This product is intended to be installed with a minimum grout joint of 3/16" to account for any minor variations in size as is inherent with any non-rectified tile. Less expensive rectified tiles may fit tighter but do not utilize the same high quality materials and construction. The protective wax coating is a more effective means of protection for tiles during transit. This coating is designed to be easily removed with a mild non-acidic cleaning agent and light scrubbing. More stubborn wax can be removed with hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol.
