This system is a great idea in concept but it has 2 fatal flaws in my opinion. The wheel axel is not fixed and has an inch of play while you are rolling. It's not noticeable when the boxes are empty but as soon as you put 20+lbs of tools in, the wobble is obvious. Furthermore, this wobble causes strain on the cheap plastic wheels and eventually when you go over an uneven ground, it will crack the inner hub of the wheels. The handle on the big box does not retract all the way down which is a problem if you are trying to store this box flat inside your truck bed with tornneau cover down. I hope Milwaukee fixes these 2 issues for the next version. Had to return this since it was not obvious what the warranty is either or if they cover cracked wheels.

So, I absolutely love the Milwaukee Packout. Purchasing it for $199.00 at HD was absolutely worth it. Was able to fit my 7 1/4 circular saw, Recip Saw, 18V Fuel Hammer Drill, M12 Fuel Hammer drill, Rapid charger, 1-1.5battert, 2-5.0Ah batteries, 1-9.0Ah battery, M12 Vacuum. And this was all in the bottom Packout. Still have tons of more space on the top packouts.

Milwaukee hit it out of the park with this one. The wheels are large enough that I can roll it through gravel everyday. The click in system for each box is great. It's durable and looks nice!

Excellent Packout modular tool boxes to carry all your tools into any job! I purchased the 3 box system and I have been using it for just over a year ... I am so happy with my purchase and only wish I would have purchased it sooner to make my life easier carrying my tools onto a job and back onto my truck! Made a extremely strong and durable materials. I carry lots of electrical tools ... large box fits all my 18v cordless tools: bandsaw, hammer drill, impact driver, oscillating tool, sawzaw, hole saws, and other misc. tools including my knee pads and the top tray still fits on top to carry all my bits and extra hand tools. Amazing what you can fit onto the boxes. Not one issue. Everyone that sees them wants them! Make the investment; it's worth every penny! Oh, and you can lock your boxes up individually when you are walking away from the boxes at jobs.

Loved the product however it arrived with damage to one of the aluminum corners. Home depot was very quick to make things right. Now only a few months later the one latch has failed. I am a very loyal Milwaukee guy and have spent thousands! Spent over $300 expecting the usual, a little disappointed!

The modules of this storage system are relatively light weight, but very solid. The walls do not flex, and the units do not rack or twist. The interlocking system is rugged also, but the modules are quite easy to separate--when the need arises--by pushing a release button/lever on the front of each, and then sliding the unit forward about an inch. Also on the front of each module, there is a rugged lip having a hole for a security padlock. I use these modules to store various power tools and accessories. I have only one minor complaint--you cannot open the lid all the way on the bottom module. This limitation exists because the wheels/handle are permanently attached to that large module, and they block the lid opening to about a 45 degree angle max. The top modules can be opened all the way.

Absolute perfection. Tough, modular, neat appearance, well balanced when tipping "over center" to wheel around. I expect nothing less from Milwaukee and they always deliver. Dollars spent compared to quality received, Milwaukee is the best value for my money second to none. My time is valuable and I refuse to bother myself with cheap junk. I used my first Milwaukee tool (purchased by my Father for his H.V.A.C. business) in 1972 at age 14, an aluminum alloy Sawzall in a sheet metal box with a piano hinge and silver metal handle. Just picking up the tool you knew you had a well made product in your hand. Milwaukee took the high road then and they still do today. Now I work in foundries, quarries, oil refineries and brass mills all with Milwaukee tools At home I'm switching from A.C. to the Milwaukee battery powered platforms. Battery technology has improved enough to "cut the cord" and all my Milwaukee tools are kept in Milwaukee Packout containers. That old 1972 Sawzall still works and I occasionally get it out just for fun. Milwaukee all the way for life.

I have had the Milwaukee Packout system for about a year and a half and cannot say enough good things about it. After seeing its versatility and the value, three other friends of mine have purchased one as well. I am not in a construction field, I am a Certified Athletic Trainer working in sports medicine at high schools. I have to carry a lot of medical equipment and supplies to indoor and outdoor events and this has made my life easier. It is rainproof, and dust proof which is important since I can get caught in the elements unexpectedly. The large wheels get me over rough gravel areas and roll on artificial turf without digging in. Dirt does not get clogged in the wheels since they are not open on the inside like other brands. I have arranged it so athletes can sit on it as I tape ankles. The large handle makes one handed maneuverability easy. I can bungee additional items such as crutches and splint bags to it. Compared to what I used to have to carry in multiple bags, and luggage carts with small wheels, it is significantly less expensive. It quickly separates into smaller sections that fit in my car with ease.

I have a few Milwaukee tools with cases. The Milwaukee tool cases are far superior to my Dewault, Porter Cable or Bosch cases. I bought these without ever seeing them knowing they would be well designed, built and durable. . I carry these in and out of the truck and job site every day. Well worth the cost

  • Best toolbox system available
  • November 25, 2017

I had previously looked into all available modular toolbox systems and the best available when I purchased my first set was the ridgid system. I went through one base box due to the handle retraction latch failing and the second was near failure. Luckily Milwaukee released the 3pc combo just in time. This tool box is built like a tank, the wheels make your tools feel a lot lighter when hauling them a long distance. The axle for the wheels is a lot more sturdy then my previous system, I was nervous of the wheel cap popping off the old system. I do wish they would offer the tool boxes in another color such as black because I feel like it stands out too much to suspect individual's looking to steal people's tools on sites. Color aside this is the best box I've found, the price is reasonable for the quality and confidence that your not going to have it break and have to carry it to your car and that your expensive tools will remain safe and dry.
