Beautiful LED light. It is very bright. It works flawlessly with our dimmer switch. The handyman had no trouble installing it; took him maybe 10 minutes. If you see from the picture, it is not quite centered right over our medicine cabinet. I'm not sure if that's because the medicine cabinet needs to move over or because the light needs to move over. I will ask the handyman about it next time I see him. But the light itself is beautiful, and provides a pure white light. Since we should not have to change light bulbs for another 20 years or so, I think it's well worth the money. Also note that I had a limited selection of lighting fixtures to choose from because I only wanted chrome ... no brushed nickel, blech! This one looks great!
Minka Lavery LED Chrome Vanity Light. In the picture, the floor is the Home Decorators Collection Sannita Neutral luxury vinyl tile. Paint color is KM5822 San Francisco Fog.
This light is very stylish and gives off a good amount of light. The three bulb light it replaced was no where near this bright.
Installation was fairly easy. The biggest challenge was the small amount of space above an existing medicine cabinet.
Out of the box, you have to unscrew the backer from the light panel. The instructions show you can unscrew the side and remove more weight for installation. Since I was installing above an existing medicine cabinet, I used the slightly open doors to hold the unit. It is on the heavy side and would have been difficult to hold while connecting wires. You attach it to the box, then there are two more holes to distribute the weight. We chose wallboard screws rather than the enclosed anchors. The most difficult piece of the installation was screwing the light onto the mounting panel. Not much room above it and not much below made these four screws challenging. Still, not too difficult to install.
Pros: Eco-Friendly, Functional, High Quality of Material, Looks Great, Nice Design, Stylish, Very Bright, Well Made
This is the most beautiful, elegant and well made Bathroom Vanity I have ever seen.
Minka Lavery has come up with a new kind of LED light, which consists of about 370 small LEDs in an array and makes it a big light.
The fixture is well made and very durable. The super shiny chrome is very attractive.
The 1800 lumens of light is good enough for my medium size bathroom.
The installation is very simple. for a DIY user, you do not even need a manual; it is that easy.

All thought the light is a little pricey it looks amazingly beautiful now that it has been installed. This is my second purchase of this light. The first arrived all smashed in the box so I would check before you are ready to install because the packaging could be done a lot better.

Very very good quality so it’s worth the money. Has a sharp contemporary clean look which goes well with a more dressy mirror above our vanity and a dressy glass vessel sink on the vanity. The lighting from this LED is also plenty bright.
Anyone giving this product a 5-star review probably didn't install it themselves or there are quality issues. The product looks nice and throws off so much light that now I need to install a dimmer (no big deal). Otherwise, I like this product.
I had multiple problems with the installation.
- The glass piece which sits behind the metal brackets is supposed to be installed last, but on my
unit the glass would not fit behind the brackets. There wasn't enough room and I was afraid
that I would crack the glass if I forced it. As a result, I needed to take the unit off the wall,
unloosen the bracket nuts, and attach the glass to the back lighting unit before mounting on the
wall. It was still very tight on my unit.
- Mounting on the wall was not easy as the 4 screws which screw the bracket into the mounting
plates were not all lining up perfectly, so it was hard to just start all 4 screws (even before screwing
The 24" Minka Lavery light was very well constructed of heavy metal, quality chrome plating and a heavy glass frosted globe. All parts for hanging, including properly sized wire nuts were included. It came in 3 pieces; the wall plate, the LEDs and power unit and the globe. This is a one person install but I had some problems due to where I was installing. The wall plate was easy to level and mark holes for mollies.
I balanced the LED unit on mirror door while connecting wires and then easily attached to the wall plate.
The hardest task was installing the globe. It was easy to lower onto the two arms that support it but then you have to get your hand into the globe to install the two screws into the metal arms that hold the globe in place. My hands are not that large but it was impossible for me. I had to use a magnetic screw driver to hold the screw while I lowered it into the hole. But the main reason I only gave 4 stars was because the instructions were so small and such light ink that I could not even read the diagrams with a magnifying glass. I had to scan them into my computer then enlarge till I could see and read them.
