The tool to get if you are installing more than a few expansion pex fittings or need to do so in tight quarters. Like all Milwaukee tools this is solidly built and performs its function well. The manual alternatives are terribly impractical and as a certified hand therapist I can tell you they won't do your joints any favors. This not only expands but also rotates the expansion head which is something manual versions do not do and is necessary for proper installation. This fits into tight spaces which in plumbing is an inevitability. You can tell that 1" is about the max size fitting this is built for as it works pretty hard at that level, be sure to use the included lubricant and keep the second battery ready to rotate a fresh one in when the other runs out of juice. This will allow uninterrupted use. Expansion pex is superior if you care about maximum and uninhibited water flow.

  • Excellent tool, easy to use and great build quality

The expansion tool is made of high quality materials and should last, like most Milwaukee tools. Extremely simple to use and makes leak free connections every time without any guesswork. The tool is pretty pricey, but in my case, I'm re-plumbing my entire home, and it makes connections so simple, it was more than worth it.

Pros Powerful, Easy to Use, Accurate

I own a lot of Milwaukee power tools and love them always durable and don't have issues with them. I purchased the Milwaukee M12 Pex expander and love it. I used a manual expander tool before and it takes time and results were not as exact as this tool. The Milwaukee rep at the store is awesome, super knowledgable he knows Milwaukee. The tool works great pull the trigger it expands and rotates automatically can't complain about that. It feels solid and works solid I don't feel like this tool will wear out, overall a great buy.

  • Tool works great; Home Depot is great to deal with!

The first tool I ordered was received damaged as the product wasn't properly packaged. I contacted Home Depot and they gladly shipped another tool and sent instructions to their shipping department that the tool needed to be packaged properly. I received the new tool in a few days and true to their promise, it was properly packaged. While using the Propex expander, it malfunctioned when I changed the heads. I contacted Milwaukee, and they indicated that some tools had an issue with an internal pin that would cause an intermittent failure such as the one I experienced. They encouraged me to return it for a refund, or back to them for repair. I opted to return it to the Home Depot and order a new one. The bottom line: I buy a lot of tools and products from Home Depot because they stand behind the products they sell and are great to deal with.

  • Great tool, works as expected

I am not a plumber, but I do my own work at home under the supervision of a friend who is a plumber. He has this exact tool and recommended it. I had a couple of plumbing projects coming up and I wanted to use the same pex pipe he uses (Wirsbo) so I bought the tool. Was it worth the price for the kit? I dunno. I had the money and wanted a quality job (and to do it myself) so I bought it. Probably the way I can justify the expense is to use it to help friends who have simple plumbing projects of their own. It's extremely easy to use - just be sure to follow the instructions. I have never had to re-do a joint. If you have a DIY personality and want to delve into pex plumbing I think this tool is perfect for you. I actually look forward to new projects just so I can use it...

Works like a charm. I am a general contractor and got tired of waiting for a plumber for the simple stuff, so I started to do my own plumbing. This tool works great the fitting are a little expensive but the time savings makes up for it. Dave

  • PEX now can't get any easier!

Simple to put together and the kit is flat awesome. I owned the original "pump" system from Upinor and this is so much simpler and only needs 1 person for all 3/4" work or below. I have not tried the higher priced model but this one does all that you need. You should even know that this one DOES turn the spreader which is GREAT but does not say so in most of the materials about the Tool. Best money I have ever spent on a Tool in combination with a Pex system. Upinor is the only PEX system to buy and own.

It's simple for anyone, more secure and reliable than shark bite fittings. Once it's on, it can't be taken off. I have trust to put fittings in the walls with no worry or fear of the pipes disconnecting. The gun makes the job quick and painful. Although it's a large $ investment, it pays for itself rather quickly!
