After needing to open the clean-out on my sewer, I needed a wrench large enough to accomplish it. This wrench worked great. It is heavy enough to feel very solid in the hand and the extra weight helps with the leverage. Changing the size is easy with a twist of the screw. The best part is I won’t have to borrow a pipe wrench anymore because I have my own!

At 21 lbs, you don't need this for routine DIY projects but it would work great for large radiator pipe connections, well pipe drops, 4" pipe work, and large equipment repair requiring extra leverage. The 28" handle is great for leverage. Grips open to 5" and have markings for 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3 3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2, and 5". Jaw grip itself is 4" long. Smooth adjusting gear is another nice feature.

Wow, what an upgrade from my little pipe wrench! I debated between a couple sizes and glad I settled for this 24" model. Anything bigger would not be useful around the home. Maybe an 18" might still work for under sink work but this size will be useful for larger projects without having to use a cheater bar to gain leverage. Milwaukee tools have been outstanding and will continue to purchase them from my favorite HD store.

This wrench is for tough nuts. At 55 pounds and five feet long it is not easy to use but it really gets the job done. I have some abandoned farm equipment that I wanted to dismantle to use the steel for projects and none of my smaller wrenches were up to the task, but this wrench succeeded easily. The wrench opens to over eight inches which is more than I have ever needed in the past, so I doubt I will ever need a larger wrench.

The wide jaw adjustment makes this a very versatile and tough tool. The construction is top notch, but that is no surprise from Milwaukee. The tool functions as you would expect. It easily handles tubing and the 24" handle allows you to create leverage for busting loose metal piping. The overbiite of the jaw gives you maximum coverage to tighten and loosen most pipes.

This thing is a beast of a pipe wrench. Great for commercial use and for some extreme leverage when needed. The teeth on it have a great bite so it won’t slip when your really pushing it. The adjustment is smooth and adjust fairly quick for its size. It feels really heavy duty and held up good even when we had to push on it with 2 people to open a old hydrant. Didn’t feels any flex in it considering it’s long. It’s pretty heavy but when using something this size its obvious your dealing with some heavy work. Good heavy duty product

Milwaukee is doing really good on all their plumbing tools they are adding. This pipe wrench is heavy duty as they come with the bite on the jaws grabbing really strong when I really needed to remove some really tight old gas lines. It’s a little heavy but it didn’t bother me because usually I need good leverage when using a pipe wrench and the weight helps in some situations. The adjustment is pretty smooth and didn’t bind up on me even when I really leveraged it. Actually the adjustment is works really well. All in all I’d recommend it because I’m pretty sure once you buy a pipe wrench of this quality you won’t need to probably ever buy one again.

Milwaukee is a name synonymous with quality in the working people's world of pipe fitter, plumbers and anyone who needs to hold and tighten fittings on galvanized pipe, black pipe, or any other rigid pipe made. This wrench is small enough to fit in tight places like under sinks or within an industrial environment. Mostly, you see the larger 12 inch or bigger, but this size has it's merits and is very handy when space is a minimum. The adjusting nut turns smooth, the jaws grip strong. So, go out and put this little gem in your toolbox. You won't be disappointed.

This is definitely the big daddy of wrenches and as tough as they come! I wanted a big wrench and I sure got myself one big wrench. This is the biggest wrench that I have ever used and it will give you the leverge neccesary to break free some of the tightest pipes and fittings that in the past took everything you had and then some, you know those ones that you had to stand on the end of your wrench just to keep from pulling and tearing every muscle in your body to get loose. Well that will no longer be a problem with the MILWAUKEE 36-inch Steel Pipe Wrench Model # 48-22-7136 Internet #308063063

The 8 inch steel pipe wrench is of good quality as are other Milwaukee branded items that I own. Although a small size it is large enough for what I would refer to as a medium sized job of working with a 3/4 inch galvanized pipe and dealing with a cap requiring a full 1 inch opening. The design follows what I would consider the standard pipe wrench model and operates with an adjustable threaded nut for opening the throat of the wrench. It fits the hand well and would be a good addition for the homeowner needing an occasional use of a pipe wrench for small to medium jobs.

This is much smaller than the photo. I guess we should have realized 6 inches is pretty small. This will come in handy for small projects. The adjustment is a little harder and we assume it will get smoother as we use it as with most adjustment's (the little thing that rotates to adjust size). This is the perfect size wrench for working on small items such as many pipes under a sinks.

Having many tools in my shop, this addition was one of those that you didn't really think you needed to have until you buy and use it. So many times you have a small area that a larger pipe wrench won't fit and you really can get a pair of vice grips on it. Thus this little 8" pipe wrench fits the application. The jaws on it are amazing. Grips better than any large pipe wrench I have. You won't be disappointed having this tool in your box. And the added factor of the Milwaukee brand. I have many of their tool dating back to the early 70's and non have ever let me down.

Everybody thought it was a joke when I showed up to work with my newly obtained Milwaukee 48 in. Steel Pipe Wrench. Nobody was laughing when it was put to work. While installing an RPZ backflow valve we ran into a problem when all of the pipe wrenches we had were millimeters short of opening wide enough to fit the final connector. Guys were jumping on their phones trying to find somebody close that could bring a larger wrench. That's when I remembered the monster Milwaukee nobody thought would ever see any use. Not only did it complete the job but it did it with ease. Although Milwaukee advertises it as smaller, I measured a full 7 in. jaw opening. It will tackle the BIG jobs. One word of caution, it is heavy. You might have problems with it in tight spaces or working solo. Glad to add it to my growing collection of excellent Milwaukee tools.

As I have come to expect from Milwaukee, this product is of first class quality. This 8" version of the series of wrenches offered by Milwaukee is just the right size for getting into tight areas, such as under sinks. The wrench is made of steel and features the trademark Milwaukee red color. The jaw mechanism features an "overbite" which gives you a wider surface for gripping the nut than other brands. The maximum nut size is 1 inch or around 25mm. The wrench can be tightened or loosened with one hand and has a comfortable grip. All in all a solid, well-made product.

EPIC! When you need a pipe wrench the size of an economy car, this is the one to go for! I think it will take a few years to know whether it really holds up, but it just arrived and it looks great. For whatever reason, the capacity values on the website are a bit messed up. It is made to grip 8" pipe, which means the jaws open to about 9". The jaws are conveniently marked for pipe sizes (the mark for 8" is not 8 inches - it is to fit 8" pipe). The smallest size marked is 1-1/2 inches. Fully extended, it measured 54.5 inches - I guess they mean it is a "60 in. category" and not exactly 60 inches. The paperwork says it is steel, which should make it nice and tough. I posted several photos with a tape measure if you have questions about the size and depth of the jaws. It weights 55 lbs or so. Not a lightweight tool! The markings on the package (a photo of the label is included) say these things: 60" Steel Pipe Wrench Overbite Jaw 48-22-7160 Max Capacity - Up to 8" Steel Limited Lifetime Warranty Engineered by Milwaukee Tool Professionally Made in China

The Milwaukee 8-inch Steel Pipe Wrench designed from the ground up for maximum productivity is a great pipe wrench for professionals as well as do-it-yourselfers. Perfect size to use under the sink in the kitchen or bath, as well as the utility room and anywhere you need a pipe wrench. The ergonomic handle has a nice feel in your hand with rounded corners and edges so your hand can apply pressure to it without it feeling uncomfortable. The jaws are made of hardened steel and have a maximum capacity of 1 inch in diameter. This wrench is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Big Red will be going to the bakery to maintain steam pipes. It replaced an aluminum model that we were actually able to break. It is a bit heavier but stronger and allows the torque needed to make lighter work of pipe or control valve replacement. It will easily take a 6" pipe and the over bite designed into the tool makes for a much safer use. You will need two of these for many applications. This tool is for big jobs and not for general plumbing. Care needs to taken on removal of old rusty pipe as this will crush pipe and pipe threads. The jaws are marked in inches for easy set up prior to putting it on the pipe.

Great sturdy wrench. It weighs 33 lbs on a very accurate industrial scale. The teeth have a nice aggressive pitch rather than being symmetrical like some lesser wrenches. We had a competitors more expensive (by over $100) wrench on hand and preferred the Milwaukee. The action is fairly smooth by comparison when opening and closing the jaw. The overbite helps grab the pipe when you max out the jaw. It does open farther than the manufacturers claim for square fittings etc. Just make sure all the threads are engaged before you torque on it. Zero flex and great bite. Highly recommend this beast. You find a lot of uses for a wrench this big once you have it on hand.

This feels like a really high quality wrench. We had a pricey competitors equivalent on hand and were able to compare them. We preferred this Milwaukee even before considering that it cost about $100 less than the competitors wrench. Definitely professional grade. Not just a homeowner grade discount tool. Yet it is at a price point where anything else available is off brand junk. This is the real deal. The teeth are aggressive and point toward the rotation. Not symmetrical like the cheaper wrenches. Strong and zero flex. It's HEAVY but sometimes that's good. It does open slightly larger than the manufacturers claim with all threads still engaged which is a good thing. However I should say stay within manufacturers specs. Once you have a wrench this size on the truck, you find a million uses for it. Highly recommend!

This is a big wrench for big jobs: pipes and their fittings, large parts that you might find on semi trucks, industrial equipment or other item-specific tasks. Being cast iron, it is also heavy, weighing in at over 22 lbs. Opens to 5+ inches and has an extra-deep head and teeth. Absolutely no wobble on the head. Jaw seems to screw open and closed smoothly. If you need this wrench you know it, and not much else would do. Like all of the Milwaukee tools that I have seen, this is well designed and constructed. If you are putting the kind of force that a tool of this size requires, you need to know that it will not slip or break, without a part of it flying off, and everything about this wrench makes me think that it will do the job.

I ordered the Milwaukee 24 in. Steel pipe wrench because my main sewer line was stopped up in my house. The main sewer line had a large clean out plug on the pipe that was very tight and I couldn't get it to loosen. I had to get the plug off in order to snake the drain. When my order came to my house it came in a box and the wrench was wrapped in bubble wrap. It got here in perfect condition. So this purchase of the Milwaukee 24 in. Pipe wrench saved the day. I believe the extra length on this pipe wrench gave me the leverage to Break Free the cleanout plug and the hardened teeth had a good bite on the plug. When you purchase the right tool you will get the job done. This is the perfect pipe wrench to add to your arsenal of tools. I would like to mention on the Jaws of the pipe wrench it has size markings for the pipe size which are 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3 and the upper jaw teeth are 2-1/2 in. in length and 1-1/4 in. In with and the lower jaw teeth are 1-3/4 in. In length and 1-1/4 in. in width. This pipe wrench is very solid and heavy duty and it will last you a lifetime. The handle fits in your hand and is very comfortable I also noticed on the handle it has a cut out for a lanyard. This pipe wrench weighs in at 10 lb and the handle is painted Milwaukee red and the jaw is black in color. The size of the wrench ( 24" ) is stamped on the side of the handle and is laser engraved on the adjustment wheel. Overall this is the best pipe wrench and I consider it well worth the investment but it is a little on the heavy side but I can deal with that. I believe this size pipe wrench is the perfect size to purchase because it will cover you in almost every application, that you will need it for. So I I rate this pipe wrench at 5 stars. This is the perfect wrench for all kinds of pipe and large Nuts and Bolts. I recommend this Milwaukee 24" steel pipe wrench 100%. I will add pictures below for your viewing

This my size tool, I only do light plumbing jobs and leave the big jobs to the pros..Very nice size to have around the house and it opens to almost 2 inches.Quite rugged for a small pipe wrench. Milwaukee stands out in the tool business, good quality and easy to use. It's a good size for most plumbing repairs around your house. Nice size that will fit in your pocket to keep it handy or in a small tool pouch.

I like this Milwaukee 8 in. Steel Pipe Wrench. It feels good in the hand. The handle is contoured in thickness (a bit thinner than competitor). It also has a slight curve for a better grip. The teeth are nice and sharp. The adjusting nut moves easily with no binding. While I prefer to just turn the nut to where the jaws fit best by feel, the adjustable jaw of this wrench is marked at 1/8 in., ¼ in. 3/8 in, ½ in. ¾ in. and 1 in., for those who might want to preset it for a specific pipe size. I have a selection of pipe wrenches from 10 in. up to 24 in., but there are times, especially with smaller pipe or in tight work areas, when a shorter wrench like this 8 in. are a better fit. And, a wrench will always beat pliers. As an old pipefitter, I’ve always been partial to another well-known brand of pipe tools, but Milwaukee appears to be making inroads into that market. The price of this wrench is comparable with the other major brand, but, unfortunately, it’s MADE IN CHINA. The casting/forging of the wrench body is not as good and smooth as the old American made products. It would be really great if Milwaukee would bring ALL manufacturing back the USA. There are still an awful lot of us who prefer products MADE IN USA, and will go out of our way, and pay more, for them.

If you need a massive Pipe wrench The MILWAUKEE 48-inch Steel Pipe Wrench is the one to get. This pipe wrench is made for big jobs requiring a strong heavy duty pipe wrench. The forty eight inch handle gives you good leverage and you may not need a cheater pipe. This is not a wrench that most people would use every day but when you need a wrench for a big job this is the one.

Milwaukee 48-22-7124 steel pipe wrench is another well made Milwaukee product. Weighing in at just over 10 lbs, is a great addition to your tools. Overbite jaw design gives the largest gripping surface. The finish is excellent and feels great in your hands and looks great too. Milwaukee makes the best tools in my opinion and this should last you many years. Maximum jaw capacity is up to 3 inches and has limited lifetime warranty. I highly recommend this pipe wrench.

Milwaukee 48-22-7136 36” steel pipe wrench is a big massive tool. When you need a big heavy pipe wrench, this will do the job well. Weighing in at just over 21 lbs, you won’t be attaching this to your tool belt. Excellent workmanship that feels good in your hands. The overbite jaw design gives the professional the grip needed to get the job done. Milwaukee never disappoints me and this is another fantastic fine example. I highly recommend this Milwaukee pipe wrench.

Great for the non professional
I have a large steel pipe wrench that would be fine if I were a professional plumber or pipe fitter, but I'm not. I'm just the average home owner who occasionally has a need for a pipe wrench. This pipe wrench is perfect for most job that some one would encounter around the house. I've included a picture of my old (large) pipe wrench next to the new (smaller) wrench.

Another Well Made Tool from Milwaukee
The heavy duty steel handle fits well and feels light in your hand but is rated upwards of 50,000PSI. The twelve inch handle is long enough to provide excellent leverage when needed but short enough to still work in those tighter areas when needed. The overbite jaw opens a full two inches allowing the heat treated steel jaws to lock on to any surface securely. All in all the Milwaukee twelve inch steel pipe wrench is another well made tool from Milwaukee Tool Company and highly recommend it to everyone.
