I have many Milwaukee products and usually they far exceed my expectations but not this one. I have a lot a touch smaller than .25 acre. This thing can’t make it through one trim session though. But it seems the unit itself constantly overheats. Batteries have no impact either. So you are out there in the heat wanting to get the job done and your work is prolonged because the machine has to cool down. Avoid. You’ll just wish you had a gas trimmer.

Better Than Gas! I have a gas trimmer and was not expecting this trimmer to be as good and I was pleasantly surprised. The trimmer attachment is longer so it is easier to control and allows me to support it with my forearm which is a huge advantage considering I have a half acre yard to keep trimmed. Regarding battery power, I completed 80% of the yard with one 5 Ah XC battery with the trimmer at high speed and the line setting at 16”. I am very pleased with tool!

whats the point in writing a review, I did, it was never posted. So I wait a couple weeks and write another one, but once again after an email thanking me for submitting a review, it has not been posted.

A great tool very virtual

assembly instructions, could be better, they did give hex tool for assembly but the wrong end of tool is keyed for installing screws, restringing spool is miserable, not easy to get string to extend when in use.

Great attachment! Performs exactly as its intended

Great trimmer very light weight equipment for being a battery powered it is very powerful.

Weed eater will not stay running and goes into overload after seconds of use. Have to pull the trigger over and over again to get seconds worth of use.

Easy to use and the battery lasts alot longer than I expected. Highly reccomended

Checked several different brands, but already owned Milwaukee M18 tools. Its quality and performance was as expected and I am very pleased. Easy line loading, no gas, and easy to use.

Bought because I was sick of trying to get my old gas trimmer started for the last month and already have multiple M18 tools. Assembled quickly and was already loaded with string which was nice. Trimmed my 1 acre property with a 6Ah battery with battery power to spare. Can't comment on durability yet but initial run was what I expected. Versatility of changing out attachments in the future will be nice as well.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews but this tool is a piece of junk. It’s completely useless in the summertime as it overheats very quickly and then stops running. You’ll have about 5 minutes to get your yard done. I’m going out to get a gas stihl. I know it will run when I need it to.

Bought two M18 trimmers. Each one worked for a couple of years , roughly. At some point they start cutting out after 5-10 minutes of use and then they're just frustrating to use. It happened to both m18 string trimmers I had, and fresh batteries won't help. They also run through batteries fast which lowers the battery life span it appears.... I'm thinking the string trimmers may best be left to gas.... Or else you're buying batteries and trimmers every couple years.

Easily attaches using quick lock and has enough power to cut a good edge while using very little battery.

Kind of bulky and heavy but it works really well. I was disappointed because it was a father's day gift and somehow it was canceled. It took me over and hour to put in the original order and then over and hour to redo the order. It was very frustrating. Usually I love Home Depot but I was disappointed with this order.

this edger was easy to use with great results Fast edging, easier than flip edging saves a lot on the arm

This works very well, however, the first problem I had was it killed 2 of my batteries. Milwaukee sent me a new unit, now the string trimmer head broke internally. The motor spins, but the head will not turn. I reached out to Milwaukee and they told me its "out of warranty" by 2 months and I would have to send it to them and pay for the repair. So just keep in mind that it only seems to last the warranty period and that was with light residential use for about 3 months a year.

Very nice unit. Great battery life easy to use. Love the slower speed I am a small female and can handle it
