This is a basic dryer. We did not need anything fancy with all sorts of settings for special fabrics etc. We just want to dry our clothes. This dryer has a larger capacity than our old dryer which I like. Items dry quicker! If I could add two improvements/options, they would be in the order listed, a door that opens from the top (so that the door could catch the "wayward" items when you pull them out of the dryer before they hit the floor), and a rack to dry shoes. Still, being completely strapped for money, this was the best buy we could find. Very satisfied with the purchase!

  • Maytag Gas Dryer - GREAT PURCHASE!

More than pleased with my new Maytag gas dryer. I finally decided not to repair my old Kenmore Elite again which I had for 14 yrs. I had replaced its matching washer with a Maytag Centennial in 2010. Now I once again have a matching set! This new Maytag Dryer is Great. There's nothing to complain about here. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a new gas dryer. It has plenty enough features. I really like the sensor dry and it has a wrinkle feature at the end of the cycle. Great Purchase!

  • Nothing but problems

I've owned this dryer since 12/2016. The fuse has blown twice in 2 months. My dryer vent is clean so it must be the dryer is defective. Contacted Maytag for warranty. They can't come out for over a week! For a family of 5 to go without a dryer for that long is not fair. I'm very dissatisfied with the dryer and the warranty. Wouldn't recommend.

Very nice dryer. The gas inlet pipe is 3/8" so be prepared to adapt if you don't have the right size hose fittings. I tried it on the medium setting first because the high seemed very hot, but some clothes did not dry completely so switched back to high setting. Nice that it has a light inside.

  • Excellent Dryer

I purchased this dryer to replace a Whirlpool, which was very old, but came with the house. After researching, I felt that this dryer would be perfect, and I was correct. It dries super fast, has an end of cycle signal, and multiple dryer setting (regular, perm press/delicates, air fluff, etc.). I've only heard great things about Maytag, but went with an additional warranty just in case. It does come with a 10 yr. but it only covers very minimal. It's been about 2 months since we've had this dryer and we use it approximately 2 days per week, which is about 5 loads per week for us.

I haven't owned this dryer long enough to know if it will last 20 years like my mother's did, but so far, so good. After having continual problems with my old dryer overheating, I sought the advuce of an appliance repairman to select a dryer model that would work for years, and not threaten me with a laundry room fire. I was told to get the "old-fashioned" kind with the lint collector on the top. The door lint collector in my previous dryer was convenient, but extra lint was continually building up inside the machine and the duct. This dryer collects a lot more lint IN THE LINT TRAP and dries quickly. The only complaint: I couldn't find any dryer of this type with a stainless steel drum. Evidently those are reserved for the "top-end" dryers; you know, the ones that have to be replaced every few years.

I was online looking at reviews of dryers and also pricing them. When I found this one it seemed like a good choice. The reviews were good and the price was great. I was able to dry our dog bed in it the other night. I could not do that in my old dryer. This one is larger and much nicer. It has all the functions you would ever need to do laundry. And it is very quiet. I barely hear it in the basement. We have had it about a month. It exceeds my expectations. I have not found anything I dislike yet. I do like having a light in the dryer, it helps to make sure that you got everything out of it.

Excellent, powerful and dependable product. Simple to use, and without all the bells and whistles that just add to the chance of something else to go wrong. Thank you Maytag for continuing to build quality products!

Love the dryer, with one exception. I don't like the fact that the door opens left to right, instead of top to bottom. When a dryer door (like on my old model) opens from the top, the door extends in front of the opening, thus keeping freshly dried clothes from falling on the floor. The first few times I opened the new model, I had clothes come flying out. I now simply put my laundry basket directly below the door, so just a minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless. That being said - it dries clothes, it runs quietly, and the price was very reasonable. I simply have no idea why people would spend a ton of money on a dryer. A washer I can see for added features, but there's only so much a dryer can do!
