they do track worth a crap

Need to have a better system. To easy to see, to hard to place in cognito, no adhesive backing, no battery life, no audible speaker, too expensive, and you can easily disassemble to deactivate it upon noticing it or recognizing it. Also sh uld be able to pair it with more then one tool. I wouldike to pair my tick that's located on my packout box with the six tools it contains. Right idea, wrong execution. The stickers are a better choice, but they are too expensive. I think the tools should have their own barcode scanning tag from the factory like dewalt does, making it easy to scan the tool or battery with the one key app, checking it in, and creating a tool location history.

Bought 4 pack to test. One was on a tool on site, one was left in a drawer in a building materials store in Manhattan, 2 were on vehicles. The test at the store was done to see if crowd sourcing would reveal it's location. For 2 weeks this thing sat at the store, and not one One-key app 'ping' came back for it. I tried walking past the store with my app on several times a day, and it told me my tool was a few hundred feet from where it actually is. If you can't crowd source data in a Manhattan Building Supply store, what are the chances it will 'ping' in Idaho? Zero. In a multistory building the the tool test is useless. Bluetooth is only 2D and within a few hundred feet accurate when paired with the phones gps app. So a big fail on a urban site. Last 2 ticks were on vehicles. When the truck is in the driveway it sometimes accurately said so. And sometimes not. This MIGHT work if you lost your tool in a very small garden, but really good luck in any other environment. If any part of it worked it would be useful. Such a waste of money I wish I could give it negative stars.

Been a loyal Milwaukee fan for years. These were a huge disappointment. Its like the little key finder trackers. They work only within 50' or so. They make it sound like you can track these if people steal them not if I misplace it. Huge let down.

Very limited applications unless integrated on very large items with a large company committed to using its networking potential. Get it to report my tools locations without the all present once an hour and they deserve 5 stat

Its useless please do not waist your money The phone can not detecteted even one feet close

Poor signal Low range

May be not for the average user with a few tools. I run an organisation with over 500 tools in different locations. I see it helping to know what is where and help to plan / allocate not so much for theft.

I don't recommend buying these. They will only update you on location IF someone with the same Application gets within 20'. Mine doesn't even update when I'm in the house and it is in front of garage. I love Milwaukee Tools but they screwed this one up

Have started using the Tick for inventory control of hand tools plus small plant (ie Honda gen). A little on the large size for small hand tools (that do not have One-Key) so cannot attach, large items and storage cases are ideal. Inventory control is great, replacing battery fairly straight forward. We are a large transportation company with teams using a multitude of cordless and powered tools. Booking in and out for days use is also easier. Not saying we'll ever lose a tool although with Geofencing available and other measures available through the app, I have found this to be the best system for it's intended use. Thanks to the Milwaukee guys here in Australia, did a great job.

I was overseas in November and my storage building was broken into and they stole 15000 in Milwaukee tools 4 items had these ticks on them and Milwaukee tools tols me and the sheriff that there was no way to track the ticks I have not recovered any tools it was a waste of money and a scene of false security for my tools no review was available when they came out

Novel idea and probably most beneficial to large construction firms with lots of tools and inventory to keep track of. I'm a do it yourselfer who has been the victim tools stolen from my vehicles. So i was hoping widespread use of the One Key system would allow me to recover tools in the future. So I've made my replacement purchases all One Key models. Of course everything is not One Key yet so the Tics are available. Either way i will no longer purchase any One Key items as the ones with built in One Keys will not help in recovery and the Tics are easily removed or disabled. Don't waste your money on One Key or Tics unless you're a purchaser for a major contractor.

They suck

The range was only 100 ft I was looking for more of a range in case our trailors were stolen. The 100 feet would not even go to the end of our driveway.

I bought the 4 pack and placed them in various places. One on my pack out, one on my truck, one to my m18 packout radio, and one on my keys. I hooked all of them up using the app no problem, a few weeks later my truck gets towed to the mechanic, for fun, i try to track it. It shows it at home depot. I was so confused and then i saw that the date it was tracking from was a week ago. That made me mad. And then i checked my other trackers and they were all the wrong date. How pathetic. I removed all of them and threw them away. I love milwaukee and own everything milwaukee, but they need to make a new version of these. I wish i could give 0 stars

I have installed few ticks and realised the devices update its location maybe once a day even though they have access to my Bluetooth most of the day. You end up with knowing where your tool was not where it is now, very disapointed.

The concept of this tool is excellent. The excecution of how it tracks is problimatic due to the lack of downloads of the app that allows the tool to ping its location. If you are thinking of buying these, I suggest making a trip to local pawn shops and convincing the owners and employees to download the app. That way is a stolen tool shows up there it will ping the owner. My personal experiment with this product was tossing it into my wife's car to see if anywhere she went would track. She does most of the errands and isn't confined to an office so it was a good representation of real life tracking. In my area, not enough people have the app, so I never got a location ping. Oh, and lol, she did know it was there.

Easy to track

Doesn't pair with samsung, also the battery cover tab leaves a sticky coating on the battery active side meaning the battery it comes with doesn't work.

Keeps track of my tools in shop and trucks so its easy to know if i have the tool on hand and where it is if i dont

To expensive to do nothing.
