This vacuum is a very well built with impact resistant plastic. It can last for many years and will do a light to medium pickup job satisfactorily. The accessory tools and hose fit compactly under the lid which is tightly latched. The filter is easily accessed for removal for wet debris pickup. It also has a high and low power switch that would help the battery last longer. While it is well designed for longevity it lacks usability. I tested the battery on high power and it lasted 17 minutes. On low power it may last 30 minutes. A professional would probably require the high power which means that it won't last long for a good size job. It takes 1 hour to recharge. If you are looking for the battery for use with other tools it will only work with the M12 equipment line. I personally would want more power and want the tools available in the M18 line. The hose is somewhat short and I had to bend over in order to use it so that it would touch the floor. I am 5ft 9in tall. Its also on the heavy side at about 13 lbs. but does come with a handle which it nice although I at times I wish it had carrying straps to have both hands available to move things around while cleaning. I felt that the blower capability was too low for any practical use because I had to put the nozzle almost to the floor to blow any debris.

Would be great if it ran longer that 30 seconds
I purchased this shop vac the other day to keep in the work truck. Threw in a 4.0 ah battery and used it right away to clean up the diver seat. Loved it. Unfortunately it only took 15 seconds to clean the seat or I would have noticed the issue right away. 2 days later grabbed it to clean up some sheet rock dust. Ran for 30 seconds and shut down. Grabbed a 4.0 off the charger and threw it in. Didn’t even last 30 seconds and shut off. After reading other reviews I see it has a thermal over load issue. I hope Milwaukee fixes the issue quick. It would be a great little vac if it worked.

Fantastic little vac for your garage, workshop, or on the go. It's much easier to use this for small jobs than to unpack my big 5 gallon vacuum. Suction power on it is very good and the noise level isn't bothersome. It has a high and low mode. The low power mode is great if you want to conserve battery power and/or need to keep the noise down. I did not keep an eye on run times with different batteries as I only used it for quick, small jobs. Performance is excellent when dealing with fine materials, such as drywall, dust, and sawdust. It can handle larger objects as well, though it tends to clog at the inlet since the hose enters at a 90 degree angle. Longer debris lodges itself there and anything that follows gets stuck. The hose length is adequate for small jobs - it only pulls out about 40" before the vacuum starts moving with it. It has to fit under the lid hence the short hose. This could be a problem if you have it attached to a power tool that has a vacuum attachment since you can't move it very far (ex: cutting plywood). I'm going to fab up an adapter so that I can attach an extension to it. One thing that kind of bothers me is the fact that the tip doesn't directly interface with the vacuum port on Milwaukee's tools - you have to buy a separate adapter. I think they missed the mark here. Ended up designing and 3d printing my own since I needed one ASAP. Did not try suctioning any water with the vacuum, so no comment on that. Overall, a great little compact vacuum that offers excellent performance for its size. It has some limitations but nothing too detrimental.

it went dead after a few months
I bought this vac because L alredy had the m18 battery sytem with varius tools, after a year or so it didnt work anymore, try to fix it but no luck, then i went back and got a second one ( I liked it) the second only lasted about two months and it went dead again so that was a waste of money, I wouldnt recomend it, They have to fix this issue and stop selling it untill they fix the issue.

The concept of this Milwaukee M12 1.6 Gallon Wet Dry Vacuum is good. It is basically a vacuum in a small box that is self contained. The hose, battery, and two tools are inside the top cover. The bottom section holds the filter and any debris picked up by the vacuum. This particular model does not include a battery or charger. The manual suggests using a foam filter for wet operation but the product does not include it. The manual also references a fine dust bag that is not included. The included filter for dry operation is specially designed for the tool and you will have to buy replacements from Milwaukee. The hose is short but supposedly can expand to 5 feet. I did not find it easy to expand the hose to a length anywhere near that. What is nice about the hose is the flap on the side which makes it easy to lock/unlock the hose from the vacuum and blow ports. I also liked that there is a cutout in the side of the top to let the hose exit and the top still latch closed. The black base that collects all of the debris has a lip around the top edge. I realize this is for stability and mating to the motor assembly top half. Unfortunately, that lip catches liquids and debris during dumping preventing all of the contents from being removed easily. If they had tapered the wall to the lip, all of the debris would come out much easier. In dry mode I tested vacuuming dirt, animal hair, small pieces of wire and nuts and bolts. The nuts and bolts would only be picked up in high mode. For the wet test I put a gallon of water in a bucket and sucked it up multiple times. It took about 6 seconds to drain the full gallon and the vacuum didn’t struggle at all. Many other reviewers have mentioned battery issues. I too experienced some odd battery conditions but nothing as extreme as other reviewers. My first battery was an XC4.0 that was half charged. When I put it into the vacuum it flashed lights back and forth indicating it was overheated and would not start even though the battery had just come out of storage and was cold. I put the battery on the charger for a few minutes and then put it in the vacuum again and the vacuum started this time. The second battery I used was a standard 2.0 which did not exhibit any issues. Some reviewers also indicated high and low speeds had no difference but in my case high and low speeds did function materially differently and I was able to run the vacuum for multiple minutes without any problems. On high speed with the XC 4.0 battery I was only able to get 11 minutes of run time before the battery was drained and the vacuum turned itself off. One frustrating item of note is removing the battery from the tool. It is very difficult to get one’s hand on both battery clips of the XC battery. Because there is not enough clearance, I found I had to remove the utility nozzle from its storage location then use two hands to press on both battery clips then try to wiggle the battery out simultaneously. This will be frustrating for long term use. The regular 2.0 battery is much easier to remove but obviously will not have the runtime of an XC battery.

Milwaukee always has the best products. We don't have a lot of outdoor outlets, so we always have to run extension cords around the house to use electric tools. The MILWAUKEE M12 FUEL 12-VOLT LITHIUM-ION CORDLESS 1.6 GAL. WET/DRY VACUUM is perfect for cleaning out the car, truck or any mess that requires a wet/dry vacuum. It has two attachments, one wide and one narrow, that fit right inside the top of the unit. The bottom, where the dry or wet stuff goes, has a good size well and a filter. The unit is a little heavy compared to my other outdoor wet/dry vacuum, but I can set it down of the floor or seat and still reach whatever I need to clean. The hose is a decent length and the suction is really good. The 12 volt battery holds a charge long enough for me to do my whole car with re-charging. The battery does not come with it.

Milwaukee M18 FUEL PACKOUT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 2.7 Gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum (Tool-Only) – Milwaukee has two M18 portable shop vacuums this is the higher priced Packout model that is compatible with Milwaukee Packout storage and parts boxes. The vac is light-weight (about 15 pounds with battery) and is a nice-looking compact tool with a fold down handle for attaching Packout boxes both to the top and bottom. A compartment under the lid provides storage for the vac’s accessories and the location for the M18 battery powering the vac. Accessories include the usual, crevice tool, nozzle and power tool dust-collection adapter. (Battery is purchased separately) The vac has two speeds and is very quiet on both. The low speed is pretty low, fine for light materials, dust, etc. without sucking up everything around it. On high it’s great; picks up wood chips, small chunks of plaster, concrete chips and small gravel and other debris. I attached the vac hose to the dust collection hose of an orbital sander; with the vac on high and with its HEPA filter it did a very good job keeping up with the dust.

Very nice design and robustly built. This is a great jobsite tool where one may need to clean up messes. Everything, including the battery, is contained within the ‘box’. On the top you find a fold-out handle as well as the power switch in a recess, along with a battery charge indicator. The top of the machine is opened by releasing two latches on the front and reveals the barry holder, the vacuum tube as well as two attachments. The two attachments are a broad floor sweeper and a small crevice tool. The hose can be routed out through a hole in the side allowing the top to be closed while the machine is in use. It stretches to 5’ Large clips on either side release the bottom dirt compartment for empting. The dirt compartment is strong and has a pretty large capacity (1.6 gallons). Hanging off the bottom of the center part of the machine is a removal, washable HEPA filter. The filter bayonets into its housing make a secure fastening The vacuum will handle both wet and dry material. As with most wet/dry vacs, there is a float that will cut off power when the tank is full. The normal filter is not used when sucking up liquids. I find it light enough to hold in one hand while I use the hose in the other. Having it battery powered makes it easy to move around without a power cable damaging fragile items. It is not too noisy and it sucks things up well. The rocker power switch provides two speed modes. The battery charge indicator shows the battery charge for a few seconds after turning the unit on. The hose can be disconnected and attached to the air outlet turning the machine into a portable blower. Also included is a wall bracket that allows the whole machine to be hung on a wall. It is also possible to attach a fine dust bug (available separately item 49-90-2016) inside the dirt compartment. One can also purchase a 1-1/4" Round Brush Tool (item 49-90-2017) and a tube adaptor for connecting directly to power tools (Power tool adaptor item 49-90-2018). So it is good to see support through a range of accessories. Overall a clearly well thought out and well engineered product. Highly recommended.

STRONG SUCTION; QUIET; LONG RUN TIME; EASY to STORE and CARRY; SUPERIOR DESIGN — The Milwaukee M18 FUEL PACKOUT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 2.5 Gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum (Tool-Only) makes my two current shop vacuums, one corded and one cordless, obsolete. The rectangular shape of this vacuum allows for more efficient storage vs. the typical round shop vacs. It has a wide handle for easy carrying. The attachments may be stored inside the high-quality case and the flexible hose fits securely on the outside of the case. It has a crevice tool and a very wide utility attachment for quick pickups of debris. The battery fits inside the case. The run time is dependent upon the size of the battery and whether high or low speed is used. I used mine primarily on high speed because it makes a cleanup go faster. If necessary, I can easily swap batteries. The long run time allows me to completely vacuum my car whereas my previous cordless vac battery only lasts for 7 minutes which was not sufficient. The high suction vs. my other vacs is a noticeable advantage. The 2.5 gallon tank seems to be an optimal size for most applications. The tank is easy to unlatch and empty. The vacuum may also be used as a wet vacuum or as a blower. A separate filter may be purchased for picking up fine particles. It is part of the Packout system for transporting tools easily and comes with a Packout lock. It would help if it had a long extension attachment which would allow debris on the floor to be vacuumed while standing up which would make the task go faster. It has a five-year warranty. It is made in the USA with parts from Cambodia and Viet Nam.

Over the years whenever I decided to upgrade my canister vacuums the old ones would go out to the garage to be used mostly to clean the cars. The garage vac recently stopped working and I needed to replace it. I decided that I would get a cordless one and eliminate the hassle of having cords. I chose the Milwaukee M12 Fuel 1.6 Gallon Wet/Dry vacuum. My experience with the Milwaukee brand has been a good one, I already have one of their tools that uses the M12 battery so I received the tool only option ( model 0960-20) of this vac. It comes with a crevice tool, a utility nozzle ( upholstery), a hose, filter and a wall mount all nicely stored inside the vac (see picture). It has a maximum air flow of 42 CFM, wet capacity of 1.6 gallons and dry of 1.5 gallons, it weighs 9.7 lbs (without battery) Its size is 13.7”x8.7”x11.9”. Run-time is 14 minutes on high and 26 minutes on low. Took it out to the car and it works like a champ. The low setting worked quite well cleaning the carpet and upholstery and the high setting has excellent suction. The only downside is that the hose I very short and you have pull on it quite a bit to get it longer, this may remedy itself after many uses. I would recommend this vac.

The best feature of the MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL PACKOUT 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum is that it fits into the Packout stack of tools. The vacuum measures ~16 inches wide, ~13 inches tall and 10 ½ inches deep (front to back). It looks like a large lunch box. But inside is a great storage compartment for a crevice tool, a utility nozzle, hose adaptor and battery compartment. A vacuum hose, approximately 3 ft. long is wrapped around and stored nicely in the side of the vacuum. This vacuum is designed so when you show up at the job you have everything you need to vacuum up any debris, and since it powered with a battery you don’t even need to plug it in. On the bottom half of the unit are 2 large latches this allows access to the filter and the debris collection box. The filter is easily removed when rotated counterclockwise. The filter should be removed if vacuuming up water. The filter fits over the float valve cage which protects the vacuum fan/motor. There is a bracket on the end of the dirt compartment which guides the inlet nozzle and helps with orientation and reassembly of the bottom half of the vacuum to the top half. The vacuum hose can be relocated to the exhaust side of the vacuum to make it a blower hose. The on/off switch is located left side of the vacuum and has 2 speeds, high and low. This vacuum is great little unit. The only thing that needs work is the hose adapter provided as an accessory. It is so slick and poorly tapered it won’t stay inserted in any hose, hose extension nozzle or tool I have. I think duct tape is the only thing that will make the hose adapter work. This a very minor issue. Overall, I would give the MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL PACKOUT 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum 5 stars. It vacuums up small debris and is very portable and has everything you need for a small clean up job.

I received my Milwaukee fuel 12-volt vacuum today; I used an XC4.0 battery to try this vacuum out. Milwaukee claims this 12-volt vacuum is more powerful than the competitor's 20-volt portable vacuum. I have the competitor's 20-volt model, and after trying out this Milwaukee 12-volt vacuum, they are correct; this Milwaukee is more powerful than my other brand 20-volt model. Here are some of the features I like about this Milwaukee vacuum. It comes with an easy twist on-off washable HEPA filter, or it can be tapped against a garbage can to clean. The vacuum is quieter than my other brand vacuum. It can be used as a blower by removing the hose from the vacuum and placing it in the blower port. The vacuum has an auto shut off feature when using to pick up liquids, and you do not need to remove the filter (it is a wet/dry filter) The vacuum has a two-speed on-off switch, which is sealed with a rubber boot. My first test for this Milwaukee 12 -volt vacuum was to vacuum my car's dark-colored interior after bringing my dog back from the dog park. It worked great, lots of power, and it was fast. Then I used it to pick up hundreds of pine needles from my artificial Christmas tree (which sheds more than a real one). It worked better than I had expected. Overall, this Milwaukee 12-volt portable vacuum has strong suction, is easy to maintain, lightweight and powerful and has a large capacity for a compact vacuum.

      Great Vac
I really like this vacuum. I also have the 0880-20 so i am also able to you all a comparison opinion. This new version is well made and the features stand out as Milwaukee quality. The high/low speed feature is nice and will be useful for areas that you don't want to be a nuisance. The hose tip interchange with adapter is a nice feature that i missed on my 0880 version. The packout features really are what gives this vac the edge, but if you are not a packout user, I would honestly recommend the 0880-20 for normal cleanup needs. The power/suction of this and the previous version is not that much different. They both have plenty of oomph, with this new version having a bit more suction............I don't know what they are comparing to in regards to the 60% more suction claim. I'd say it's more like 10% over the older version. But, the fact that this one is brushless means it'll last forever and not become louder as time goes due to a brushed motor wearing out. The only niggle i have with this one is that the 2 attachments fit in the upper compartment, but the hose tip does not when using an 8.0 battery, so plan on finding a place to keep it where you won't lose it.

When I look at this vacuum I compare it to the slightly smaller Milwaukee Vacuum I already had (the 2 gal one). The first thing I see is this one costs twice what I paid for the 2 gallon one. But while it is bigger I can’t see much of a difference in weight. I can’t really feel the difference. So what you get for the additional money is more capacity, the utility of working with the rest of the packout stuff including the cart if you have that. But the most striking thing that I noticed after firing this one up is how much quieter it is than the other one. The difference really is striking and you notice it immediately. This one is far quieter. I love my 2 gallon one. I have had it about 2 years and I still consider it by far the best portable vacuum I have every had. And I have never had one ounce of regret about buying it. But if I had to listen to it a lot regularly I would consider this alone perhaps to be worth the price difference because the 2 gal is a lot louder. So you do get more for that higher price. And if you need the added volume it may be the one for you. If you are just doing small jobs and don’t need the extra volume (0.5 gal more) and don’t mind the noise the smaller one is hard to beat when choosing between this one and that one as far as value. So each has its place. I’m glad to have both and I will use both. One nice thing if you have both is it looks like it uses the same filter as the 2 gallon one so you don’t have to buy different filters to keep a spare on hand. I also like that the hose wraps around the outside where it is available quickly without opening up unlike the smaller one. One thing I wish is that the top had a place for a couple of the attachments so you could stash them there and grab them without opening it up. This one also has 2 speeds where the other has only one speed. So that is another delta between the two. I can’t see being disappointed with either one of them.

No more extension cords and looking for outlets . I can bring up to my car and not bring car up to vacuum . I can vacuum out all 4 of out cars and still plenty of battery left . Portability is king with this and sucks up water , no problem . I absolutely love this .

          Best Portable vac hands down
I’ve had the m18 version of this and let had several other portable vacs in the past and this little m12 vac is killer. Everything about it is nice, super compact. Has as much power as the m18 version and lasts just as long. Plus batteries cost less so why wouldn’t this make sense. Although they did tack on an additional 30 bucks compared to the 18v version probably for that reason alone haha, abut it does look even nicer than the m18. The m12 vac works great. Super nice to carry while cleaning up. It’s a perfect size, perfect weight, looks awesome.

Great quality product, well made and very compact. I really hoped for even more suction power. It's great that all the accessories are stored on the vacuum so convenient. Also, great not to have an electric cord to deal with while working. I do wish a brush attachment was included. We have used it around the house, boat, and its great to use in the car. It is so durable that I see it lasting for many years to come.

The Milwaukee wet/dry vacuum solves a lot of issues we have all had with the typical electric powered vac. First of all, the Milwaukee is compact, it can be used while attached to the "Packout" modular system. The hose stretchers/expands out about four (4) feet but, retracts, then can be stored onboard. On the hose, you can remove the ends to attach the "power tool" adapter. Note: Rotate the fitting "clockwise" to remove. The accessories store on board, no more throwing them in the reservoir. I like that you can pick it up from the sides or flip up the handle to move around. I am currently using a 6mAH battery, but you can use any M18 batt. It can be used as a blower, and it even has a 2-speed motor. If you notice pic. four (4), this is where you attach the fleece dust bag for "fine" dust pick up, purchased separately. On page five (5) of the manual, they recommend using a foam filter for wet pick up, for this kind of money you would think they would throw one in. So far, I have used it to vac. out the windowsills and misc. spots. As far as noise low speed is tolerable, high speed, while quieter than my electric, still gets annoying quickly. From what I read into the literature an 8mAH battery seems to be the recommended size for at least 30 minutes of run time. Depending on how you use this, and what batteries, if any, you have on hand, you will have to determine battery size for run time expected. For wet pick up, I am thinking the 12mAH would be best, power and run time. This is one top of the line wet/dry vacuums.

The Milwaukee Brand, M18 FUEL PACKOUT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 2.5 Gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum (Tool-Only), has outstanding suction and air flow in a portable battery-operated vacuum. The vacuum incorporates a two-speed motor, the lower speed is more useful for collecting lighter debris leaving heavier ones behind. Using my digital manometer, the vacuum measured an amazing 43-inches water column. The air flow is such that it gobbles up anything nearby, including nuts, bolts, washers, and screws. The sound volume and tone of the vacuum is low and reasonable, listed at only 87 dB, yet sounds quieter. A Milwaukee extra capacity 5 amp-hour battery will power the vacuum as well as a more powerful battery with no loss in power, only providing somewhat reduced operating time over higher capacity batteries. Don’t be fooled by the short appearance of the expandable vacuum hose, it will stretch out to a full 8-feet in length and retract to its compact length for storage. The hose can be connected to the exhaust port to operate as a blower, while air flow from the nozzle is strong at 50CFM, it loses force quickly away from the nozzle. There is one improvement I think Milwaukee could make to improve the performance of the vacuum hose. While cleaning up my workbench and workshop floor, the hose plugged up twice with wood chips and metal shavings at a restriction in the vacuum hose locking coupler (see photo). In addition to being a good portable lunch box size vacuum all alone, it features Packout system compatibility locking into Packout boxes and allowing Packout components to be attached to the lid. Despite the hose plugging twice, I did not feel the overall good performance of this vacuum justified less than a 5 of 5 rating.

Like all other Milwaukee tools, a tool you can trust. I have used the Milwaukee M-18 tool platform for over a decade now, and have never been let down, neither by the tool or the battery. Especially the batteries, which have far outlasted other cordless tools I have used in the past 20 years. This is an excellent vacuum with the power and tools to do anything, whether inside the house, in the garage, or using in the driveway to clean out my truck. It was made to be moved around, with the excellent, rugged handle on top that can be ‘parked’ on either side of the box. The hose stores easily around the perimeter of the vacuum and it contains three tools just inside the upper portion, where your battery goes. They include a wide, flat head, a crevice tool, and the best part? It includes a connector that will fit a lot of common tools, such as sander, etc., while you work. NOTE: When removing the stock tip to replace with the accessory tip - it unscrews clockwise, NOT counterclockwise. All tools store easily and can’t get lost while moving it from one job to the next. It also includes a heavy duty paper element that should serve well. And since the tool is wet/dry, it can be used for emergency spills or overruns, inside or out. And the best part? The on/off switch has a High and Low position, to conserve power when you can. Yippee! For small jobs I even grab this vacuum instead of the upright house vacuum for small jobs. A good, fair price for a great tool!

This is a new design from Milwaukee. There are at least three other 18V Wet/Dry vac models. This is 2.7 Gal or 2.5 in the other manual, and has onboard tool storage and a tucked in 6-foot retracting coiled hose. There is a carry handle that tucks away and the vacuum is part of the PACKOUT system. Definitely quieter than expected and better suction and air blowing than expected. The hose is easy to move from blow to suck and has very good suction. There are 2 speeds and the low is battery conservation mode but the high is excellent. I ran it 20 minutes on high and had power left with a 5.0 HO battery. Claims to lift a head of water 47”. Also, the 50 CFM suction is able to connect to the blower exhaust. The suction is 60% better and less than 90db on high power. About 30 minutes run on high and 50 minutes run on low with an 8.0 HO Battery. Comes with an adapter to fit other dusty tools and other attachments. High - Off or Low on the power switch. It’s great for small one-man operations that you clean as you go. Big areas need more resources and a longer hose. This is an excellent tool for most jobs that only need 1-2 gallons of pick up. Easy filter change and disposable bags are optioned. They recommend a filter bag to extend the life of the filter and catch more debris. An excellent add to a pack out kit.

This M18 FUEL PACKOUT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 2.7 Gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum is proving to be quite helpful around the house and shop. It comes with Crevice Tool, Floor/Bench Tool, Nozzle, and Power Tool Adapter. The tools and included hose all store nicely out of the way. It also includes a HEPA Filter. The filter is very easy to remove for cleaning/replacement or for wet vacuuming. With 2 speeds, it has sufficient suction for most jobs, and can be used as a blower. At only 87db, it’s much quieter than my other shop vac. It uses Milwaukee’s FUEL brushless motor technology which runs cooler, and longer per charge, than brush type motors. At only about 12-1/2 lbs. it will be handy to use for quick cleanup of the bench and surrounding area. And, it will be much easier than the 16 Gal. vac. for this aging guy to carry up and down the ladder for cleaning the swamp cooler on the roof. It will be great for quick cleanup of small messes from fix-it jobs in the house. I’ll likely get the Fleece Dust Bags to use with fine dust like the sander produces, or even sheetrock dust. As a DIY Homeowner, I won’t be using the PACKOUT feature, but is great for users like my contractor sons. Since this is a (Tool Only) item from the SEEDS program, I also received a XC 5.0A Battery and Charger to use for testing. The battery charged up fairly quickly and at 5.0A, it should easily get most jobs done. I have grown very fond of my Milwaukee cordless tools and this is going to be no exception.

            Hardcore
We used this to vacuum up soup like mud with clay in order to get to a pipe that we had to find to fix. This thing kept going for over an hour, at least, like it was nothing. We tried using a large shop vac and this Milwaukee vacuum is a power house, it put the usual large shop vac to shame. I also used this when I detailed the company vehicles. Hands down, this is a must have. Clearly well built and trustworthy.

              Impressed
I bought one of these last week to use for quick clean-ups, but I didn't expect it to be so powerful. The wife said it would be handy to vacuum the cars and I told her I didn't think it would be. Boy was I wrong. Now I won't have to drag the big shop vac and drop cord out every time. This has been handy to do the quick clean-ups of my enclosed trailer, some of those hard to get to areas in the house. I've used these on some job sites and they make things so much quicker and easier. Connecting it to tools make things so much cleaner. I like that the hose can be stored inside and out of the way. I wish that I had gotten one of these a long time ago.

                Disappointed with this one
I use this vac for clean up on cabinet rework. The right hand latch broke on this one and fell into a space between cabinets and the wall so i can't get to the piece. Looking up the part shows it is discontinued. The box that it came in was tossed out as i never have had any Milwaukee tools needing to be returned. Not sure i will buy another one based on how easy the latch broke. I bought 2 of these already, hope the 2nd unit doesn't fail.

                  So disappointed with this one
First let me say that i love and use exclusively Milwaukee M18 power tools for all my needs from carpentry to interior remodeling. I have bought 2 of these little vacuums as the first proved so worthy. Bought both within a week of each other. This second unit unfortunately has failed. The right hand latch broke, and did so while sitting on top of a newly installed set of cabinets where the plastic piece shot off to a spot where the piece fell down behind a cabinet never to be seen again.....unless we uninstall them. I no longer have the box as i felt no need to keep clutter in my shop, so i probably can't exchange this now. The latch part number is listed on Milwaukee's site, but comes up as discontinued.

                    Attachments do not fit
Be warned that if you attempt to use any vacuum attachments that are not provided with this vac, you will likely have problems using those attachments. Most vacuum attachments are made to work with a 1.2" diameter male hose end. The male hose end on this vacuum is 1.3". Most attachments I have do not fit securely and consequently fall off when using this vac. The included photo shows that a third party attachment does not fit well, and results in an insecure connection with a gap for air to leak out. Milwaukee needs to redesign the hose end, to reduce the diameter, and provide current owners with a solution for the diameter that is too large. Otherwise the vac is fine, as long as long as you don't need to use third party attachments.

                      Really convenient!
This vacuum is really easy to use. It has plenty of attachments to choose from and the hose detaches easily if something gets stuck inside. Great suction- I use it for stairs and cleaning the entryway. No cords, but I would recommend an extra battery because you get about 10 min with a charge.
