I didn't think it would work but it was marvelous. I brought more to complete all of the walls.

              delivered way too watery
must have been an error at the plant or perhaps the product was tampered but it was shipped to my house and when I opened it was way too thin. not a gel but like blue water.

The product isn’t carried in the store. I ordered and had it shipped. It took so long I finished the job without it. I expect to do more popcorn removal in the future so I didn’t return it.

Here are some helpful tips for best results: 1. Set times will vary, Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover is specifically designed for painted drywall texture so leave the treated surface (covered with plastic) for as long as needed for coating to soften for removal. 2. Typically one thick even coat with a longer set time is all that is needed for stubborn textures. 3. If only the top painted layer is removed during the scraping process the rest of the remaining material is water soluble and can be removed with a light spritz of water or second application. EZStrip

The product works. I will probably buy it again. However, it isn't nearly as simple as the official videos make it appear. The instructions on the home depot website, max strip website, and the bottle are all different. I couldn't get any kind of plastic to stick to the popcorn. But, the popcorn is gone! 1 gallon takes about an hour to apply and 2 hours to strip. I allowed curing for about 2.5 hours. Be sure to apply maxstrip on THICK. There is more I wish to write, but don't have the ..

Plastic drop cloth required to cover the ceiling for a minimum of four hours would not adhere to the ceiling after application of the remover . It continually peeled away from the wet gel.

Here a few tips to help with covering treated popcorn textures. 1. Use thin/light plastic for better adhesion to the treated surface. 2. Tape your starting point with painters tape to the wall. 3. Use a broom to push plastic onto ceiling and push air bubbles out from under plastic for better adhesion. 4. As per directions visit the Max Strip YouTube channel for great how to remove videos and see all of these tips in action. EZStrip
