very nice soil
This is a great garden soil. It has a deep, rich, color, and smells of the earth. Kind of a silly thing to say about soil, but I've purchased soils that don't before. It holds water well, and has lots of organic material in it. The only thing I'd worry about is that it has fertilizer in it (likely Miracle Gro) which might not match up with everything you're planting. If you're going to use this in a veggie garden or flower bed this will be fantastic.

No trash and minimal sticks
I'm using this soil to grow flowers in a new garden bed that I built. One of the major complaints that I have with most packaged soil is the junk that you find inside of it, namely pieces of plastic, trash bits and sticks. While I only have one bag of this product, I didn't find any plastic or trash. There are some sticks but nothing like I've seen in competitor's products. As far as lumps go, there are a few, but that's to be expected. They broke up easily, unlike another brand that I've tried. I haven't run into any issues with weeds. It's only been about a week and a half since I planted my bulbs with this soil so it's a little too early to see if this will be an issue. So far so good. The color of the soil has stayed dark, even between watering, so I'm hoping this will aid me in growing some great flowers.

Garden time!
Spring time! Time to start the garden. I have a raised bed garden. This year, I added an additional level to it and had to fill it so I got a bag of Nature's Care Organic Soil. The 1.5 Cubic feet worked out perfectly. I topped it off with some potting soil and planted herbs and smaller stuff. I am confident I will get a good haul from my garden this year!

Very Good Garden Soil!
The Miracle Gro Nature's Care Organic Garden Soil is of high quality. The soil has a rich dark color and a fine good texture. I used it to supplement the soil in my flower beds. The product promises to retain hydration for an extended period of time and that does actually seem to work. I can't wait to plant my spring flowers in it next weekend. I recommend this product.

Good Quality Organic Soil
Fall is tree planting season. But before I plant anything, I like to prepare the soil to give my tree the most optimal environment to grow and develop. Where I live, the soil is heavy clay. Clay is hard when dry and won't drain well when too much moisture--guaranty a death sentence to your plants. To resolve this issue I used Nature's Care Organic Garden Soil. I dug a large hole, about 3 feet deep and excavated all the hard clay soil. I then add the Nature's Care Organic Garden Soil to fill up the hole. I like this brand of soil for several reasons. It contains good amount of peat moss to help retain moisture and perilite for drainage. It also contains some organic material for fertilizer. You always want to pay attention to the color of the soil. It should be rich dark (black) without any foul odor. The soil is perfect for trees and plants that like moisture. I live in California, water retention is the most important. In term of drainage, however, it can use a bit more perilite to facilitate drainage. and lighten the soil. Overall, it's a good soil for planting trees or preparing a garden bed.

Rich looking garden soil
Although I haven't planted anything in this garden soil yet, it looks really rich. I did go through a whole bag when filling a new planter and also topping off several older planters. I came across 2 small twigs in the bag and nothing else but soil...so it is pretty clean dirt. I've mixed in some potting soil to lighten the mix a little because these are container gardens.

Misleading name…
I grow my vegetables organically. When I opened the bag, I was looking at one of the most beautiful gardening soil: close to black color, mildly moist and lightweight, finely crumbling in hand. (See pic.4) Gardener's dream. I put it as a fertilizer around my tomatoes plants. But then I started reading info on the back of the bag. Ingredients (see pic.2): common for all states are compost and poultry litter. The unidentified compost ingredients can have traces of synthetic fertilizers and Roundup, plants treated with pesticides, traces of GMO produce and so on. Nitrogen is delivered from poultry litter. Because there is not said, that poultry litter is coming from organically raised poultry, it is obviously coming from CAFO (factory farms) – serious environmental polluters. Poultry there is treated with hormones, still probably with some amount of antibiotics. The poultry feed is mostly GMO products and it is not unusual to have a little arsenic added to their feed. What goes into the animal, also comes out and then became part of this soil. This is a NO NO for my organic vegetable garden. This soil although made from organic materials is not actually organic in real organic gardening meaning. However the soil is great for growing flowers and ornamental shrubs. On the back of the bag is instruction how to use the soil (pic 1) and simple calculation for your soil need. Pic 3 also provides info about Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back and Disclaimer and Limited Liability. This morning I scraped all this “organic soil” of my tomatoes and I enriched with it my Japanese grass and planted in it daffodil bulbs. Because of its confusing name I give to it only 4 stars.

Deeply rich soil
Fantastically rich looking garden soil. The first thing I did was search through this soil looking for wood shavings, bark or other signs of wood filler or fibrous material and found NONE. I also pinched between my fingers to try and detect sand and again found none. While the soil was slightly moist it was loose and fine. Sure it had some lumps but they broke up easily. None of those lumps were clay or showed signs of having clay in them. It smells rich and not rotten. I wish my whole garden was like this soil. Only time will tell just how rich it really is for plants. Photo is a handful of this soil on a 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper. You get your hands into it and they get really, really dirty. Good news is it washer off easily.

Like to have organic
always good every once in a while to mix in some organic- especially with old soil which has a lot clay and is fairly dense - as well - there just seems to be this salty looking crust. - strating to pull out some old grass and get it conditioned for some shrubs or other type of plant

The soil quality should have been fine. however homedepot stored the bags allowed them to get soaked. Last time I bought them they were dry soil ideal to work with. This time placed my order in advance and I got 5 heavy bags of mud. Thanks a lot.

Organic Garden Soil
I love plants and can always use garden soil. I like the fact that it is Organic. My flowers are very happy after being re-potted. I grow a lot of plants from seeds I get from the fruit so planting them in Nature's Care Garden Soil really helps them grow. I was glad to see on delivery that this soil is a Scott's product and I feel this is a good company.

Great soil and all organic
Normally I'm not overly concerned with my gardening soil being organic, but it makes sense for growing food/vegetables. I'm growing my own (in part) to be free of pesticides, etc. so why have it in my soil? This soil looks and feels like a very high-quality soil and so far I am having good results in my garden. Leaving off one star because of the bag it comes in - not sure if the bag is meant to be better for the environment in some way (lighter weight?), but I found it a bit flimsy and had one burst on me when I dropped a second bag on top, spilling some of the dirt.

Best Garden Soil
The garden soil was very easy to spread. It was not in clumps and you can sift the soil through your fingers for finer spreading. I found my plants were thanking me for such a dark, rich, spreadable soil that I got larger blooms. This soil is worth the price you pay. A little more money for the same amount from other brands, but your plants will thank you.

Organic Garden Soil
I opened the bag of Nature's Care Organic Garden Soil the day it arrived to inspect it. It looks rich and dark unlike the red clay soil you find here in Ga. I mixed it into the soil around a shrub that I planted. I have used other potting soils for plants in my flower beds and this organic soil looks like a much better richer soil than others I have used in the past. I did read other reviews from some who said it arrived with sticks in it and that it did not look good. That was not the case with what I recieved. the soil I got looks very rich without any sticks or other garbage.

It's dirt alright
I got this because I needed something on the fly and don't trust the regular Miracle-Gro soil with all of the chemicals. I prefer Promix HP for value. This stuff I had to mix in perlite and some other amendments to get it the way I like. For bagged basic soil it isn't bad though. Keep in mind this is garden soil, not potting soil so plan accordingly.

CLEAN DIRT
I ordered Nature's Care Organic Garden Soil to fill in some low spots in my flower garden. The soil was very easy to spread out, it is very clean and has good texture. I would definitely use it again. It was so much nicer than some of the other soils I have used in the past. This looks to me to be an excellent product and I hope my flowers like it as much as I do.

Garden Soil, not Potting Soil
As a garden soil, this is a good amendment for clay soil. It's not pretty, and it stinks, and there's a lot trash in it ... but it does belong in your garden and not in your pots. It will add loft which will allow for improved water retention. I used it to plant my hibiscus plants and one bag was enough for three 2-gal plants. They survived the growing season so what's not to like?

Rich Dark Earth
Dirt is really dark in color and is tilled fairly fine. There were some larger clumps but they broke apart very easily. I thought the dirt was a little too moist for my liking right out of the bag, but I could have gotten a very fresh batch, so I just left the top of the bag wide open for a few days and used it from the top and that seemed to dry it up a little. I used this mixed with seed started for my potting mix, then used it exclusively when I transplanted individual plants into trays. Very dark and rich soil and I will purchase this in the future.

VERY GOOD PRODUCT
I have a low area in the lawn that does not drain well in spite of having a french drain in place.Every winter the grass becomes very thin in that area and does not recover until the end of August. I put the entire bag down there. It is a dark rich brown color and looks as if it will be very nourishing to the grass. It did not smell bad and had no unwanted material such as sticks or stones.Only time will tell if it speeds up the recovery process, but it sure looks like it will.

good soil
this is decent organic soil. good texture and i like that it uses yuca to hold the moisture. with this soil since it has materials in it already to hold moisture i didn't have to add the perliteand peat that i normally add to soil. it already includes peat. it uses poultry litter for fertilizer and the nitrogen count is low (.08, 0.6, 0.7) which is good for the environment. i've used this in the garden for both plants and vegetables. i don't know the difference between this and the same product with the words "with water conserve." they are both the same size and price.

Great soil
With a new garden, we are always looking for good garden soil. I also have many rose bushes, and am often repotting them to larger containers. This soil is perfect for both uses and helps my plants, both vegetables and roses, grow to be healthy, strong plants. When the areas are properly kept watered (in Florida that's a big deal), this soil is perfect.

Great soil but very clumpy
I used a bag of this soil when I was replanting and area of grass this fall. I have a few areas of the yard with no top soil. I found the soil very damp, compressed and clumpy. I tried to rake it and it just stuck to the rake. I tried to step on it to spread it out but it stuck to my shoe, kind of like when you step in dog... well, you know what. I managed to get it mostly separated. A good rain broke a lot of it down and the grass seed seems to love it. The soil has maintained a very dark color. I used a competitor's top soil in other areas of the yard and the grasslings love that too. I only recommend this organic soil for in garden beds. I figured I could use it as top soil as well (you would think) but it did not work out as well as I thought.

Good, rich soil - no filler
I really can't understand what exactly some people are saying when they give this stuff a negative review - i honestly think they just posted their review for the wrong item, because there is NOTHING in the bag except for very dark, very rich soil. There's no mulch, debris, Styrofoam or anything else that's not supposed to be in there except good ol' dirt. It was very easy to work with and mixed well into our Georgia red clay. So far, the plants that I put this around seem to be pretty happy (and this is August, so they must be really happy). Buy a bag and see for yourself.

Really Grows Vegetables!
We ordered some of those 'containers' to grow some garden in. Used this organic soil and the squash we planted is four feet tall and producing like crazy. This in Cheyenne Wyoming, at 6,000 feet, where the nights are cool (usually in the 50s) and days (so far this year) in 70s. The soil is obviously just what they wanted and they are simply exploding out of the containers. We've already harvested (planted May 30) both zucchini and yellow neck squash. Will soon have peppers and tomatoes as well as cucumbers and onions. This soil is really good, allows the plants to reach down and get moisture out of the containers, and they are growing like crazy. Our growing season is very short here (late freezes in May are common; early freezes in September are too) so we are highly pleased. We ARE going to have fresh garden vegetables. We credit the soil most of all.

Great Nature's Care Organic Garden Soil
This garden soil is top of the line. It is not filled with clumps and junk. I have about 200 plants inside and another 200 plants outside. I use the Organic Garden Soil outdoors because my fruit and vegetable plants are planted outside but so are my peonies, roses, daisies, day lilies, lilies and irises. I work hard to supply everything with their needs and this soil fits the bill. I would definitely recommend.

Great for pots of veggies, herbs, etc.
We live in a townhouse with very little yard and grow some veggies and herbs in pots on the front and rear patios. This organic soil is perfect for us because we know the growing medium is free of contaminates and is organic. This matters to us as we are growing food in this soil that we're going to be eating!
