Great tool
Let me start of by sawing I had a brad nailer from another manufacturer and it was a great gun. Then I saw the Milwaukee had came out with the second gen brad nailer and was very interested in it bc I already had the 15 ga trim nailer and love it. So I went online read the reviews and everything look great so I bought it. This gun is awesome! I use it almost everyday at work being a carpenter, such as crown molding to case and base and it’s a dream. It’s well balanced in your hand and the weight is good. I like there is no leg in the firing. It doesn’t jump like other guns when fired causing trim to move. There are different nose attachments that come with it. Which is great And no hoses or gas charges. There are a few guys at work that have tried it and say the same thing

    Great Nailer
Needed it to put down quarter round trim. I have a pnuematic set but so tired of hauling around hoses and compressor ans waiting for compressor to charge ans hoping where I’m working has power. This nailer “nailed” the job, doing exactly what I needed. No hassle, no charge up time. Just quality nail driving every time. Drove about 100 nails so far. Not a ton, but no misfires and perfect countersink. Maybe adjusted once. Only thing I didn’t like is when I got to about 8 nails left it kept firing but no nails. I shot about 4 nails before catching it, and firing pin made dents. Tried to match nails with dents after reload. Got very close, but made holes bigger. Not noticable with the trim I used or with caulk on white trim, bur wish there was some sort of alert to let me know nails are low or stop firing.

      Great tool!
As a general carpenter, I often thought of how a cordless nailer would be really useful to speed up my everyday work. I have bought this nailer about a month ago and have been pleasantly surprised of how handy it is! From installing crown and trim to pining wood work and cabinetry this nailer is handy! The nailer is well balanced and even though it looks fairly bulky it is surprisingly light! Not having to drag a hose(leaky after some use) after me, and set up a compressor (always noisy) and worry about finding a plug - it's definitely great! The depth mechanism and led light location don't allow you to come as close to your work piece as you would want but - overall is not a great issue. So far I have been really pleased!

I would buy this product again and again
Was holding out for the second gen 18 gauge. HUGE improvements over the first. Great balance and set nails from all angles. Not quite ready to cut the cord (or hose) just yet but this gun comes out every day as it has some great advantages over dragging a hose and gripping a gun between the jeans!!!

          Never going back to pneumatic
I bought this nailer to replace my Hitachi cordless brad nailer. Was tired of having two sets of batteries and chargers and not having a battery guage on the Hitachi battery. This nailer seems to be lighter, and is definitely thinner. I was unable to use the Hitachi for toe kick installation, but this one fits under the cabinets which is a big deal. Typical usage was for window installs and small jobs where it wasn't worth the set up time for air, but now that I've used this one, with the speed, power, and mobility it offers, I haven't brought out my pneumatic. Did an entire house of casing and baseboard, swapped the batteries when convenient. Never had one die on me. 100% recommend this product. I've heard some negative things about the gen 1 but never owned one myself, nothing but good things to say about this Gen 2.

Milwaukee has made significant improvements with its new battery operated 18-gauge nailer. This kit (Model 2746-21CT, Made in America except for the battery) weighs 5lb, 7oz without battery – virtually the same as the other brand's. Compared to the previous Milwaukee model it's smaller, with slight offset angle for much better ergonomics, especially on the wrist. The weight is distributed to provide good balance in use. It has a good line of sight, making it easy to see where the nail will be driven. There is no wind-up noise when the unit is preparing to fire or when the “bump” contact is engaged - just a quick fire when the trigger is pulled or when operating in bump mode. Power and Mode buttons are sealed “bubble” switches and take a deliberate, long push to activate (about 1.5 seconds). There is also a low-battery indicator that apparently illuminates when the battery is very low. I've fired off about 100 brads so far and the battery still shows fully charged. Fixing nail jams will be a breeze, with the easy-open cover to access the piston but so far I've not had a single jam. There is no trigger lockout, only the Power button. There is also a single bright LED to illuminate the work surface. It's mounted near the battery but illuminates the area, although the driver tip casts a shadow exactly where the nail will be. The belt hook works on either side (interchangeable with a hex-head wrench), but without a battery in place the hook keeps the unit from sitting flat. With battery, the unit is stable standing on a flat surface. The nail gun has plenty of power – there was no trouble driving 2” nails below the surface into solid oak. The depth of nail adjustment is easy to use, with a large “thumb wheel” that can be turned even while wearing work gloves. Unit comes with 2 extra (different) rubber tips that store on prongs on the magazine. I have six other nail guns of various brands, both battery and pneumatic. This is definitely my favorite.

Incredible cordless brad nailer let's you ditch the hoses and gas cartridges for good. This is the Gen2 model of Milwaukee's M18 Fuel 18ga Brad Nailer. The first generation was not well received, but the Gen2 model appears to have fixed any issues, making this a tool that genuinely rivals a professional air-powered model. I say "professional" because Milwaukee doesn't make anything but the best, and I'm as impressed with this nailer as I have ever been with a cordless power tool. So far I've used this bad boy to install trim under a window sill, install quarter round on top of hardwood, and re-attach some loose pieces of baseboard, all with 2" brads. I have a 3Ah battery, making the total weight around 6.3 lbs, so not too unwieldy for something that'll work all day. The line of sight is excellent with an LED light automatically shining to eliminate any shadows, allowing for precise placement. It fires strongly but with minimal recoil and is ready to fire again pretty much immediately. Multiple tips are included (clipped to the handle) to suit various uses and the cartridge load system holds up to 110 brads at a time. There's a wheel on the upper-right handle that allows you to customize the head depth. In my testing, it works extremely well, as I was able to either barely bury the heads, or bury 1/8" deep into soft and hard woods using this setting. The holes it made in the quarter round and trim I've used this for were so small we didn't need to fill them. Up next is a few rooms of crown moulding, and some bead board with a chair railing. I'll update this with some project pics, but for now, I'm blown away. No gas cartridges to replace. No tangled hoses. Only professional results.

            2746-20 Review
This nail gun is amazing. It runs all day on a 2.0 battery. Never bends nails or jams. Make sure you get the 2746-20. The older m18 nailer was disapointing. This gen 2 is the best available though

The tool is lightweight yet powerful. I like the balance, it doesn't tire your wrist with the battery attached. It has an adjustable depth setting that is easy to use with an adjustment dial on the side. It has single sequential actuation as well as contact or bump actuation. The latter can come in handy on big jobs. I also like the fact that it comes with a roomy carrying bag. Based on my experience with other M18 tools I expect this tool to have a long, reliable life.

Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Gen II 18-Gauge Brad Nailer (Tool-Only) – Many, many years ago, I did finished carpentry with a hammer, nail set, drill and nails; it was very time-consuming. When I bought my first pneumatic nailgun I thought it couldn’t get better than this. Well, it is better, much better. Milwaukee’s battery-operated brad-nailer works as well as any quality pneumatic gun but doesn’t require a compressor or air hose. The nose is nice and small allowing you to shoot brads exactly where you want them. Loading the gun is a snap as is setting the depth control to the right set and although I haven’t yet had a misfire, they should be easy to clear. With a 4.0AH battery it is a hefty tool compared to an air gun, otherwise it’s a great tool.

I wish I had one of these during my home renovation. This nailer is a boon for folks like me who tend to be "hammer challenged". This is a great tool for installing baseboard or tacking boards together to hold them for gluing or screwing. I also use this to secure fence boards that have come loose over the years to the rails. I like the ability to dial in the depth of the nail can leave the head just proud of the wood, flush or buried. However, I have noticed there is some variation with the depth from one nail to the next, not huge, but noticeable. For most of my projects this isn't a big deal. The driver has two modes, one nail per trigger squeeze ("single shot" good for accurate nail placement) and "Tap and nail" with the trigger depressed (great for running along a base board "machine gun" style. The included battery and charger do a good job of charging the battery in short order. If you are likely to use this nailer for big jobs, I'd recommend investing in a second or third battery to keep yu from having to stop when you run out of "juice". The included carry bag is roomy enough for the nailer, battery, charger and an assortment of boxes of nails. The only Con I have so far is that the LED light on the gun doesn't really illuminate where the nail is going very well.

I really like this generation Nailer better
This new nailer is consistent and works great. Used it on trim job with many more to come. I used it with a 3ah high output battery and for an entire home with 350 feet of base it only used one bar. No ramp up time is great. The tip that is on it I really like because it doesn’t leave indentations in MDF. It’s really easy to use and drove every nail in below surface. Definitely recommend it.

This is a well balanced brad nailer with very smooth operation. I have another brand of brad nailer that I have used for years and I was surprised that the Milwaukee is actually a little heavier than my old brad nailer by about half a pound. The Milwaukee weighs about 6.8 pounds with battery but is well balanced. Even though this is an excellent tool, I was a little surprised by the price. It is roughly 2.5 times more expensive than the current version of my old brad nailer. You would hope for that price you would at least get a carrying bag.

Another great product from the people at Milwaukee. This is a great cordless nailer with enough power to sink a nail into hardwood or softwood. This nailer does not need a gas cartridge but instead uses sealed compressed nitrogen to drive the brad nails. The nailer comes with different actuation settings for different firing modes. I used this to install some baseboard and crown mouldings and didn't have to fumble with an air hose. I also liked the knob on the side the set the depth. Very easy to use for the professional or DIYer.

For years I have had and used the nailing guns powered by my air compressor and really got used to using them and rarely would use a hammer except when in a hurry or electric power was not available for my compressor. That was until I found my M !8 Battery operated 18 Guage nailer. Now I rarely use the compressor any more because this Brad nailer handles most of my close up trim work and it really does as well with the 5/8 as the 2 1/8 in brads and it also does a perfect job on any hardness of wood. This just make most projects more fun and easier. Great tool addition.

              Much improved!
I owned the Gen 1 version of this tool and can tell you that this is a much improved product in every way. This tool will do whatever you would expect of a an 18g nailer and do it well. I use this often for small woodworking projects and construction remodel trim carpentry work and it is fantastic. I love not having a cord! Even made it a nice home in a Milwaukee packout case.

                A tool I didn't know I couldn't live without
After going through a few pneumatic finish nailers, I decided to give this cordless brad nailer a try. Although you pay for the quality, I can absolutely say that the nailer is well worth it. Since I had never owned a cordless brad nailer, the joys of mobility and hassle free setup were new to me. However, that is not what solely makes the nailer great. There is no hesitation in the nailer; when you pull or bump the trigger, it fires immediately. Additionally, it runs exceptionally long on a battery! I used the 2.0 ah battery that came with it for 8 hours putting tongue and groove pine on a ceiling and walls and still had 2 bars of life left. And not only did the battery last, but the whole day the nailer set nails consistently, which I had never experienced with a pneumatic finish nailer. Even the differences in material (hard/softwood, plywood) doesn't create problems. I've actually recommended the nailer to fellow tradespeople because I am so happy with it. The peace of mind that also comes with a 5 year warranty also garners my vote of confidence. Overall, I am beyond pleased with the purchase.

This brad nailer is my newest addition to my Milwaukee 18 volt collection. I love it. It’s so much more convenient to use this, than to bring an air compressor into the house and attach a pneumatic brad nail gun. This one uses standard 18 gauge brad nails which are available everywhere. It has adjustments for how deep the nail shoots. This particular model does not include a battery, but if you have other M18 Milwaukee tools, then you already have a battery.

Review for the M18 FUEL GEN II 18-Volt 18-Gauge Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Brad Nailer Kit with One 2.0 Ah Battery, Charger and Bag: This brad nailer is just what is needed for nailing small pieces of wood together. Like Norm says, “just until the glue dries.” It is fast and easy to use as it is light weight and handles quite well. It is easy to set the driving depth of the brads.

Again, another great tool from Milwaukee. This 18 gauge lithium-ion brushless cordless brad nailer is a must for anyone in construction or for the DIY. It delivers peak productivity and unmatched performance without using a compressor hose. It has a nitrogen air spring mechanism and the finish nailer gives users the ability to consistently sink nails into the correct depth in both hard and soft woods leaving clean nail holes that match the nail head. It has zero ramp up time keeping it efficient and consistent through the day. The nailer is compact and lightweight and gives access to tight spaces and limits arm fatigue during a long day of use. It uses redlithium batteries and sealed nitrogen to drive each nail eliminating the cost of gas cartridges and maintenance. The kit comes with one 2.0 battery, charger and bag, and includes a reversible belt hook. A really great brad nailer and definitely a must have. I've given it a practice run and it's perfect.

Six years ago I bought a competitor's battery powered brad nailer when I needed to install crown molding in my granddaughter's non-rectangular room. This type of tool was great for that job. This model is lighter, more easily positioned, and more powerful than the competitor I had. I have the competitor's drill, and my son-in-law's Milwaukee crushes it in head-to-head work, having a better battery and a work light, and I'm guessing this brad gun will out perform it's competitor in battery performance too.

What a great idea! This brad/finish nailer works really well. Best of all you don’t have to drag around a compressor and it works with the M18 batteries you already have for your other Milwaukee cordless tools. It’s also cheaper to use than my liquid fuel nailer. No fuel to keep buying. The nailer is approximately 12”X12”X3” and I weighed it at 6 lbs. 6oz including the small 1.5 amp battery. Nails are easy to load and remove from the magazine. This nailer has plenty of power as I was able to easily drive 1” brads into the pine molding I was working with. In fact I had to adjust the nailer depth adjustment to reduce how far I was driving the nail into the wood. It has an LED light that illuminates the area being nailed. 2 extra tip cushions are provided and are conveniently stored on the nailer. This particular model is sold without the battery/charger. I found this a plus as I have several batteries and chargers and didn’t need to pay for another. I was surprised that this nailer weighed about a pound and a half more than my liquid fueled nailer. The nailer has a comfortable grip and is easy to control for positioning. See Photos.

My new best friend. I thought these were only good for trim and crown molding. Of course this is designed for the professional who uses it all day long but is also worth it for the home owner who does many of their own repairs. It will pay for itself when re-installing the trim in my hall and living room vs hiring a contractor. It's $20 a day or $80 a week to rent one in my town. Plus the time driving around to pick it up and drop it off. With this there is no pressure to start and stop around my work schedule. I have been using it for all sorts of little projects where I would usually overdo it with screws or big nails. that are much more expensive. With the GenII design this should last your entire life. Also helps when it is just you. One hand to hold the material, the other to nail. Plus it is much faster and cleaner looking. The tips store right on the tool which is great. The brads slide in and out easily to change the length. Jam clearing latch is super fast and easy to open and see and remove a jam easy to use dial to adjust the nail depth. Has a lighted on off on button to easily tell when it is active. No wait up time. no hose to drag around. heavy duty belt clip that fits on left or right side

The Milwaukee M18 model # 2746-21CT 18-gauge brad nailer is a step up from my previous cordless nailer - there’s no “ramp up” time waiting for the thing to fire a brad into the work. Once you have the tip in position, squeeze the trigger and it fires - or put it into ‘bump fire’ mode and the machine will fire brads as quickly as you can position the tip and press it into the work. It’s a bit quieter than my other cordless nailer too - but you still want to wear hearing and eye protection. Fit and finish is excellent, although it’s not small by any means. With the compact 2 a/h battery the balance is very good. I have medium sized hands and have no problems handling the tool. Milwaukee claims the new M18 to be “compact” and “lightweight” - and maybe for skilled pros it is. I’m a homeowner/DIY’er and I wouldn’t describe it as lightweight or compact. I would, however, describe it as extremely capable. The LED light hits the work exactly where I want it to and makes working in corners easier. The spare tips are stored on the tool. I’ve not yet experienced a nail jam, but the new Milwaukee is “tool-less” in removing jams that might occur. There’s a “dry fire lockout”, so once the brads are all gone you won’t damage either the tool or the trim by a ‘dry fire’. The 2746-21CT is the ‘kit’ version of the tool, adding a 2 a/h battery, charger, reversible belt hook, extra tips, and a contractor’s bag. If you do more than occasional, light trim work I’d plan on getting at least one more battery. The beauty of the new Lithium cells is that they have no ‘memory’ and don’t slow down the work as they discharge - they simply stop functioning when they run out of power. The bad news is that you’re out of luck until the cell recharges - unless you’ve got a spare battery on hand. The contractor’s bag is oversized, so there’s no issue in hauling the tool, 2-3 batteries, the charger, and a few packs of brad nails. There’s an included detachable shoulder strap as well as sewn in handles, and the zipper is well constructed. Speaking of brad nails, the Milwaukee can handle brads up to 2” long. There’s a very nice depth control dial and in use, once the depth is dialed in, I haven’t had any issues with the tool damaging the wood. You do want to run a test depth shot into scrap wood, tho. Get the depth wrong and you can dent the wood. Once adjusted the unit doesn’t leave large divot holes behind it, either. The nailer is maneuverable even given its size, and quick for me to use. I’ve used the nailer for setting trim molding, bracing arbors in my wife’s rose garden, and in setting a wood border around my shop knife sharpener so that it doesn’t slide around in use (see photo below, the wood border is in red). For the DIY’er, this is one of those gadgets that you might not appreciate until you’ve used one. No compressor, no hose, no ramp-up time, no trim hammer or manually setting brads. Slide in a stick of brads, attach a battery, set the depth, and you’re off to the races. There’s a 5 year warranty from Milwaukee on the tool, a 2 year warranty on the battery, and Home Depot offers their 90-day return policy. HTH Regards, Jim

Welcome to the Gen ll Milwaukee 18 gauge nail gun. Milwaukee has listened to its customer concerns about jamming with first generation of this nail gun and fixed the problem with the gen ll. No more jamming! Now this beast has a little weight to it, but in my opinion, this trade off of a pound or two heavier than a pneumatic counterpart vs dragging around an air hose and worrying about a power source more than makes up for it. This nail gun has great adjustability on the nail debt. Milwaukee’s zero ramp up time is a big time saver also. I like that the different workpiece contact points are stored right on the nail gun so I won’t loose them. Overall I love it, runtime is great and quality is exceptional.

Right out of the box, I noticed how naturally the releases and adjustments are. No studying, with multiple attempts to try to figure out how to do what you need done. It just makes sense. Loading is quick and easy. Press and hold the power button to turn on/off. It lights up green when there’s enough battery power to operate. Press and hold the MODE button to toggle between the actions. There’s no waiting in between for it to ramp up for the next nail. It will fire quicker than you’ll need. NO WAITING! You can easily see where the nail is going, nothing blocking your view, so accurate placement is easy. I’ve fired many nails rapidly into a 2x4, just to see if it could keep up. It did. Every nail goes in cleanly and leaves a professional finish. I also didn’t have any misfires or jams. None! Fine tuning the depth is like micrometer fine. You can set the depth exactly where you want. The tool will let you know when it’s time to reload, stopping when there are 4 or 5 nails left. I’d let you know about clearing jams and resetting, but I didn’t have any. There is a handy folded sheet, a “cheat sheet” that explains what to do in those situations. This comes with two additional tips, the bag and a shoulder strap, one CP 2.0 battery that is perfect for the balance, a belt hook and a charger. This is the real deal. Uses any of the Milwaukee M18 batteries and has a five year warranty on the tool. Impressive!

The Milwaukee 18-gauge brad nailer is an awesome tool! I already have the 15-gauge finish nailer that I love. Now I don’t need to carry around a compressor and hoses when I do casing or baseboards. These guns are just like air powered guns. They fire instantly. They don’t rev up before firing like those yellow ones do. It can easily adjust the depth of the nail by turning a dial on the side. Very simple to free up jams if they occur. It has a latch on the top, just open it up clear the bad nail close it back up and you’re ready to go. It also has 2 settings for firing nails single shot and multiple nails you just hold the trigger on and bump it and it keeps firing. Why you would need this on a brad nailer I have no idea. But if you do it’s there. It also has a led on it. It takes any of the Milwaukee M18 batteries. I suggest the 2.o ah battery for this gun. The bigger the battery the heavier it gets so go with the smallest it will still last all day. I highly recommend it.

I've been using pneumatic brad nailers for years and the one irritating issue with dragging out pneumatic tools is having to drag out the compressor and hoses too. I was quite excited to see the cordless brad nailer added to Milwaukee 18 volt line-up. Out of the box, this brad nailer is quite large compared to the pneumatic guns. This unit takes almost a square foot before an 18 volt battery pack is slapped on. And it's weighty too at 5-1/2 pounds minus battery. I deducted a star because of the weight, but added that star back once I began moving around the job hose free! Yeah, the size and weight is a negative but I soon forgot about it. The pleasure of being able to angle the Milwaukee nailer into corners and not play tug-o-war with a hose is simply awesome! Then to get an LED light to light up the work area - wow! And, reversible belt clip, changeable tips, brush-less motor, fast sequential firing (as good as pneumatic) are part of this Milwaukee unit. The build of the Milwaukee is great; you can select firing depth (which by the way works far better than pneumatic), selective firing modes - sequential or contact, and tooless access to the drive chamber to clear jams. The nailer also has rubber pads surrounding the nailer to protect surfaces when laying the nailer down; something you don't find on most higher end pneumatic brad nailers. The performance is awesome regardless of what I nail; be it hard maple or soft fir. I could go on and on, but really this brad nailer by Milwaukee has NAILED it!!
