I like this tools, working fast

I am a DIYer and as I am remodeling my home - time to remove galvanize and also some old copper lines and go the PEX-A pipe. I like Milwaukie drill and right angle drills I have - so I chose this and I am very happy so far. I sweated 2 copper transition fittings ( 1/2") and then went into 2 manifolds and about 30 fittings later - had the hot and cold lines of the laundry room ready for my city inspection. I only used the 1/2" and 3/4" expander heads so far - but it was easy and very comfortable to get semi-confident with this new PEX-A piping system. I did use a couple plugs and did "PRESSURE TESTS" along the way - with no leaks to my satisfaction. Great Job Milwaukie - money was worth this tool.

Milwaukee certainly holds the market on quality, cordless, professional tools. DeWalt used to be good but gave up the race awhile ago.

This tool is amazing. It was my first time ever working with pex and this made everything a breeze. It makes perfect expansions and cuts down the time significantly. One handed operation is a major bonus.

Very user friendly. Simple to setup and use. Also came with PVC cutters which work amazing as well. Expensive to get into but much easier than deal with copper or crimp fittings.

I was in the middle of installing a new water heater in my house when this tool stopped working. It was brand new and I had made a grand total of 4 joints with it. Others have had similar experiences. I ended up sending the tool in for warranty repairs but I am now without hot water for at least a week due to Milwaukee's turnaround time on repair. Save yourself the irritation and lost time and buy the DeWalt expansion tool instead.

The bad part is the price, that's about all the bad I have to say about it. I repiped a whole house on a single battery charge using all 3 sizes. This is quite a bit easier to use than the crimp rings I'm used to with pex, is more foolproof, and it really came in handy for tight locations. Expanding away from the tight area before attaching the fitting can be a fantastic advantage and there's better water flow through expansion fittings. The auto-rotating head makes it compliant for certain types of pex-B that's F1960 rated. This is why I wound up with this tool but in the end I decided to use pex-A for it's relative lack of coil memory and easier bending.

Another well designed and well built tool by Milwaukee. Makes installing a PEX-A plumbing system lighting fast and leak free. Not a cheap tool but worth every penny in time savings and peace of mind knowing the connections are properly expanded.

I am re-piping my entire house and considering what plumbers want I more than paid for this tool by doing it myself. Tool works great, just make sure to read manual and apply grease. After using on some fittings be sure to wipe the face of the expansion cone off as grease will works its way to the face and possibly inside the pipe. In theory that is OK, but why risk it. The supplied battery has plenty pf power to handle 1/2 and 3/4 pipe.
