SUMMARY: A GREAT QUICK-GRAB COMBINATION WRENCH. BACKGROUND: I use SAE hardware on most of my projects. I have several sets of wrenches in the tool box and various tool bags. Although I’m not a fan of “combination” tools, the Milwaukee Lineman’s wrench looked like it might be a good small form factor for general DIY projects. FIT AND FINISH: My first Milwaukee wrench with a nice, heavy feel. FEATURES: From the Home Depot page, with my comments as appropriate. • 1000-Volt UL classified ◦ More than I will need working my DIY projects, but definitely a good safety feature. • 2 separate metal heads ◦ Each head as two sized sockets. The sockets are 12 point, designed for hex nuts, not square heads. • Durable forged steel • Large directional switches ◦ Easy to see, and easy to use even wearing Milwaukee Demolition Gloves • High contrast size markings ◦ Easy to read. But the marking are on the same side as the socket. I think it would be easier if the markings were on the opposite side so you could see what size you were using. • Ergonomic handle ◦ Not the prettiest thing, but big enough to give a good feel in your hand when torquing down. • Lanyard hole ◦ Definitely handy to keep it from falling off the ladder when in use. • 1/2 in., 9/16 in., 5/8 in. and 3/4 in. 12-point sockets ◦ An almost perfect combination for me. I can work with 5/16”, 3/8”, and 1/2” bolts. The 5/8 isn’t a standard SAE nut size (7/16” bolts are 11/16 heads and nuts.) But 3 out of 4 isn’t bad. OPERATION: I found the wrench easy and comfortable to use. As I mentioned before, it would be nice if the marking for each opening were on the opposite side of the wrench so you could see what size you were using. The large ratchet levers were easy to use, even with Milwaukee demolition gloves on. I was able to easily tighten a half-inch bolt/washer combination until the washer embedded into the wood. SUMMARY: A great general purpose wrench for the most common bolt sized. PROS: Easy to use, even with thick gloves. Easy to read markings CONS: Markings on same side as socket.

Milwaukee Lineman’s 4-IN-1 Insulated Ratcheting Box Wrench 48-22-9212 is a very nice addition to the tool belt. Four wrenches in one, that is extraordinarily robust and resilient to harsh environments...that’s this Milwaukee tool. Large gears allow for more torque, insulated handle rated for 1000v and included an access for lanyards. Thank you Milwaukee!!

For those concerned with origin of manufacture, this tool was manufactured in Taiwan. For the 4 purposes that this tool serves, it is not heavy at 1 lb. Given it has the 4 most used sizes that I need, it replaces the socket wrench and sockets that tend to get lost. Markings indicating sizes are large and easily readable. Each side of the heads have a different 12 point socket, so should last a long time instead of being ground down.

A good Multi use rachet...
Great 4 and 1 tool Rachet. We just started using it and so far it's performed as expected. A little expensive but time will tell. The handle is comfortable. We use the center slot for a tool harness as we work at Heights.

    4 in 1 broke
I had the 4 in 1 wrench loved it for about 5 months all the way up until it broke. There is a hole that runs through the handle in center that is where it broke in too. Need to do a little reinforcing in that area of the handle.
