If you are going to be late to the party, bring a great cuisine not napkins. I feel like this is a trend here, where they are late to the party and the tools are missing major features that others have, while introducing something minor. This is a great tool, the lack of a quicker tool changing mechanism is puzzling to me. It is a tool free system, but not hassle free. My other multi tool allows me to change the blade in about 3 seconds if that. This takes about 20 seconds or so, as you have to push the lever up unscrew the bolt, then rescrew it. There are magnets that help stabilize the blade as you change it. Although this one is friendlier on your thumbs, whereas the others I almost sprained my thumb as I did not apply enough tension to hold it open Nowadays when I get a Milwaukee tool my first thought is what packout will I need. This will fit into the small organizer one. I have only 2 bins in there which work for the accessories. I used this tool to create a notch in a piece of 2x also to remove nails. When removing nails, I would not recommend the bi metal Titanium tip use the Carbide tip blade( sold separately). With the carbide I went through several nails and the teeth are still intact. Whereas after 3 the Titanium need to go to the dentist, lost some teeth. I love that you do not have to squeeze a trigger, you can set it and forget it with the on/off switch. Changing speeds is simple, turn dial. For my hands, I would have liked it if the power switch was higher up, where my thumb rest while holding it so I can turn it off /on effortlessly. The LED stays on for 10 seconds after you power down the tool. Just when I thought it could not be anymore troublesome to remove an M12 battery, this comes along. There is rubber molding inside the battery compartment which ensure a nice snug fit, and probably absorbs some vibration but it also adds to the burden of removing the battery. All in all great tool.

TOOL-FREE BLADE CHANGE; FAST CUTS; LOW VIBRATION; DIFFICULT BATTERY REMOVAL — The Milwaukee M12 F...
TOOL-FREE BLADE CHANGE; FAST CUTS; LOW VIBRATION; DIFFICULT BATTERY REMOVAL — The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit with 4.0 Ah Battery, Charger, Accessories and Tool Bag has several features which make it a great tool. Foremost is the tool-free blade change. That feature works well and is a time-saver. When changing cutting blades, it is not even necessary to remove the fastening bolt. The battery charged in only 30 minutes. Sanding at medium speed for about an hour used half of the battery charge. This multi-tool vibrates less and has double the speed settings (12) than my previous cordless multi-tool. As the speed is increased, the vibration is reduced. Sanding and cutting take less time with this tool. The reduced vibration makes sanding noticeably less tiring. The tool is well-balanced making it easy to hold. This tool comes with a high quality zippered, bag made from a rugged denier material. It does not include tie downs for the tool, battery, and accessories. It lacks a vacuum attachment but the included sanding pad and sandpaper have dust extraction holes which may suggest a vacuum attachment is planned for the future. Such a feature would be welcome when sanding. The kit surprisingly includes only 5 pieces of sandpaper, the sanding pad, and a cutting tool (see photo). Some of my existing accessories such as a scraper and rasp, which I use frequently, will not work with this tool, even with the adapter. A significant deficiency is the difficulty of removing the battery. The instructions say that the battery is removed by pressing on the “buttons” on the side of the battery. There are no buttons but rather a slit on each side below which you should press. Pressing on the battery as specified required one minute to one hour (intermittent trying) to remove the battery. The cause may be a slight tolerance error in the manufacture of the tool or battery. This situation could cause e a safety issue because the battery is supposed to be removed when changing blades. As a result of the difficulty of battery removal, users may choose to keep the battery in place during a blade change and remove it only when the battery needs to be charged. If you don’t mind the frustration when removing the battery, this is a useful tool to have. It has the Milwaukee warranties of five years for the tool and three for the battery. It is made in China.

GREAT AND POWERFUL.
Went with the m12 so I can carry it around in my backpack, but its definitely not that light weight. Have not used it for an actual job yet, but I have tried cutting some wood around the shop to test it out and I have to say that the tool packs some real power, it sounds and feels like an 18v tool especially on its highest setting, but the vibration in my opinion is high ( compared to my atomic dewalt ), but high vibration is more so on low speeds on highest speed its smoother/better vibration. A must if you are invested in team red. I dnt think the m18 is even necessary with the power this seems to wield. It also does some pretty clean and str8 cuts in wood especially if you know what you’re doing. No regrets.

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Oscillating Tool. Includes. Includes battery, charger, 1 wood cutting blade, sander attachment, tool bag and several assorted sandpapers. Has several added features: LED work light w/auto shutoff, speed adjustment, no tool blade change (you do have to back off the holding screw slightly) and on-board battery power level. I have a 120V tool and this one have less vibration and is lighter in weight. Uses open ended cutting blades but I believe if you remove the holding screw, you can use a non-open ended blade. I used mine to cut up a small tree stump. With running the unit almost continually, the battery lasted for about 15 minutes and took just over an hour to recharge. The only down side is the battery fit is tight and is hard to remove. I used a clamp to hold the clips in and a small screwdriver to pry the battery out. The tools / charger instructions can be downloaded for storage.

Milwaukee Tools has hit another home run with their M12 Fuel 12-volt Lithium-ion cordless Oscillating Multi-Tool kit with a 4.0 Ah battery, Charger and Accessories and Tool Bag. A feature of the Milwaukee multi-tool I really like is the tool free, quick release lever used when changing blades, scrapers or sanding pads. All my other multi-tools require an Allen Wrench to loosen a bolt when changing a blade. Milwaukee has designed a cam over quick release to release pressure on the retaining screw that holds the blade or accessories in place. With the pressure released on the retaining screw, it can be loosened by hand, the blade can be changed, then the screw can be retightened by hand and then the quick release handle can be seated applying pressure on the screw holding the blade or accessory in place. With this design I can change the blade quicker than I can find an Allen wrench to loosen the bolt used by my other multi-tools. On the front of the multi-tool there is a handy LED light which shines on the work piece and blade tip. The multi-tool is also variable speed and can be adjusted while the tool is running using your thumb. The tool can be adjusted from 10,000 to 20,000 OPM (oscillations per minute), the adjust knob is marked from 2 to 12. A battery use indicator is located above the speed control. Full charge shows 4 red lights and when the battery is depleted and needs to be charged a single light will flash 8 times and then the tool won’t run until the battery is changed or charged. The accessories include a sanding backing pad and 5 precut sanding sheets (coarseness P60, P80, 2 - P120 and a P240). Also, a 1 3/8-inch, wide wood cutting blade is provided. The 4Ah battery will provide plenty of run time for most daily jobs. I’ve only had the tool for a week so I can’t speak to the longevity, but Milwaukee has a great track record and I would recommend this multi-tool to any craftman.

I perched this because it wasn't a bad deal at all with the XC 4.0 battery and all the other accessories included. Of course Milwaukee is pretty much top of the line power tools for professional's when it comes to reliability and performance. This oscillating tool is the perfect size and has a lot of features for any job as well. Tool free blade change and its compatible with other blades without a adaptor. A speed dial to adjust the speed to the application, 1-10 or 10k-20k OPM. LED light for visibility in low lit areas. Definitely a must have if you work multiple projects and want a all in one. Once again I'm satisfied with Milwaukee tools!

I have a number of Milwaukee tools and just like the others, this one does not disappoint. Out of the box everything is packaged really nicely. Has everything you need to get started including a wood blade and sanding pads. It is longer than your corded multi-tool because of the battery, about 13" total, but I can't think of a time where I ever needed to squeeze into a tight space using one of these. At first glance it has several nice touches that my old tool doesn't have. First - a battery meter right in the middle that lights up when you start the tool. Next - a headlight at the business end of the tool. And my favorite part - there are magnets on the head to hold the blade in place while you tighten it down. And the speed control is in a perfect spot for one handed operation. These are all small details but are great features. As you can see in the video it made very short work of a 2x3. Very little vibration and the weight of it is easy to handle one handed. You will also see I used the lowest speed. If I cranked it up it would have been much faster but I was trying to record while cutting.

    Great So Far
Just got it so I haven’t used it much. Love the tool free blade change. You do have to unscrew the bolt a little but much easier then needing the Allen wrench. I have some old Craftsman blades and the holes don’t quite line up but it seems to hold them solid. Seems quiet, less vibration and solid construction. Brushless too. It is longer then my old Craftsman multi tool, but not too heavy. I was looking forward to the release of this and look forward to using it.

This oscillating tool is amazing, the vibration is so low you can work for hours and it is high speed for really getting the job done quickly. I'm only sorry I didn't buy one when it first came out.
